The Westcott House was perfect for our large family reunion. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We especially appreciated the extra drink refrigerator. Having two kitchens was helpful for such a large group. The playground and playroom were a great touch and very appreciated by the parents in the group. The owner was responsive when we needed something and let us know ahead of time that someone was coming over to mow the lawn. About 15 minutes from Luray and 30/40 minutes from the park. I would highly recommend to any large group!

Family getaway

This was just what we needed. We had a family of 30. Included were teens that enjoyed having a separate space and pool table. The upstairs main room was so spacious and the tables were set up like a restaurant. Perfect for meals and mingling. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. We would stay here again.

Second to none!

This house was phenomenal. The photos are great but I have genuinely never been to a place where the house is better than the pictures. The rooms and beds were so comfortable, the activities were plentiful and amazing, and the fire pit was one of the best setups I have ever seen. Definitely would recommend booking here

Hill Family

23 of our family gathered here for three nights Thanksgiving week. We had a wonderful time...pingpong tournament, fire pit and plenty of room to "chill" if alone time was needed. The lodge is very well equipped...beautiful setting and well worth the $$

Great experience

We had a great experience; the rental is in great shape. It is well cared for, clean, and well stocked. In addition to out-of-town guests staying here, we held a rehearsal dinner for my son’s wedding. This was a great venue; the 35 people were comfortable and entertained.

We love Westcott!

I booked Westcott House for a cabin weekend with friends in October 2023, and we had the most amazing stay. I feel like the pictures don't do the house justice - it's so nice inside, HUGE, clean, and the beds are super comfortable. There's a wealth of outdoor space for activities, and it was nice having privacy with such a big group. Would highly recommend to large bookings - we will be back!

Great place for a big group

This property is very comfortable and has plenty of amenities for a short weekend stay or longer. We had a great catering company and Chef from Maintstreet Bakery help us out with some terrific meals. He prepared a lunch for 12 for our first day and then a bbq dinner with Ribs, chicken and more, also for 12, for Friday night. Food was delicious! Chef Chuck Arnaud is the owner and he and his staff did a great job.

Family Week 2023

We really enjoyed out time together in the Westcott House. There was enough space for all of us to feel comfortable. Plenty of things for the children and teens to do. We loved the activities in the National Park, and on the river. Of course the Luray Caverns were also a hit. Our family rates this a TEN!!! Great place!!

Wonderful spot for our second stay here for our staff retreat

A group of 25 teachers gathered to enjoy professional development and relaxation at the Westcott House. We had a wonderful time relaxing in all of the cozy spots and enjoying the pretty views of the fall leaves. We were glad to see the deck boards replaced from our visit two years ago. Our only complaint this time is how many stubbed toes we went home with from the raised bath mats! The property is wonderful and we hope to return again!

Perfect spot

We rented this property for a get together for us, our children and grandchildren. It was perfect for our family. A lot of space for the children to play, they enjoyed the playground, and game room. Kitchen was spacious and very well supplied! We loved the decks and picnic tables and the many comfortable sitting areas with plenty of comfy couches and chairs! We also loved the location, it is out by itself and in a very pretty location. We will use it again!

Large Family Perfect!

This place is massive, so much space for everyone and perfect areas for gathering, gaming, eating, etc… The outside porches have great views and the grounds are wide and well kept. It’s an older place and it’s been “lived in” so if you want immaculate perfection, this isn’t you. But for a large family or event .. can’t go wrong. 100% will be back again.

Amazing and Beautiful

My husband and I decided to have our wedding here, and it was absolutely amazing! The host was great at communicating as well as very kind. It was the perfect size for our group to stay in and we all felt like we had our own space without being stacked on top of each other, and the outdoors area was just right for our number wedding guest. Be wary of the bugs though, they get absolutely crazy at night and are quite large, but it’s absolutely worth it for the amazing views and gorgeous house. (I attached some pictures of the outdoors space but they’re a bit blurry)

Great time at the Westcott House

The Westcott house was such a great experience for our family who traveled to Luray, VA. For a family wedding. There was so much space in the house. Clean upon arrival. And had many amenities that I do not remember reading about prior to our trip. ( ice machine) The smaller tables made great tables for a Euchre game and the large table made it perfect for a game of Five Crowns

Fantastic property

Fantastic property with tons of space inside. The kitchen had everything we needed. Linens provided was a huge plus. Easy check in process/checkout process. Clean up was a breeze with the provided house keeping service. The outside of the property has two big fields, playground, picnic benches, and a bonfire with wood provided. We had a group of teenagers and they all loved it. We also loved being so close to the Shenandoah for tubing and took advantage of Luray Caverns close by. Under the deck needs some cleaning . We encountered a lot of bugs and wasps while outside All in all would highly recommend. Bring bug spray if staying in the summer.

Dream One Year Anniversary Celebration at Westcott House

We are so pleased with our experience from top to bottom! We looked at several venues to have our 1yr anniversary party & Shenandoah Rentals stood apart in terms of customer service, offerings, price, & ease. Laura was incredible, helping answer our questions rapidly (on weekends at times!), setting up a tour, & ensuring we had everything needed to make our stay incredible. We had additional people traveling from out of town & Shenendoah Rentals provided us a listing of their nearby properties that many of our friends rented & raved about. The Westcott house is incredible - spacious (even for our large group) & offered so much to make our trip enjoyable - the large yards were perfect for outdoor games, the fire pit (with wood included!) made the nighttime magical, the poker, ping pong, & pool tables provided entertainment at every turn, & the spacious bedrooms and numerous bathrooms made sure our group was comfortable. Highly recommend for a large event in the beautiful Shenandoah!

An Unforgettable Stay – 5 Stars!

Our group of 16 women had an incredible stay at Westcott House over Valentine’s Day and President’s Day weekend. This was our second time here, and once again, everything was exceptional! The home is immaculately clean, well-maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The beds, linens, and towels were all high-quality, making for a truly relaxing stay. The amenities were a hit—we loved the fireplaces, hot tub, pool table, and the peaceful, walkable surroundings. The property’s secluded setting provided privacy, yet the WiFi was strong and reliable. Laura’s customer service was outstanding—she was always quick to respond and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Our caterer/chef also raved about the well-stocked kitchen, which had everything she needed and more. Some of our group visited Luray Caverns, just a short drive away, and loved the experience. Perfect House for Fun

PERFECT HOUSE FOR FUN Our big family had a wonderful vacation at the Westcott House. We loved the open spaces in the house, and how sturdy the house was built. Rustic looking, but modern feeling. It was quiet and peaceful. We felt like we were all by ourselves in a beautiful wooded setting with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but we were really minutes away from Luray. World-class kitchen upstairs with all the amenities. Nice touch to have coffee K-cups ready to go in the morning. We all enjoyed the fire pit, the grills right near the picnic tables, and a lovely playground for the little ones to enjoy. The hot tub was an added treat after a day of rafting, tubing, swimming and hiking. Full kitchen downstairs which made it very convenient for entertaining. All of the beds were comfortable with plenty of linens and towels. We would definitely recommend the Westcott House to any group – big or small.
