Pretty Darn Amazing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fire in the Sky is a beautiful cabin with a great view. It was spacious, clean and welcoming. The staff was fast to respond when we had any issues or questions. The only issue, and it wasn’t an issue per se, there could be more pots, pans, and dishes available, maybe even small appliances, such as crockpots and keurigs.

The ice maker didn’t work and the remote for the living room tv didn’t work until I realized that the batteries were in backward. The floors definitely need some updating as you wake up the entire three floors with the creaking stairs. Location is great and check in/out was very easy.

They didn't provide trash bags for the kitchen, so bring your own bags and toilet paper. Those are little things buy it makes a difference when considering returning. Great Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very nice, and VERY spacious!! Plenty of parking. There was one maintenance issue, but the office responded extremely quickly. The pool table was an embarassment, it seemed as though it was built on accident. Don't plan on having a serious game on that table. Also the sound in the movie theater could have been better. Aside from that, we loved the place. Four stars on cleanliness, because we all had black feet and socks from dirty floors. Everything else about the cabin seemed clean.

A great location and a super clean cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at Elk Springs 3 times now. Each time has been a great experience. They are very professional, but most importantly, the cabins have always been very clean and well stocked. To me, those are the most important variables when traveling. Fire in the Sky is a bit on the older side so there is a bit of wear on things like the pool table and the air hockey. Both of them were nearly unusable for the adults. I recommend staying on their main "campus" off of Powdermill Rd. It's close enough to town and Food City but still far enough away from the town to feel like you're on vacation.I will continue to come back to Elk Springs because of my string of great experiences and the 10% discount I get for coming back.

Stay 2023

The drive to the cabin was very curvy but not horrible. The jack and jill bathroom downstairs has a very bad smell the dryer didn't work well the coffee pot had a used filter in it when we got there the ice maker was stopped up the downstairs door out to the hot tub was not locked when we arrived hot tub needed to be cleaned better and the pool table and air hockey table could stand to be updated also not many pots and pans for a big group and one of the pots was burnt in the bottom we also were disappointed that the cabin wasn't decorated for Christmas as most are when we go but overall it wasn't bad and all these things wouldn't stop us from staying again I'd just say that it needs some updating and give more attention to detail and with large groups staying there it needed more pots and pans and bigger size pots and pans i made chili one night and ended up having to go buy a pot that was big enough

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arrived a little after 9pm to a cabin that was filled with a mold smell. Called the resort number and didn't receive any help that night. We had to leave and find a hotel in Gatlinburg. The tile shower was completely covered in mold. The next day someone went over and verified our complaint. They were supposed to have cleaned the mold and installed an ozone machine. They wanted us to come back and inspect the property, but we had already paid for another hotel. They acted like they didn't want to refund our money. Finally sent a refund back to my card, but it was $50 short. Said they couldn't refund admin fee. Terrible. Worst part about it was we were meeting two other couples that also booked cabins there for our vacation (their cabins were extremely dirty too. Even had an envelope on the counter to tip housekeeping!). This caused us to have to stay 15 minutes away from them. Really messed up our vacation plans. I felt like they should have given us a full refund and some extra for being displaced at night and our troubles for ruining our vacation! Avoid at all costs!

A Nice Retreat After Galavanting in Gatlinburg

Tucked in the lovely foothills of the Smoky Mountains and away from the crowds of downtown Gatlinburg, Fire in the Sky perfectly suited our group of seven. Separate bedrooms with ensuites are such a plus, and the meandering wraparound porch provided a wonderful way to enjoy the falls colors and mountain air. The "cabin's" kitchen has a good supply of dishwater, etc. and pots & pans. The hot tub was a nice treat and being able to hook up our Roku to the home theatre was a definite plus. The location also provided easy access to several arts and crafts shopping areas outside of the downtown area, and a grocery store was conveniently nearby. Just a few quibbles: bath linens were a bit thin so maybe an investment in some that are more absorbent would be good. And, the kitchen cabinet doors were sticky and seemed to be in need of a good wash down with hot water and soap. Another chair in the living room would have been nice (we brought a rocker in from the porch), and both couches were well used as you really sunk down into them! But, when property management was informed of a missing shower liner and light bulb the night we arrived, replacement took place the very next morning. And tie backs with finials on all the living and dining room curtains would be great - it was a bit of a miss mash currently. But, all in all, we enjoyed our five night stay in the beautiful Elk Springs Resort.

The property is advertised to acomidate 14, and while it may sleep 14 the kitchen is deffinatly lacking to cook for that many people. Since we were traveling from Phoenix to Tennesee it would have been nice to provide some basic things as dish soap and trash bags. We are a large family of 11 and have rented several places around the country for family vacations and have never had to provide our own trash bags toliet paper, paper towels etc. It was definatly not as accommodating as any other place we have rented. Also there was not seating for 14 to relax in the living space or to eat together. That said location was great!

Elk Springs was very helpful in picking out the perfect house for our crew. The location was great. Our accommodations were fantastic. We had more than enough room than needed for our 8 adults. We loved the game room and hot tub. Elk Springs staff was incredibly responsive to all our needs while we were there. Can’t wait to get back over there!

I have rented with Elk Seprings before with no worries but this cabin was so dirty and furniture outdated to the point that you sat in a hole when on the couch. I was up all night for 2 nights just trying to was all the bedding for when we arrived it looked like they only made the beds not change the sheets. They had hair on them and you could tell they were slept on and the stains on the mattress covers which I took lots of pics,Gross.. Pool table was broken on one corner which affected any game. Floors so dirty that you had to leave socks or shoes on at all times. I called immediately only to have them hang up on me. So my sister and myself cleaned the kitchen and all linen including the quilts just so we could allow our family to sleep on. Very disappointed for we were excited to be back in a cabin for vacation . If I could give a zero or a negative on the star rating on this cabin I would and was socked at how my contacting management was handled.

Then shortly after was informed that check in was no longer delayed. Informed the dryer didn’t work 1 hour before check in. We had 15 people including an infant and was unable to wash towels during our stay or any clothing. There was trash underneath one of the beds and the pull out couch linens had not been changed from previous stay.

Lack of Security Cameras is Alarming

Reviewer Comments: Started with criminal activity with ZERO cameras at the entrance / exit points of the property. Cameras would (1) DETER this activity and (2) Give guests a chance to let law enforcement provide assistance. Rain made the vacation week less than ideal, but the actual property where we stayed was nice and clean and everything worked. Our family made lemonade out of the lemons we were dealt and enjoyed our time in the Gatlinburg area.I will never stay in an area / resort like this that doesn’t at least have security cameras at the entrances/exits of the property. Worst time

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two bed was with no sheets, kitchen had no pots to cook in, the smell of the kitchen was the worst once we got it, it smelled like there was boiled eggs. There was a wolf at night tried to get in the cabin while the kids were playing upstairs we had to scare him off the kids didn’t sleep all night!! The hot tub was dirty with spiders all over!! Hockey table needs to be replaced it was broken!!! We had the worst 2 nights in this cabin!!!!
