Amazing View

This was our first time to Hawaii and we picked a great place to stay - right on the water, stocked with everything you could need and very convenient to local restaurants, with plenty of options for using Uber for transportation. We loved the lanai and had a great time at Dina's Sandwitch shop on the property. There was plenty of excellent beaches to walk and watch all the boats on the water. We would definitely stay here again!

Our condo was perfect. It was clean and well organized. Our view was remarkable. We saw many whales from our lanai. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed this unit so much we booked already for 2026! Karen was excellent to work with. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous views!!!

The view was so much better than the listing even shows. The unit was clean, well stocked, and parking was very plentiful. It’s a central & convenient location with lots of shops and restaurants within a short drive. We loved every moment of our stay. Great communication from the host as well!

Everything was great. Well stocked with suplies, paper towells, baggies, foil, spices etc. Will stay again. Bed was comfortable. Awesome view and so close to the beach.A++++ couldnt ask for more.

Great Sugar Beach Condo!

My husband and I just loved this condo and the property amenities, like the pool and hot tub. We were also impressed with how well the condo and overall property are maintained. The view from the lanai was fantastic, perfect for morning coffee and a sunset drink. The location is perfect for exploring the island. Communication with Karen was a delight - she was responsive, helpful, and answered a lot of our questions before we could even ask. We'll definitely keep this lovely condo in mind for future visits to Maui!

Excellent experience and highly recommended!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s place and highly recommend staying here. It is very conveniently located and easy to get to sites around the island. She is an excellent host and goes above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and communicated very clearly and in a timely manner. We liked that the unit was on the 2nd floor as it allows you to avoid the elevator and gets you high enough for a great view. It’s extremely close to the water and the sunsets were amazing. The complex itself is smaller, very well maintained, and wasn’t overcrowded like the big resorts. The whales were very active this time of year and we observed them offshore through binoculars (which are provided) and even some closer up (within 100-200 yards from shore). There was also so much provided to make the stay easy and enjoyable (beach chairs, cooler, snorkeling gear, beach towels, kitchen well-stocked, etc.). The only thing to note is the water clarity in this area may not be that great for snorkeling depending on the time of year and winds. However, it’s just a short drive to some of the best snorkeling in Maui. I’m a tough critic and expect rentals with a 5-star rating to live up to the hype and Karen’s place definitely delivered a wonderful experience.

A Clean, Comfortable, Conveniently located, Peaceful Piece of Paradise

It was our first visit to the Hawaiian Islands and we chose Maui because so many friends had said it was their favorite Island. Of course we wanted to see all the sites Maui has to offer, sunrise on Haleakala, the road to Hana, First Friday in Wailuku, the beaches of Wailea, the Old Lahaina Luau, the beach walk at Kaanapali, etc. Every time we grabbed the map to plan the next excursion, Sugar Beach Resort seemed to be part way there. Karen and Glenn's condo is very well equipped and very well maintained, with a nice pool, good sized Jacuzzi and a stretch of beach that goes on for miles in either direction. Sugar beach resort also has an on-site tour shop where you can rent snorkel gear, stand up paddle and body boards. The great gals there were also super helpful and knowledgeable in booking various tours and activities. There's also a souvenir/clothing store, a formal clothing rental facility for folks planning weddings, etc., a registered massage therapist (who were awesome at helping get the kinks out after all the walking, swimming and jogs along the beach we did) and a fun little bar and sandwich shop, all right on-site. On our last day, as we walked along the beach walk in front of the 4 and 5 star hotels in Kaanapali, my wife and I agreed that for our tastes, never mind costing half the price, we'd far prefer our peaceful, comfortable condo 228 at Sugar beach. The only significant advantage we'd concede to the high end hotels, was not having to drive a few miles if you wanted to go out for dinner. Of course with our full sized fridge and nicely equipped kitchen we had the advantage of dinner on our beachfront balcony, watching the sun set over the Pacific! Which of course we did :) Yes, that's a 2 strong thumbs up endorsement for Unit 228 at Sugar Beach Resort on Maui.

Paradise everyday! Can't wait to return!

The condo was perfect for a couple staying in Maui. We spent most of the time on the Lenai, hot tub, pool, and grounds, venturing out once a day to eat out, and/or hit a tourist gem. ( whale watching, Road to Hana, snorkeling, etc) The weather was comfortable every day. The winds picked up most days in the afternoons, but they were not a problem. The condo was also stocked with everything you need for a day on the beach: chairs, umbrella, towels, cooler, snorkeling gear. Karen's communication was above and beyond, answering all the questions I had, and giving good advice about things to do, and places to eat. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a TV in the bedroom, but we really didn't end up watching much TV anyway. Down to the smallest detail, everything is the condo was well thought out for a couple visiting Sugar Beach. There were a few things in walking distance from the condo, but I would recommend planning on a rental car, in order to get to more places. There is a tiny bar/ restaurant on the property, and also a Hawaiian-shaved ice place, and an ABC store (convenience store/touristy stuff) within walking distance. To get anywhere else, you will need transportation. We had a wonderful vacation! Thanks Karen!

Best View in Kihei!

This condo was everything I had hoped for. It matched the description perfectly. The view from the balcony and distance from there to the ocean is incredible. The gorgeous beach made for excellent strolls each day.Great communication with Karen pre stay and during. Beautiful beach view, perfect for breakfast in the AM.

Waking up in the morning with a freshly made cup of hot steaming coffee, warm breakfast, sun beaming in the distance, the beach’s waves saluting you as you enjoy the morning through the balcony of this wonderful rental. Perfect weather, air conditioned property, provided us with snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, ice chest, umbrella, beach chairs, towels, coffee maker, and a cozy bed. Oops, almost forgot but this property has a washer and dryer perfect for those evenings after a long and sandy day at the beach.

We ended up taking a last minute trip to Maui and booked this condo with only one day’s notice. The owner quickly made it happen and everything was perfect. The condo is beautiful and the view incredible!
