Tastefully appointed, with everything my wife and I needed for a lovely two week stay. It's clear the hosts created this space mainly for themselves and their friends. (They treated us more as guests than customers.) The original artwork, white fabrics, and glass details could easily be trashed, so if you want a place to party, keep looking. On the other hand, if you want a peaceful, well-located base from which to explore Lisbon, as we did, this one is nearly perfect.
Breakfast and nightcaps on the terrace: amazing! The small but highly functional kitchen let us gather ingredients and try our hand at local recipes. Easy laundry. Cozy spots to sit and read. Good light. Everything just worked.
We fell in love with Príncipe Real. Just off Rua da Escola Politécnica, surrounded by great restaurants and unique shopping. Blocks from a strange and wonderful natural history museum. Easy access to the popular tourist spots—but also a relief from them.
We rented a car for day trips: nearby parking is €14/day.
Cautions: This is a four story walkup—not difficult, but I felt a sense of accomplishment each time I reached the top. The bedroom door's low: watch your head. When showering, some water always managed to spray or drip, but blotting it up took only a moment and became routine.
The hosts are a class act. Attentive but not intrusive. Protective but reasonable (we weren't charged for breaking a plate). Genuinely helpful and interested in our wellbeing.
Strongly recommended!
