Excellent experience

Ideal location with beautiful views of the Ouze River and the city. Easy access abd short walks (5 to 10 minutes) to the city, Shambles, Minster, pubs and restaurants. The space was clean and comfortable. It would have been ideal if the place was equipped with a clothes dryer, but other than that, it was perfect for us.

All you need and more

Absolutely fantastic location, apartment is perfect warm clean and spacious, easy check in and it has everything you need to make you feel at home. On the water front with a two minute walk to the town centre, we would highly recommend it, this is the second time we have stayed in the apartment and we will be back again.

Perfect place to stay!

My husband and I spent four days in York earlier this month. When I am looking for an apartment, my most important criteria is location. Woodsmill Quay was absolutely perfect. Overlooks the River Ouse, which is beautiful at all times of year and situated between the Ouse and Skeldergate Bridges, which gave us quick access into the city center. Clean, secure, and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

We go to York at least 2 times a year. We have used this app. before, and will come back in October.

This apartment has all we want for a relaxing holiday getaway , Good beds and good location overlooking the River Ouse.

Best location!

Excellent stay! Location is ideal - many evenings we sat and watched the activities across the river. Did the same in the early mornings. All attractions, restaurants are within walking distance. Safe and clean. Everything we needed. Would definitely come back.

Great apartment overlooking the river

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights. The location was excellent - an easy walk from the train station and an equally easy walk to all the York attractions. We loved sitting by the window and watching the pubs across the river and the boats going past. All basics provided and even the sofa bed was comfortable.

Great location. Poor heating.

This property has a very good location and view, with a river view from the window and close to the city centre. However, maybe the wooden floor in the property is not so solid in some parts and it makes a sound when you step on it. And multiple parts of the heating in the property don't work well. For example, the heating in the bedroom would switch off by itself. Even if I made sure the heating was on before I went to bed, it would switch off when I woke up. This resulted in me catching a cold during my stay; and the heating in the doorway needed to be turned up very high to work. Still, the staff at Stays York were very nice and brought me a portable heater after I informed them of the problem with the heating.

Brilliant apartment

Down for weekend. Near city centre just a walk across bridge. Loads of wee extras tea,coffee milk. Only down side lift wasnt working but not sure if this was due to the flooding York had

Ten out of ten

The apartment is a short easy walk from the train station. Communication with the property manager was excellent; prompt responses to a couple of questions we had. The property is close to York sights, good restaurants and to a Sainsbury Local if you’d like to buy your own groceries. A Marks and Spencer is not far across the Lower Ouse Bridge. The apartment is immaculate and well appointed. We’re very pleased to have spent a few nights here. And the view across the river is very pleasant.

Week in York

As we arrived in York by train we were advised by Stays York that our apartment was cleaned and ready for us. This was 2 hours early so we were delighted. It is about a 15 minute walk from the railway station with suitcases. We had stayed in No 30 before. It is very well equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and it is sparkling clean. There is a welcome pack of milk, biscuits with lots of Yorkshire tea and coffee provided. It is ideally suited for easy access to the town facilities and also exploring the surrounding area by train. Across the River Ooze there are outside tables and bars which do create some noise mainly on Friday and Saturday nights. However if you close your windows you do not hear anything. The views from the windows are splendid with boats of all types going up and down the river. I highly recommend this apartment and would have no hesitation in going there again.

Wonderful accommodation in the perfect spot

First let me say that the photos in this listing are EXACTLY true to the apartment. What you see here is what you will be getting. I felt like I had already been here when we arrived as the photos are so accurate. The location is perfect. You can walk to everything within the city walls - all of York's tourist attractions, local supermarkets and numerous restaurants. I loved the view of the river. It was great to watch the boats going up and down and the hustle and bustle of the bars on the other side. I was worried that they might be a bit noisy but did not disturb us at all. There were more little welcome touches in this apartment than I have ever come across before - fresh flowers, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, 3 types of biscuits, milk in the fridge, coffee pods for the coffee maker and even a bar of chocolate. There were plenty of cleaning products and cloths - I took the ones I brought with me back home! The information provided about the apartment was very detailed and the check in process was very easy. Just one tiny thing to note - there is no parking with this apartment. However, we were informed of this in advance and used a parking app to park our car for a week at a really good price. In summary - the perfect apartment in the perfect location and all at a great price. We had a wonderful time.

Perfect for a weekend break in York

We were delighted with the accommodation at 30 Woodsmill Quay which had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend break. The apartment was spotless and the kitchen really well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic views of the river with much to watch day and night! The location is only a short walk from the railway station and everything York has to offer.

Lovely apartment

Lovely apartment ,very clean& it was lovely to find milk in the fridge when we arrived, there was plenty of tea & coffee sugar etc. Also lovely little welcome hamper. Very impressed with the lovely designer bedding. There was also a very decent hair dryer . There were a couple of things I would change ,the window blinds didn't cover the Windows very well, I think curtains would be better. & maybe a few more towels. You only get 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per person ,that's ok for a weekend but we went for a week.Also a very well equipped kitchen. Not that I did .much cooking

Fantastic value for money

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at woodsmill quay and our time in York. The apartment is very well appointed, so close to the city centre, quiet and great views. It was very spacious for the two of us.

A lovely presented unit in a fantastic location

Highly recommended...

Just returned from an enjoyable time in York. Our apartment was bright, clean and very well-appointed and fully as described. Alison welcomed us in person and we settled in quickly. Late-night noise from bars across the Ouse is a factor which those seeking complete peace and solitude may wish to consider! However, the noise levels were not unacceptable to us.

Close to everything in York

This unit has a great view of the river and the centre of York across the way, and is just a short walk from everything you will want to see and do -- ten minutes gets you up to the Shambles, the Castle, the Picture House, or the Station, 15 to the Minster, the Museum Garden, or the Train Museum. There's a grocery store round the corner, and several good pubs nearby. Great restaurants round the corner on Mikelgate, and the less crowded Bishy Road, both just 10 minutes away on foot.. You might hear the students and hen parties out drinking at a couple of pubs across the river, but if you close the double glazing, you won't hear a peep. The building itself is quiet and clean - we barely heard anyone else moving next door or above. The place was spotless, and cleaned regularly. Lots of maps and brochures on what to do, a very thorough instruction binder, and excellent advice from our hosts, who could be reached by text anytime with really quick response.. And thanks for the coffee, tea, and fresh cut flowers for our arrival.

Perfect. Clean, new, great location, nice view, attentive owners.

This apartment is located across the river from a bunch of bars, this was the only thing that made me slightly nervous about staying here. That said, even with the windows open you could barely hear any noise on a warm summer weekend tonight. This place was wonderful and we would absolutely stay there again. It was clean, nicely Furnished, fully equipped, and an historic building, and the owners were very attentive to our needs. The place is set up as a one bedroom, but our daughter was able to sleep in a comfortable pull out couch in the living room, this was much better than staying at a hotel. I highly recommend this apartment.
