Very nice to place.

We had a nice stay at the condo. It’s a good location and has a nice view. Nice to have the amenities of the small resort available as well. Not too bad of a walk into town and taxis are available if you’d rather not walk. No complaints at all about our stay,

Feb stay at sunset fishermen’s.

Had a great time spending 5 nights at the condo. Everything was clean and had no issues. Enjoyed walking the beach and being walking distance from 5th ave and the surrounding area. Spent a few days enjoying the area and just hanging out at the beach. Was also good location to go on a few excursions on the other days. It was a perfect 1st trip to Mexico for us. Can’t wait to visit again.

Wonderful stay

Our check-in was a breeze and our room was even ready early so we had more of the day to enjoy the resort. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The welcome bowl of fruit and coffee and tea were appreciated. Location has a great beach, easy walk to restaurants and shops and staff and guests were very friendly. Krystal promptly answered all our questions and had great restaurant suggestions. We are thinking of going next year and staying longer

Perfect beach and place to stay in Riviera Maya

Play Car Phase 1 is NOT, just Playa del Carmen. My family and I love Playa and have stayed everywhere from Mamaita's Beach to Xcaret. But, Playa Car Phase 1 is special. It is private, secure, and on the beach. Play Car Phase 2 is great for families and those that like to wake up and watch the wildlife. However, of the more than ten places I have stayed in Playa del Carmen I believe this was my favorite.

This was are first time at Fishermans, we stayed at this property for three weeks. The staff are wonderful , very helpful and pleasant The location was perfect, right on the beach . The seaweed was picked up off the beach daily . We were close to down town a 15 minute walk. It’s a gated community with double door security to your room. We had a few different things arise in our condo unit but Krystal ,the property manager, the owner Doug and handyman Sergio took care of everything immediately . We appreciated having a restaurant for lunch at a good price. We were so happy we chose Fishermans ! Thank you Doug , Krystal and Sergio And all the wonderful staff at Fishermans. We have already booked for next year WOO HOO ! See you then .

Best of Both Worlds - Private/Quiet Condo Pace with Hotel/Resort Conveniences

Just two minor negatives. (1) The resort's "hot tub" is more like an adults-only wading pool. It is not heated. Not a problem for us, but for others it might be disappointing. (2) A/C could not cool the room during the day. We called for maintenance help and they told us the unit was not capable of getting any colder. Again not a big problem for us. We were outside during the day and the night's breezes cooled the room perfectly. MANY positives. The beach/pool area is on par with a 5-star resort. Plenty of chairs, sofas, and areas to relax. We NEVER had a problem getting a place. In preparing for the trip, we had excellent communication from the owner. The resort is inside a gated community with its own security. Downtown Playa is an easy 10-15 minute walk down the beach. The onsite restaurant is fantastic. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My teenagers had fun getting something called a "chocolate wrap" and back massage at the onsite spa. Of course beautiful view from the balcony. Very convenient with washer/dryer for our suite area. The room is VERY comfortable. Kitchen had everything we could have needed. Lots of towels and easy access to the suite's linen closet for fresh towels at any time. We would definitely come back here!

Property location is excellent. Grounds, beach and pool areas is very nice. There was an issue with the door lock that did not work properly so a key was left in the lock for us at check in (not very secure!. The wifi in the condo did not work at all during our stay. We were told that the service provider was working on the wiring and it would be back in service soon. Did not see anyone working on any wiring and the hotel lobby internet was working just fine. Not a showstopper but a real inconvenience.There was an issue with tiny bugs in the unit. These seemed more prominent in the kitchen area.For a unit with a king bed and a hide-a-bed that could accommodate 4 people we were only provided with 4 bath towels, 1 face cloth and 1 hand towel. There were no tea towels in the kitchen and only 1 dishcloth. More towels should be provided. Cutlery was a total mix of different styles and many had been bent and had been attempted to be straightened again.A couple of extra nice things to have would be a couple of chairs inside the unit and a lounge chair on the deck. The deck is lovely and big so can easily accommodate this easily.

We had some issues with sand flies crawling on the walls and a couple of cockroaches. The manager and the property owner were very diligent to give us bug spray. The internet was very slow. The location is perfect. We loved the pool and the ocean. The staff were great.

I would have to say that the property represents as fairly average overall. It’s a studio unit with a king bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, bathroom. Small but adequate patio with view of ocean and table with four chairs on patio. Disappointed that bed had no proper pillows. Just four decorative pillows not appropriate for sleeping on. Resort in general is a tired property. Seaweed minimal on beach but smells quite bad. That is not a reflection on the resort but a problem plaguing much of the beachfront properties in the Caribbean. Unit was adequate and with a bit of attention would be much more desirable.

