Family vacation getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family came together in Gatlinburg for a short stay and had a great time at this beautiful cabin! The cabin had everything we needed, other than being short on toilet paper for 14 guests (after running out the first night we learned we needed to get our own). It was also close to many things like Food City (we made several trips), downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Dollywood! We had a great time and it was a beautiful place to meet up with family for a long weekend.

The house was very beautiful and clean. It was easy to access and host kept us up to speed on how to access the property and leave. Beautiful views and accessibility out on the porches. The only 2 concerns were that the house address was not correct on Google maps and outside trash cans were too small and could have been emptied a couple times during our week long stay since bears were a concern,

I was disappointed with the “starter pack” of toiletries provided. We had 9 people and the supplies did not match the number of people we paid for. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans. There were missing pieces of flooring in the kitchen. This could be an issue for small children. We enjoyed the game room upstairs but during the day it would get up to 80 degrees in that room, even with the a/c on. It didn’t cool down on the 3rd floor until 1-2am. Kinda miserable for the folks sleeping in the bedroom up there. We had a hot water issue and were very thankfully for the quick response to that issue. They switched out the hot water heater while we were gone for the day. The house overall suited our needs but seems a little run-down. The bannister in the 3rd floor was a little shaky and the beanbag game was broken.

Perfect vacation cabin for large family!

The 3 story cabin was spotless and kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable! We stayed four nights and bears walked by on two occasions which was thrilling to see. Game room and theater were popular. We needed to buy an undedicated Roku remote to stream in movies. Jacuzzi was clean. Close to Gatlinburg on windy roads. Near the arts community. We hope to return and pick the same cabin! Thank you!

Extended Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 12 stayed five nights in Diamond in the Rough. We had four vehicles and it was a little tricky for parking. We made it work but we weren't positive we parked where we were suppose to. The third floor was very warm in the late afternoon, early evening. If the cabin had blinds in the game room it would help. Maintenance did come out promptly and looked at it.The kitchen was stocked well with pans, utensils, cups, bowls and plates. The ice maker ran out of ice one day and it took a while to refill. The decks are spacious with rockers on each level. A corn hole game was available to use. We used the grill with no trouble.We needed more pillow cases and they came promptly. When we asked for more toilet paper we were told we needed supply it ourselves. Which surprised me, I assumed they'd ant to control the type of toilet paper that went into their septic system. I did pack extra trash bags, paper towels, dish soap and laundry soap. The drive to town wasn't too bad. About 15 mins. Walmart and Aldi was a 20-30 minute drive. Food City with a Starbucks was about a 10 minute drive.

From the booking process until the end of our stay, we were informed on what to expect, check in / out process and given area information which was extremely helpful. The cabin was in a great location and had plenty of space for our group. The Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and enough dishes making it easy to cook our meals. Kids loved the pool table and movie room. We would returned to this cabin in the future!

It was a wonderful experience! The cabin is beautiful and has amazing amenities! We enjoyed the hot tub, theater room, game room, and king size beds! The arcade wasn't working, but the resort called to check on us and when I mentioned it, a serviceman came and fixed it within the hour! We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone with a large group.

The projector room had wall instructions that said use HDMI 1 but we found out it was 2. Also there was only a stand alone BD player in the theater room with no apps on it like Netflix. Also. The projector was misaligned on the Screen as well. But this was a small issue for the overall trip. We will be back for sure.

Staff with Elk Springs called to make sure check in was good and let us know to call if we needed anything. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at elk numerous times in all different cabins, this cabin by far was the worst. We decided to go with a pet friendly cabin this time the carpets had stains. Not very clean, then we had the experience of squirrels in the house, I got a 5 bedroom so we all had a room and we wound up losing 2 nights of sleep and slept on couches. I called to let them know about the rodents inside our rooms and they did nothing. I called 2 days in a row, no maintenance and no call back the second day. Don't think I'll be going back after all these years.

The cabin was very clean. We did have a few issues with roaches. Parking was a bit tight as well. The TV’s in the cabin were terrible. The cable system did not work well at all. The first 3 days we had the cabin, we couldn’t use the theater room. Maintenance did come and fix it fairly quickly. The kids did love the game room. The heat in the cabin was uneven. The downstairs was cold and when we turned up the heat to warm the downstairs, the upstairs was roasting. The front desk was very responsive and we appreciated that. I don’t think I will rent this cabin again.

You need rugs, one long one by the hot tub door, it’s slippery and dangerous. You need another large rug by the front door, in and outside.Grilling tools, we had to buy a spatula (which we left there for the next group)The area rug in the living room smells, replace it. Label all the switches in the main areas and update the instructions in the theater room, it doesn’t even have the right brands. And, just pick up the garbage every two days, especially for groups our size, and you should supply more tp, dishwasher tablets, sponge and garbage bags. Adjust those supplies based on group size and time of stay. Guests should not have to worry about that stuff.The lighting in the kitchen is terrible making it difficult to cook at night, even replacing the bulb with a brighter one would be helpful. The kitchen towel that was hanging in the sink smelled like mold and needs to be replaced.Other than that, it was great. Plenty of towels, it was clean and lots of extra blankets. I’d recommend this cabin. Thanks!
