Gingerbread Cottage Ursprungligen byggdes 1937, Àr idealiskt belÀget mindre Àn en halv mil frÄn Carpenter Street / Highway 1 korsningen möjliggör enkel tillgÄng till alla sevÀrdheter och attraktioner pÄ Monterey Peninsula. Grinden i den stora privatliv staket öppnar för en sten asfaltlÀggare anlagd uteplats som fÄr massor av mitten av dag solen.

NÀr ni kommer till hemmet hittar du ett mysigt vardagsrum med en termostatstyrd gas spis och en 42 tums platt "smarta" TV. Eller om du föredrar att ta med din favorit-CD eller iPod, lyssna pÄ Bose Wave ljudsystem. PÄ höger kommer att bli kontor / den med ett skrivbord, lÀder fÄtölj och en queen size bÀddsoffa om ytterligare sovarrangemang behövs. Detta rum kan bli privat enkelt genom att stÀnga pocket dörrar.

Det vÀlutrustade köket har alla nya rostfria vitvaror, inklusive kylskÄp med ismaskin, diskmaskin, mikrovÄgsugn och gasspis. Till höger om viken fönster matsalen Àr full storlek tvÀttmaskin och torktumlare och entré till det andra badet och andra queen size sovrum.

Cozy cottage with all that you need. Check in /out was very easy. Door had a code. The house was extremely clean which was a plus. Although we didn't use it, the kitchen was very well equipped. Comfortable beds.The only complaint was the place was slightly worn around the edges.

Cozy cottage perfect for a family of 4

Adorable gingerbread cottage that is well cared for and clean, comes with all of the sheets, towels, toiletries, and supplies you will need for a short stay. Nice front patio with privacy and surrounded by trees, easy access to Carmel By the Sea restaurants and shops, quick drive to Monterey aquarium/downtown attractions. The sofa bed in the den works great for smaller kids but might not be supportive for larger teens and adults. We would definitely stay again.

Carmel Cool Down

Great location with easy walks to beach and business/restaurant district. Only negative was the water got cut-off for about 6-8 hours due to construction nearby and we could not get any response from the property manager. We also contacted the owner who got someone out to turn the water back on. Probably an isolated event not worth worrying about.

The cottage was in a great location and very well suited for us 4 adults. A peaceful and tranquil place. We had all our breakfasts in the cottage as we prefer to eat in to begin the day. The kitchen had all the utensils, etc. we needed. It was very relaxing sitting in the front porch. An ideal place to stay in beautiful Carmel.

Great place to spend a few days in Carmel. Bob's "cottage" was well equipped - it had pretty much everything we needed. It was very quiet and a short drive to Carmel city center. We enjoyed our time there very much.

Carmel Getaway

This charming cottage has everything you need to completely relax in Carmel. It is clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The location is ideal just blocks from Carmel shopping and dining. We enjoyed our daily walks to town. We were greeted upon arrival by Sharon, the house manager. She is delightful and extremely helpful. We frequent Carmel and will most definitely stay here again.

Delightful getaway

We spent a wonderful week at this cottage. It was clean and very cozy. Every room has comfortable seating and the beds were perfect. We mostly stayed indoors due to the rain, the gas fireplace made the living room a warm and cozy place to relax.

Great Cottage in Carmel

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Great house, everything worked as advertised. Great location off of Hwy 1, very convenient location to Monterey and Carmel valley. Very clean home upon entry and use. Great off road parking. One of the best VRBOs we have stayed in.

Ideal getaway spot

This trip was a 60th birthday trip and it exceeded all our expectations! The home has been updated, and offers all of the modern conveniences, yet keeps all the charm of a cozy Carmel-by-the-sea cottage. The area is quiet, and the drive into the heart of Carmel is easy. We will definitely come back again and highly recommend this property! cottage.

Great Location and Spacious Cottage

Great proximity to Carmel by the Sea and Big Sur, in a quiet neighborhood. The cottage was spacious and nicely decorated with quality furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the front patio was nice and peaceful. The washer and dryer were appreciated. Additional fans would be a recommended improvement since there is no air conditioning. Off-street parking was beneficial, but steep and narrow. Host and caretaker were kind and prompt in their communication. Overall, it was a great stay!

Very comfortable cottage

This is an updated and very roomy cottage with plenty of outdoor space conveniently located near Carmel. Please note that you cannot walk to downtown Carmel safely, even though the cottage is just under a mile away. There are no sidewalks outside downtown Carmel. It's a quick 5 minute drive to Carmel from the cottage.

We stayed 4 nights and attended Monterey Jazz Festival. Very comfy cottage that was well equipped for our adult group, bo bbq, but we managed with the broiler! Very responsive manager and host when questions arose. Could use a few more small plates for breakfast/snacks. Very nice place where we will return.

The Gingerbread Cottage was originally built in 1937 as a two bedroom, one bath cottage which was perfect for Barrie Hart Froese's first home in her hometown of Carmel while serving as a vice principal at Carmel Middle School. She moved to San Francisco, met her husband Bob and has also lived in Barrington, IL and now in Montgomery, AL but has always kept this home as a rental.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

As the old saying in real estate goes, Location, Location, Location. Virtually all Monterey Peninsula activities and attractions are within 10 minutes from the property conveniently located less than half a mile from the Carpenter Avenue/Highway 1 intersection. Ocean Avenue in Carmel is less than a mile away and within five miles of the home is the Lodge at Pebble Beach, the Monterey Wharf, Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium, and the Crossroads and Del Monte Shopping Centers. Add a few more miles heading south and you can enjoy many photo opportunities of Big Sur along the way.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

In 2014, the decision was made to totally renovate the house and expand it to its current configuration. All that was kept were three of the outside walls and the original roofline - and of course the gingerbread woodwork on the outside of the house. While still maintaining the cottage atmosphere, the house has all new stainless steel appliances, a full size washer/dryer and WiFi throughout.
