Penthouse in paradise

Great accommodations in a very safe area with a three minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and lots of adventures. Truly the best view we have ever had with a VRBO—the ocean and Diamond head from every room.

The views!

We loved the floor to ceiling windows. There's not a bad view in the whole place. Even the master bathroom has amazing views! The building is outdated and smells a little weird, but the actual unit was clean, updated, and great. Would 100% stay here again.

A Perfect Family Getaway: Spotless and Scenic!

We recently stayed at an Captain for a family getaway, and it was an absolute delight! The place was immaculately clean, which is always a top priority for us. But what truly took our breath away was the magnificent view from the property. Our family of six had plenty of room and enjoyed the stay immensely. The amenities were fantastic, and everything we could have needed was right at our fingertips. We had such a wonderful experience that we're already planning our next visit. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a spectacular stay.

Amazing Penthouse

This was an amazing penthouse with breathtaking views of diamond head and Waikiki beach. This PH may have the best condo views in all of Waikiki. The place was very large and had all the amenities. Washer and dryer in unit was key for families. While the building is very dated , the condo is modern and fresh.

You can see both Diamond Head and the ocean, which is a beautiful blue color. The apartment was spectacular with plenty of space, 2 great bedrooms and 2 full baths. Fully equipped kitchen. Building has nice covered garage and a pool with barbeque area. Walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!

It was in walking to the beach and restaurants and downtown shopping. Best of all was the view from this 38th floor PH! Floor-to-ceiling windows provided front views of the ocean, side windows viewed Diamond Head, rear bedroom windows the mountains and frequently a rainbow would appear! The apartment while large and comfortable was beginning to become a little shabby with peeling cabinets in the kitchen. In need of a little refurb.

Amazing views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Remarkable views from every room- and on the 38th floor, it was our quietest stay in Waikiki so far. Very clean, modern, and enjoyable. Property is well located and safe. We felt lucky every time we turned around and had another set of windows to see the ocean, Diamond Head, and the mountains. The only downside was that the photos showed a tennis court on the property (this doesn’t exist anymore, it’s a turfed area with lounge chairs and picnic tables), and we packed our tennis racquets with plans to play tennis all week. The property manager didn’t have a solution to that when we called about it. Although the promise of a tennis court was a big part in our decision to book, we would probably stay again because it was such a lovely condo and with views that truly are unparalleled.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The views lived up to the hype but everything else about the unit was underwhelming. Considering the price paid I expected the unit to be in much better condition. The rest of the building is in major need of an upgrade. The property manager was not all that accessible in the few chances I tried to reach him and I had to wait over an hour to access the unit as it was not clean.

A view from the sky

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Phenomenal sunrise to sunset views. You can see helicopters flying at the same level as the condo, so you get to stay in a nice condo at a level that others pay a pilot so they get a bird's eye view of the island. Funny observation from my MIL: When we went to hike diamond head, my MIL opted to hang out at the bottom because she said there's no way the view at the top would be better than our condo. Point taken! Each bedroom is very spacious. We had 5 adults and 1 toddler in the space and did not feel crammed at all. It was nice to have a full kitchen and dining space. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need. Dishes, cookware, coffee maker and corkscrew. There is a bar to sit at while others cook. Much more relaxing than the stress (and cost) of trying to get two adjoining hotel rooms. Wifi was strong and reliable during our stay. We had multiple iphones/ipads and laptops online at the same time with no complaints. I believe there was an issue getting the chromecast to stream one night, but then we remembered we were in paradise so we went outside to walk around. The building location is walking distance to everything in Waikiki. There are lots of beach gear in the closet, so you can take those things and conveniently walk to the beach from the condo. The building is a bit older, you can see the age on the common space, but it is maintained just as well as any of the other buildings. ABC stores at every corner, so you're never far from any necessities. The folks at Captain Cook were very nice, professional and responsive. You can tell they care very much about helping you make the stay enjoyable Very very very happy with the memories we made there. Mahalo!

A couple of unexpected events

Had to wait for elevator a number of times. Fire alarm went off one night and a majority of the tenants evacuated. This caused a long line for the elevators once it was determined that all was clear. No water or AC for 5 hours one day due to some maintenance issue. Views were fantastic, but no open balcony.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect place with a corporate kind of modern vibe. Went there to work and unwind - and wow did I have the "I hate to leave" blues. It was that nice. I found myself wanting to take 1 more look before leaving; I walked out the door exactly at the check-out time to ensure I could enjoy every second. 2 easy blocks from the beach, and a perfect 1 mile walk to Leonard's for a morning malasada each day. The views are spectacular. I find myself thinking I should give it a horrible review so it's available to me next time, it's that nice. Aloha.
