My stay was 11/3/16-11/5/16.
When we got to the street where the house is (by the very vague directions on the website), it was already dark. I had trouble finding the house because it is at the end of a driveway, and there are no numbers posted anywhere. I finally had to ask a neighbor with a flashlight for help. As soon as my headlights hit the house, I knew something was wrong. There were 2 ladders and tarps blocking the front sliding door entrance, and one propped up on the upstairs balcony. I went to the backdoor where the key was hidden, and saw multiple piles of trash, paint cans, buckets, tools, and other evidence that this house was being painted. What followed was about 10 back-and-forth calls to Vacasa to straighten this out the next day. They assured me that they would have the mess cleaned up, so we left for breakfast. Two hours later, we come back and find a truck parked in our driveway. The painter is there, PAINTING THE HOUSE. This was one giant problem, but not the only one. This house is a dump. The one source of heat downstairs, the gas fireplace, was so loud that we could barely talk over it. We turned it on for a few minutes to warm the house up, then shut it off to get some reprieve. It sounded like a chainsaw. The kitchen was filthy, with cobwebs and mold inside and out. The fridge has been painted white. How do I know? They left the drips running down the side to dry. The back door looks like a bear tried to claw it's way out. The crunchy turquoise carpet that the website is so proud of is a health hazard that gave my dog fleas. The staircase is not up to any building code-if you have young people, or old people, do not put them on this staircase. The treads do not accommodate your feet, and they are dangerously pitched. The blinds are broken, the lamp held together with duct tape, and my favorite "fix" of all time is the knuckle bandage used to deter you from flipping the switch on the wall for the internet. Yes, they put a knuckle bandage on their wall. It is so gross. The furniture is at weird angles, one couch facing the loud heater so that it blocks the heat from the rest of the room. There is a fireplace there, but not one piece of firewood like the website said there would be. I would never trust it to work anyway. The write-up on the house is super savvy, and the pictures do not look like this house, so do not be fooled. It is a nightmare at every turn. If I could have left the minute I pulled up, I would have.
