En helt ombyggd 1100 kvadratmeter adobe hem, med ett stort sovrum och ett fullt utrustat kök, vardagsrum, badrum med duschkabin. Beläget på High Road till Taos i historiska Truchas New Mexico. De stora fönstren i sovrummet ramar helt upp Truchas-topparna, som på 13,100 fot dominerar den omgivande landsbygden. Det finns också en extra 400 fot täckt portal för en avkoppling under din frukost middag eller happy hour.

Adobe var helt ombyggd för 10 år sedan med ett nytt kök och badrum - många av de gamla elementen som vigorna och adobe väggarna behölls. Casita är utrustad med traditionella detaljer, inklusive handsnivna möbler, plasterade väggar och trägolv.

Solpaneler har också installerats under de senaste 3 åren för att minska vårt koldioxidutsläpp.

Enjoyable weekend casita getaway

Enjoyable place to stay very clean very modern with the accent of a nostalgic Casita enjoyed my stay immensely couldn’t have picked a better place beautiful scenery. Everywhere you look will definitely be scheduling that exact Casita again.

Lovely Cabin and Great Views!

Beautiful, well maintained cabin perfect for a few days vacation. We loved the porch where we sat and watched the sky in the evening. It is a bit out there though so come prepared with whatever you will need.

Lovely, quiet, comfortable, unforgettable (in a good way!)

The adobe was redone to create an inviting, comfortable getaway between Santa Fe and Taos. The furnishings seemed to have been picked to create a cosy, relaxing home that has everything you need to step away from daily life. It’s quiet, with stargazing opportunities, and rambles around the rural, artsy neighborhood. The host makes a great neighbor..friendly but not intrusive. We’d go back in a second!

Absolutely wonderful

The house was gorgeous including the furniture; a New Mexican palace! The location in Truchas was beautiful and the views of the mountains from the back porch were stunning! It was beautifully quiet and the air was clean and sweet. We would love to visit again!

This is a beautiful casita with a great Mountain View! The owners were always quick to respond to any questions we had, and everything we needed was provided, such as paper products, cleaners & coffee. The place was really clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay!

Northen New Mexico Gem!

Pictures do not due it justice! A perfect gem in northern New Mexico. Nearby lakes for kayaking/fishing, walking distance to art galleries and historic town. Hosts were delightful and very accommodating! Making this an annual stay!

Relaxing getaway

This is our 3rd stay, and we will be back next year. The house is beautiful and we love sitting on the patio watching light play on the mountains. The hosts are wonderful—thanks for fresh eggs! It’s an easy and lovely drive to Chimayo or even Taos and nice to retreat back into the quiet of this property.

Great hideaway

This was my second stay at the Casita. If you love open space, mountain views and absolute quiet, you'll love this place. Very tasteful Southwestern decor inside and a large and fully functional kitchen. I go to write and hike, and the Truchas mountains, which you can see from the bedroom, are full of beautiful trails. I look forward to returning.

Breath of fresh air

We wanted a place to recharge and escape from our hectic life. This place is off the beaten path and lovely. The stars at night are glorious. A short trek through beautiful country to either Santa Fe or Taos. Quiet, peaceful, comfy! The hooting owl and light snow made it picture perfect. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again next time we head that way.

Beautiful and Amazing Getaway

This home is just perfect. Beautifully restored and decorated in traditional NM style. Gorgeous views. Lots of space and well stocked kitchen. Ben and Annette were very responsive to any questions and are just a delight. It was the perfect way to end 2020 and ring in the new year in this serene, somewhat off the grid, setting. We just loved it!

Beautiful remote adobe house

The location is remote but beautiful. Truchas is a ways away from everything but if you’re looking for quiet and getting away this is a great rental. We were greeted by the host dog named Buddy and the host Ben showed up soon after we arrived. We needed an extension cord to run our Roku on the TV and Ben showed up in minutes delivering one. Loved staying here and I would definitely recommend it. Lots of room and it feels like home!!!

Quiet retreat

The house is better than the pictures on line. It is beautiful and spacious with a wonderful patio that we used in the mornings and when we returned in the evening. The location is remote but easy to get to Taos or Santa Fe and the drive both ways is beautiful. We found that at the end of the day we preferred to head back to the house and just hang out for the evening. It was hard to leave!

Lovingly restored and Historic Adobe farmhouse

Lovingly restored to perfection. Large bedroom living area and kitchen. Perfect setting with patio for breakfast and dinner watching the fields change color with the sun. Owners were friendly helpful And went out of their way to share history of the area along with great recommendations for restaurants and hiking spots . Plus a bottle of wine coffee abs fresh eggs! We loved Truchas and surrounding area with the landscape hiking history and arts. Loved everything about our stay.

Beautiful and peaceful!

We really enjoyed our stay at Annette and Ben's! Their adobe was one of the nicest places we've stayed, very comfortable to come back to after our hikes, had the necessary kitchen supplies including a good assortment of basic spices and condiments to cook some of our own meals and was in a beautiful location. Ben brought us fresh eggs, shared hike suggestions and was great at getting back to us. Their place is in a very rural area which was perfect for us. We loved sitting outside on the patio listening to the many birds while we enjoyed lunch or a snack after one of our hikes. If you enjoy rural life or need to get away from the city, I highly recommend Annette and Ben's adobe!

The house was originally built in the late 1800's by my wife's family. It originally started as a one room adobe, then over the years rooms were added on. When we purchased it 10 years ago it was a three bedroom one bathroom home with last family having 6 kids raised.

We remodeled it into a one bedroom guest house - it is a totally detached home (roughly 150 yards from our house) on an acequia (dating to the 1750's). Attached are pastures where the family has bailed alfalfa for many years.
