Bear Valley familjen kul i träden

Klassisk a-ramkabin i Bear Valley. Simma, fisk och vandra på sommaren. Utförsåkning och längdskidåkning på vintern.

Tre historier - på övervåningen loftet har queen size-säng och två singlar. Ett sovrum på bottenvåningen har en dubbelsäng. Övrigt sovrum på bottenvåningen har fyra tvillingar i två våningssängar. Downstairs studio har en annan dubbel inklusive små andra kök och andra badrum. På huvudvåningen finns kök, badrum, matkiosk och vardagsrum med öppen spis, stora fönster med utsikt över träd och öppen planlösning - skjutdörrar öppnar mot däck.

Kom och njut av lugnet i den höga Sierra bergskogen på sommaren. Närliggande sjöar och floder erbjuder simning, fiske och kajakpaddling.

På vintern hittar du dig själv i ett riktigt vinterunderland. Vägarna är inte plöjda, åtkomst är av snöskoter. Du måste ordna din transport in och ut med snöskoter, antingen genom att hyra din egen eller reservera en taxitur med ett lokalt snöskoterbolag. Vi har en snöskoterstjänst som vi kan rekommendera (den goda nyheten att han i allmänhet är flexibel med timmar, inom förnuft och med förvarning). Om du behöver en snöskotertaxi är det $ 50 per timme. Under goda snöår kan du åka skidor till skytteln till Bear Valley och sedan åka tillbaka på slutet av dagen. Bear Valley Village ligger bara 15 minuters promenad bort (ca 5-6 kvarter). Det är lätt och vackert att gå.

Quiet location to stay in late August. Close to Lake Alpine. Only 1 bathroom, which was fine for 3 adults, but iffy for a house full.

Beautiful cabin with a ton of room and nice amenities. in the winter it is a bit of a hike from the lodge to the cabin but there are folks who will snowmobile you up for a fee. Would definitely return!

Great family time in Bear Valley

We love Bear Valley and the property and stay was just what we expected! The property was a great location close to the Village, and plenty of space for our family and dog to enjoy.

Plenty of space for 2 families of 4. Beds and couches aren’t comfortable. Cabin is located near the bear valley lake. If you’re looking to stay outdoors for most of the time during your stay, this place will do.

GREAT LOCATION...home accommodates multi family. We had 3 generations. 2 Grandparents, 4 children w spouse, 4 grandkids. Cabin is very much original and is rustic. Host was very accommodating.

Great location and super cozy!

My family and I had such a great stay at this great cabin in the woods! Cabin is exactly as stated in description. We loved how many games they have for our family to play. The proximity to bear valley is as good as can be. Make sure you read full description because there is important information about winter accessibility. We would book again!

Lovely old-fashioned family cabin

The six of us (3 'oldies', 1 middle-aged, 2 late teens) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this utterly charming cabin with a distinct old-fashioned flair; so much reminded us of 'the good OLD times': the decor, the comfy furnishings, the casual lay-out, the amazing amount of kitchen and cooking supplies--in both cupboards and the refrigerator, the spirit of love for Bear Valley living all over the house. A small yet efficient kitchen (we never missed the dishwasher which would not have fit in anyway), odd assortments of linens but very comfortable beds. A place that made us immediately feel welcomed. It was not hotel-like spic and span, definitely showing its well-cared for age and the washing machine instructions made no sense to us, but we will gladly return and want to very much thank the owners for sharing their home with us,

The house keeper was still there when we arrived

The house keeper was still there and we couldn’t check in until 3 hours later. All the food we got at the grocery store had gone bad while we waited for the rental to be done. When we got into the rental, the studio in the bottom floor was flooded and unusable, the bedroom with the bunk beds wasn’t cleaned and had no bed clothes and the soot bucket from the fireplace was full. The host did give us a partial refund but I was so uncomfortable and unhappy it made for a terrible trip

Great Winter Cabin Vibes, But Upgrades Needed

Our overall stay was exactly what we wanted. Great winter cabin vibes and location. We love Bear Valley and can't wait to come back next year. The snow mobile ride in was awesome and even walking to the lodge wasn't bad at all. The house just needs some upgrades and better instructions when checking-in. I'd suggest having the key to the home work on the bottom door so that when there is a lot of snow, guests don't have to get up to the top deck to get in. The cabin needs a good deep clean and dusting. However, please know that we loved it there and our girls (4 & 6) had a blast!

Great spot to stay for a wedding.

I stayed here while attending a wedding at the lodge down the street. The house was clean and accommodating, and was a very short drive (about a 5-10 minute walk) from the lodge. The lake was nearby too, but I didn’t have time to check it out.

Great rustic cabin in gorgeous area

We stayed in this cabin for a corporate offsite. Many of the decorations are a throw-back to an earlier time period. Excellent wifi, new-ish appliances, great sound system, clean though rustic. Only one issue, owner said no outside fires (this due to recent wildfires).

Lovely Cabin And Setting, Exactly As Advertised

The cabin is a lovely and spacious A-Frame. The setting is an excellent blend of rustic seclusion with access to civilization (and skiing!). It snowed about 18" during our stay giving the village a storybook feeling. The cabin's kitchen is cozy but well-equipped and we were able to prepare many nice hot dinners. The owner-managers are responsive and attentive. The property description is really accurate, which we truly appreciated. The 10-minute walk (or a quick snowmobile ride) up a snowcat-groomed road is fine for us, but a point to consider if you're renting there in the winter.

We purchased this home in spring of 2013, because we love skiing at Bear Valley. It reminds us of what Tahoe used to be with a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Everyone we have met goes the extra mile. We love the adventure of skiing in and out. After spending time there during the summer of 2013, we have fallen in love with the summer season as well. There are camp opportunities for kids from soccer to archery. There are numerous hiking, mountain biking, swimming and fishing opportunities in the nearby lakes, rivers, National Forests and Wilderness areas. Some people enjoy Bear Valley in the summer more than the winter -- our family of four loves both seasons. We hope that whatever season you chose to go that you will find the Bear Valley area as inspiring as we have!