Really loved the location. Residential area, but close enough to walk to where all the action is if that’s what you’re looking for. Ruins right across the street. Very comfortable room. Great view. Very pleasant staff at resort. Restaurant is decent. Great pool. Would love to stay there again!

Don't hesitate, it's amazing!

This place was so beautiful, especially for the price. It was clean and overlooked the beach which is steps away. The resort is the Sunset Fisherman. It's a small resort and very friendly and safe. The staff were so kind. They have a restaurant that serves a rotating menu which is delicious and affordable. The resort was very quiet and away from the hub-bub of Playa. The walk to Playa is an easy and safe 10-15 walk through a quiet neighborhood or a 15 minute walk up the beach. You won't find a place that is this affordable and right on the beach like this place!

Awesome view

Really enjoyed my stay at this spacious condo unit! It has an amazing view of the ocean, and the beach is a little more than a stone's throw away. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is great if you want to cook in. I really appreciated the purified water jug! The walk to 5th Avenue where all the shopping you could ever want as well as dining options are available if you want to change it up. The restaurant's on site are pretty good if you don't want to leave and just enjoy this great place. The infinity pool is great and again just a short walk to dip in the ocean. Would stay here again!

Vacation Bliss

Doug & Krystal's corner condo was the perfect size & location. Breathtaking view of the ocean. 250 steps to the ocean shore (I counted). The unit was spacious and small kitchen area sufficient. Perfect size refrigerator & very nice to have a little coffee to start off. Always had access to a water jug refill upon request! A pleasure to not have to go out and purchase wine glasses as per the norm with many rentals. In our mid sixties & having visited many hotels and resorts, we were flat out thrilled with the comfort of the bed. Just WOW! By far the most comfortable bed that we have ever experienced-a foam topper and at a height where you didn't have to climb up into the bed. We did mention to the managers, in a respectful manner that the AC needs some attention as does the sliding glass door to the balcony, and the entry door side panel really needs to be more secure. We couldn't be more pleased with the resort as well-large enough to be re-pleat with many amenities that you would see in an expansive resort, small enough for staff and management to pay attention to details. All of the staff were wonderful and we met so many fantastic guests and owners. A mini-lending library. Pure joy to have had the opportunity to experience Sunset Fishermen's Resort! Many pools, outdoor showers, the loungers were VERY comfortable & shade umbrellas. Soft ocean floor. Sargasso not too bad. Would have like to see more beach clean up though. Loved it here! Thank You!!

Great Beach Stay

Perfect studio for two adults. We enjoyed ocean views from the balcony, walking into town for lunch and supplies (10-15 minutes), and overall safety and privacy of the location. We cooked dinner most nights at the condo and the hot plate, microwave and toaster oven were sufficient.

Sunset Fisherman's

The property is nice. Our unit was 3 flights up so our legs got a workout. However, that meant we had a lovely view from the balcony. The room is large with a king size bed and sofa on the opposite wall. 2 TV's so you can watch from bed or sofa, not that there's much choice of programs in English. Adequate kitchen. 2 burner hotplate for cooking as well as MW and toaster oven. Big fridge. OK bathroom. Tons of closet and shelf space which is often unusual in these kind of rentals. Good AC and 2 ceiling fans. My one complaint is that the sliding door out to the balcony needs repair. You need muscle to open and close it. I would've reported it to the hosts, but I lost contact with them right after we checked in. I didn't have a phone number to call or text and the email quit working. The location is safe and quiet. Food and drinks are available on the property. Lots of walking to get to the part of town with the shops, bars, restaurants and the ferry pier. Taxis are readily available if you're willing to pay. Overall, if you're looking for a place on the beach that's quiet and family friendly, this would be a good choice.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this resort / studio apt. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The pool side bar / snack bar had good food and drinks. The restaurant that was onsite was good also. The people working here were all friendly and very helpful. Getting into town was easy, it was a short 15-minute walk. Getting a cab from the hotel was also very easy and reasonably priced. The only thing that needs some improvement is the resort need to get some more umbrellas for the beach.

I am a US citizen but I spend most of my time here in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. My first trip here was in 1984, but I did not return again until 2004. In 2005 I decided to buy my first property here. Although I still maintain a lake house in Massachusetts, an apartment in Manhattan and an apartment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this is my home. In addition to the local Mexicans and Mayans, you will meet people from all over the world here. We have had guests from countries like Germany, Holland, South Africa, Israel and others, as well as Mexico, the US and Canada. Everybody who comes here falls in love with the place, and I am sure you will too.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Even though I love other properties I lived at in Playa this property offers me the most peace and tranquility. It has more of a private beach than other resorts and just close enough to town when I want to venture into the excitement. The staff here is extremely friendly and very accommodating to my every need

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

I fell in love with this place because of the spectacular ocean right in my back yard. The powder soft sand between my toes and the multi-colored ocean waters is enough to make you not want to go home!
