South Hams erbjuder många fantastiska turistattraktioner och Sheperds Cottage ligger på kanten av Dartmoor har utmärkt tillgång till A38 som gör att du kan utforska de fantastiska södra skinkorna och däröver.
Inom en 20 minuters bilresa kan du utforska den historiska havsstaden Plymouth, Bigbury Beach med Brugh Island berömd av Agatha Christie Novels, Dartmoor eller vandra de vackra klippvägarna i Newton Ferrers och Noss Mayo.

Brilliant property

Set on a working farm it was superb. We enjoyed the property and the fishing was great. We caught good size Carp and lots of small Roach. It was a very relaxing place to stay.

Perfect property with fishing a bonus!

We enjoyed a lovely, peaceful week. The property was spotless on arrival and had everything we needed including a fabulous power shower. There were plenty of utensils, pots, pans etc for self catering. The fishing lake was a real bonus for us and we caught some lovely carp. For us the location was perfect but it's worth mentioning that the driving can be a little tricky and the nearest large supermarket is about 15 minutes drive away but this is to be expected in a rural location. We would consider returning for a week of rest and relaxation.

Perfect

Lovely little place with everything you could ever need. Handily located for the coast, Dartmoor and Plymouth. Ugborough is a lovely village with two great pubs, we ate in The Anchor and it was delicious with super pints of Jail Ale (if that's your thing!).

Lovely cottage

Comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Easy to get to both Dartmoor and the coast from there. Lovely garden. Within walking distance of Ugborough and the pubs there. We had a relaxing stay and would return if staying in the area again.

I took a break in February, just my dog,and myselfwe. The bungalow was absolutely spotless, The location,was perfect for us,with the lounge,overlooking a lovely garden,with a little stream,with a solid stone little bridge across to the large pond/lake,which was completely fenced off,so Malakai could run free,while i fed the Carp,and enjoyed the wildlife and views acrossacross open fields the

Perfect Little Spot

We’ve been looking for somewhere to stay whilst we visit family in Plymouth, as we have a baby under 1 we needed kitchen facilities. The Garden Cottage is situated in such a beautiful location that is rural but you are only five minutes from the main road. The whole property was spotless, we had such a variety of amenities and a lovely welcome card and biscuits. We really enjoyed our stay and it felt like a home away from home.

Rural retreat

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Garden Cottage. It's a lovely cosy well equiped little place tucked away down a lane only leading to the farm. The welcome tray was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent We found it was a convenient location for us to base ourselves to catch up with family but be aware that you will be driving along some very narrow lanes!

Lovely bolt hole!

A lovely place to stay - the sat nav found it easily which was a relief. The owner was very friendly, and the cottage was clean and fitted out with all that you could want. The fishing lake was well stocked and we enjoyed some peaceful fishing there. That area of South Devon has much to explore but it was just as nice to relax in the cottage and surrounding garden. All in all, a wonderful break!

Perfect base for exploring South Devon

The Garden cottage is in the perfect location for exploring South Devon, situated just a couple of minutes from the A38. The cottage itself is in a very peaceful location, with very dark skies and no road noise to be heard. Nice kitchen, comfy settee (the living room is basically a conservatory on the front of the old barn, which makes for nice all round views of the garden) and a copy bed. Great for couples.

Excellent Cottage

Well equipped cosy and warm. Ideal base for exploring the area. Really nice lake alongside the cottage. looks like it is well stocked. Even I caught a few fish in March!!. Lovely welcome when we arrived. So quiet and peaceful. Weather for us was ok but can imagine it would be wonderful in the summer. Looking forward to a return trip. Graham & Jan

Calm, green and friendly

The house is very cozy, we especially loved the garden and the view on the garden from everywhere in the little cottage. It's green, it's peaceful and also very clean and neat. Rachel and Alex were friendly and very discreet. You can visit the coast, nice little villages as well as places in the Dartmoor national park. We liked the footpath to the nearest village Ugborough. And the people in Devon are so friendly! We strongly recommend a visit!!

Peaceful & quiet, in easy reach of all that we wanted. had to stop to listen to the silence. Access to the lake and being able to fish was a real bonus. We were hosted in a relaxed way and were reassured that they would be available if necessary. The property was well equipped and the sofa bed worked well for the third person- we felt that the space worked fine for three people. My wife described the location as bit of Eden!!

Immaculate cottage in beautiful location, perfect for exploring Dartmoor and the South Devon coast

Me, my mum and my dog Maude recently came home from a lovely week long stay at The Garden Cottage. The cottage was immaculately clean which is a top priority in current times. The bed was comfortable and the cottage had everything you could need. Rachel was a lovely host and saw that we had settled in to the cottage well. We were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding the cottage, eating outside on sunnier evenings and going for walks around the fishing pond which was a real treat! We would highly recommend The Garden Cottage to anyone wanting to explore this part of the country and we would love to visit again.

Perfect get-away

This lovely cottage is the perfect place for a peaceful, tranquil step off the day to day grind of daily life. The cottage itself is beautifully clean and very well equipped. It's beautifully light and airy and the pond opposite with the fish is a lovely spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine. It's location is perfect to reach Dartmoor and the coast, all within a short drive. It was great to be able to bring the dogs who had a wonderful holiday too. The 2 pubs in Ugborough - The Ship and The Anchor are both great for food and the fish and chip van which visits the village on Weds evening produces a brilliant takeaway. We look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful picturesque garden cottage

Absolutely peaceful and tranquil break. Hosts very friendly. Cottage extremely clean, bed very comfortable. The view from the living room was fantastic. Sitting by the fishing pond at the end off the day watching the fish and listening to the little lambs bleating was just so peaceful. The only downside which was only a slight inconvenience is the cottage doesn't have an enclosed garden. Not so much off an issue for us as our girl is quite obedient but we did have a moment on the last morning when she saw some girls walking away from the main house and ran after them. She came straight back when whistled but I can see issues if your dog is a little more mischievous.

Immaculate cottage with pretty bedroom and lovely kitchen diner and in beautiful relaxing setting

We had a perfect week in this lovely cottage set in beautiful gardens leading onto a fishing lake. The kitchen/diner had everything we needed and we loved sitting down to breakfast with views onto the garden. The lounge area was lovely and bright with windows on all sides making the most of the garden views. The bedroom was really pretty and we woke up to views onto the garden and lake beyond - we saw a grey heron in the early morning on a couple of occasions. Lovely comfortable bed. Great shower room. The cottage is about 3/4 mile from two lovely pubs The Anchor and The Ship. Great food in The Ship. It is close to Totnes and Dartmouth and the stunning South Devon coast. We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday and could not have asked for more. It was lovely to come home to the cottage and just relax beside the lake with a glass of wine. Our two dogs enjoyed themselves running around the lake! We can't wait for our next holiday in the cottage. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Stephens. Lorraine and Hugh (and Daisy and Tim the Shih Tzus!)

We had a perfect stay in a cosy holiday house on a sheepfarm. Enough facilities, friendly owners, beuatiful gardens, excellent area: natur, historic buildings and villages, a pond to fish, local groceries, etc, etc.
