Great location!

The house was perfect for our small family of 4! Close to Guilford green and harbor, and a small beach for the kids. The house was very clean, and the beds were so cozy!! We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely cottage; Great location to explore Ct Shore.

Weekend trip for 4 adults. House as advertised. Clean, efficient use of space with furniture you can comfortably sit in and there is room to gather with others. Good lighting. Decorated with flair and care. Very comfy beds/pillows, and nice linens. There is not a dishwasher, yet the kitchen is perfectly functional, if tight. Plan for this and you’ll do fine! Nice walks out the door and many walks and towns to explore close-by. Would definitely return!

We just spent the month of August in this home and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Upon arrival the place was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with great beds and linens, and an abundance of staples and exotic spices. We have spent many summers in the area and there is plenty to see and do. Amy was immediately responsive to any questions. We highly recommend this lovely home.

Beautiful home, very clean and well managed!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely VRBO. The owners stocked it perfectly with plenty of thick and luxurious towels, outlets, kitchen tools, spices, closet space, office, washer/dryer, cable TV, fireplace, firepit, most everything you might need to have a wonderful time. It was truly a home away from home. We had a couple quiet family gatherings too while we were here, it was wonderful! Many thanks to the hosts for going above and beyond, and for leaving us the most delicious cookies we’ve ever tasted to boot!

Beautiful Guilford

We highly recommend this property. Check in was hassle free and property is beautiful! Gorgeous gardens and plants, lovely private deck with gate. Wonderfully stocked with just about anything you will need. Amy was very accommodating and very quick with responding. Would definitely stay here again!

Guilford home

Really loved this place! Perfect location, close to everything. Really enjoyed driving Route 1 and showing my wife and mother-in-law the shoreline towns. Lobster Landing did not disappoint, and having Bishops Orchard so close was perfect. Amy was so easy and professional to work with. Loved it!

Great house and yard!

The Birders Paradise was awesome! We chose it for the location, close to the beach and to Indian Cove where we had family staying. And the description was true about seeing and hearing many birds!! But this home was so comfortable, accommodating and well equipped that it deserves extra kudos! The beds were lovely with nice comforters and super clean rooms. The bathrooms had space to put stuff in the exact right place. There were plugs everywhere to plug in and charge, and the Wi-Fi worked great! In the kitchen had all the pots and pans, sharp knives, serving stuff and spices and sweeteners we could want and not just one but two types of coffee makers. The deck was a lovely place to hang out as the yard was shady most of the day. At night there was a nicely lit path to follow. We brought a dog and there were a couple of surprises for our furry friend. The yard is pretty much fenced in, as is the deck. So we didn’t have to worry about him getting out into the busy street. They had posted the vet and the hospital numbers and rules about pets in different places. In short, if you are looking for family getaway I’d highly recommend the Birders Paradise!

Great Visit!

My family and I enjoyed spending Memorial Day weekend at this lovely cottage. The photos are very accurate, and the home is very well stocked. The owner was extremely responsive and provided great recommendations. Unfortunately the trail to the water hasn’t been cleared in a while so we found it impassable. However, it was a short walk down the road to one of the nearby beaches. Guilford is a lovely town to visit, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We were excited to find time to spend in Connecticut and Amy’s little cottage made our visit both easy, comfortable and convenient. She has a nicely appointed space with all the amenities you could ask for really enjoyed the fireplace for chili nights.

Excellent place for a get-a-way.

While in town to attend a wedding in Madison, this was the perfect place to stay. A very comfortable, spotless, well-appointed home. Birding, nature walks, and beach nearby. Amy is terrific with communication and suggestions for ways to enjoy the area, quickly responds to all inquiries. We encourage you to give this property serious consideration!

Wonderful cottage in a fantastic area

We truly enjoyed our stay in Guilford. The cottage had just the right feel for us in terms of how it was decorated and how the kitchen was stocked. The hosts were responsive and the place was spotless. Lots to see in the area, and an excellent dog park about 15 minutes away for our dog. The small beach down the road is dog friendly year-round. We had a wonderful time at that beach observing a pair of ospreys tending to their nest of little ones! Thank you, Amy and George!

Wonderful week away by the Sound!

Amy's home and property were just lovely, just as described. The house was immaculate and well accommodated, the kitchen well stocked and plenty of towels and linens. The porch was great for outdoor meals and bird watching, and I took great walks every morning with my dog around the neighborhood near and further on to get glimpses of the sea. Amy was available when I had questions about the area beaches and provided great restaurant recommendations. I fully recommend this home.

Quiet retreat near beach

We saw so many different birds, including osprey, just sitting on the rear deck. Great location to walk, go to beach and near town also. The house had comfortable beds and air conditioning through most of the house.

My mother stayed in this comfortable, well appointed, and nicely decorated house near the marsh in guilford for 1 month. Amy was extremely responsive and helpful throughout.

I truly enjoyed my stay, the house was simply cute and had everything I could need. It was just me, but if I had a group the house is well stocked. Amy is responsive and helpful with questions and things to do, places to eat. Lived up to the wonderful reviews.

The owners are absolutely terrific. Excellent communication, very professional and considerate.

The cottage was spotless! Well equipped and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable with nice sheeting. Living space and deck area well appointed and comfortable. Excellent Weber grill. My only criticism is that it was a bit difficult to walk the dog from the house as the road the house is on is a country road with very little space on either side and no sidewalks. We got into the habit of driving about 30 seconds to the beach area and walking the neighborhoods overlooking the inlets and Long Island Sound which was breathtaking. I would recommend the home without reservation; it is a good value, fastidiously maintained by A+ owners.

A wonderful place to stay

Amy was a terrific host, and we loved staying at this home! It is just as cute as the photos suggest, and everything was so clean, well organized, and thoughtfully presented. The beds are very comfortable, and the location was very close to many Guilford amenities. I would highly recommend!!

It’s a stone's throw from the LI Sound, with its beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and tranquility. The small public beach down the road is a hidden gem; there are shells galore, and families of ducks, osprey, seagulls, egrets, and butterflies. You can swim, kayak, fish, and clam (with a license), or walk for miles near or around the water. The property runs along a salt marsh, which attracts all types of birds, from finches, robins, cardinals, and warblers to woodpeckers and glorious red-tailed hawks. Sitting on the raised deck is a bird lover's paradise. Guilford and Branford have dozens of miles of hiking trails. The area is comparable to Long Island's East End and North Fork but without the crowds. It’s just a short walk to the beach, several beautiful parks, and a short drive to the Guilford Green, shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and wineries. There's music, great food, kayaking, arts, farms, theater, film - a little bit of everything. If you like a bit more culture, you can drive 16 miles or hop on the Shoreline East train to New Haven. Guilford is two hours to NYC or Boston and one hour to the ocean in Rhode Island.
