Fun place to stay

This was a great find for a family trip. The game room was an plus! Kitchen was outdated and the stove didn’t work but having the grill made up for it. Would definitely consider staying here again.

This place is a ton of fun

This is a great place for families - the bedrooms are comfortable, and there is an enormous basement for the kids to play and run around. The driveway is just a tad steep, so be prepared for some slipperiness in the winter.

Feels like Grandma’s house

We stayed here during a very snowy weekend and had a great time. The game room was a big hit, with the pool table. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is a little old-fashioned but we made it work. We really appreciated being able to bring the dogs, they love Truckee as much as we do!

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay here. The interior is a little dated but very cozy. It is close to Donner Pass. We loved the downstairs game room. We also loved the collection of movies on VHS. We watched movies with the kids that we hadn’t seen in 20+ years. Lots of room. Would be great for a couple of families.

Large house, great location

The location of this house is great, it’s central to everything. The house is very spacious and can easily hold 2-3 families. The game room is an added bonus, as well as garage access. I’ve rented a lot of houses, and this is the first that allowed us to park in the garage. The only downside is that the majority of the interior is terribly outdated.

Big Home and Open Yard

Great big home for our family and friends! The most fun was in the open yard out back and the game room! House pictures were correct in being dated but the kitchen stove and oven in particular need to be replaced for proper working order. While frustrating we made the best of it and in talking with the manager the kitchen is being upgraded. We’ll keep an eye on the property for future stays once updates are complete.

Great, but needs some maintenance

Here are the Pros of this house: - So many beds and space.- The loft is perfect for teens - Really comfortable beds - Great location and close to fun things - Yard is a fun sledding ground on its own - The game room offers a great space for teens Cons: - The kitchen is really outdated. One burner was being replaced, the other 3 worked but you couldn't see the heat level very well. The pots and pans are barely usable. Oddly, there were only 6 forks total, so some of our group of 8 had to use spoons for spaghetti etc. Most the dishes are chipped. -The video arcade wasn't working. We had early check in so I guess that stopped them from checking to see if they could fix it? - The game room had only 3 ping pong paddles, and only 3 pool table sticks so that limited group activities. Overall, I would stay here again, but the kitchen was frustrating at times. We pick homes instead of hotel rooms to save money on food prep etc. If you plan on cooking, just bring your own pots and pans and things are perfect.

Nice game room but house needs updating

The best thing about this property is the game room (which seems newer than the rest of the home) and the two free standing gas heating fireplaces. The main level upstairs kitchen, family room, bedrooms, and second story are out of date with old appliances (microwave was difficult to use, dryer door would not close, dishwasher leaked, stove and oven very outdated 70's or 80's?). The electrical wiring to lamps and televisions throughout the house were not professionally wired and worried us regarding fire safety. Chairs, tables, and dressers had broken legs, backs, and drawers. The bathroom sink upstairs leaked and the toilet in the master bedroom stopped working on our last day. Chris from the rental agency was very helpful and came right after we called him upon our arrival because the main floor needed vacuuming, we couldn't get the microwave to work, and had to replace bulbs in the kitchen light over the dining room table. We give this property a 2 because what we paid for and what we received was unacceptable. We will not rent this property again.

Could be great, but.....

First, I'll state the positive. Great location, adequate parking, good for multiple families with kids, and comfortable beds and linens. The bathrooms are clean. Now for the negative...this house is old, which wouldn't be a problem in the least if the owner took care of it. Table legs were broken, a stool was broken, dining room chair was broken, kick plates were broken, cupboards we're sticky, pots and pans are corroded and very old, microwave only worked half the time, one burner never worked, there was supposed to be two garage door openers, but there was only one, and the shower head in master bedroom is broken. When we arrived I let the property manager know about a few of the problems, but as our stay went on, we found more each day. This cabin could be great even though it's older if the owner would put some time and love into it. I would not recommend staying here.

Solid management with easy-to-follow instructions.

Love this cozy house - quintessential Tahoe. My only recommendations would be to have the lower game room heat source improved (fireplace not working), WiFi improved and possibly TV/cable instructions easier (although I’m no spring chicken and the instructions seemed great but we were still unable to turn on cable TV - but no matter, had much more fun playing board games). Despite these small items, we loved the home and setting and would love to return.

Fun House great ski destination

lots of fun games and stuff to do in the game room! solid rental house with all the things you would expect. A hot tub would be a good addition! One downside, the driveway is a lot steeper than the picture suggests, this can create problems in the winter months.

Had a great time!

The property is very spacious, plenty of room for my group of 12. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and cookware, and the beds were comfortable. There was no more hot water for the last few people who showered in the evening, but the two gas fireplaces kept the house very cozy. Chris was very fast to respond to my email questions and called to check in on us the day of. We asked to bring our golden retriever and it was no problem with Chris (for a reasonable extra fee). Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to stay near Northstar or Squaw!
