Welcome to spend your vacation in our Villa in ĂsterskĂ€r! Next to the Beach, Archipelago and to Stockholm City.
10 min walk to the beach and beach restaurant.
ĂsterskĂ€r is one of Northern Stockholms exclusive suburbs. You have the ocean just a short walk (300-400 meter) away - in 3 directions. You can take a swim both at the beach and at several bathing jettys.
The City of Stockholm is reached very easily - only 30 min drive. Either with car or commuter train. 5 min walk to the train station. Private parking at the house. If you are interested you are welcome to also rent one of our cars.
Bicycles, toys, large professional trampoline are free to use as much as you like.
Our kitchen is well equipped and you have 2 barbeques outsideon the deck. You will find several grocery stores in the area - 10 minutes by bicycle, 5 with car and 5 with the train.
Restaurants nearby offer beach restaurant, sushi, pizza, Thai, Mc Donalds, fine dining etc.
History of the area ĂsterskĂ€r
In 1906, Roslagsbanan opened to ĂsterskĂ€r for freight traffic. Among other things in ĂsterskĂ€r, there was a smaller feldspar and quartz mine as well as a mansion (Tuna GĂ„rd). During the 1900s, plans to make ĂsterskĂ€r an exclusive suburb was settled, and several large villas were built along the coastline. Influences came from Djursholm and Saltsjöbaden. At the time a beach, ĂsterskĂ€rs Havsbad (more popularly known as SolbrĂ€nnan) was built and ĂsterskĂ€rs steam boat jetty was completed in 1912. During the 1920s and 30s, more and more holiday homes were built and became a summer residence for many Stockholmers. The big expansion of full-time residents took off in the 1970s and now more or less the entire peninsula is built on. ĂsterskĂ€r has relatively high real estate prices compared to rest of Sweden and is one of northern Stockholm's exclusive suburbs.

Welcome to our new house. We planned it and built i ourselves during 2 years to fit our family with a little bit older children and to meet the living standard that we have dreamed about. Now we have lots of space in our light, modern, Nordic styled villa and still living in the wonderful suburb close to Stockholm called ĂsterskĂ€r.

Only 35 min away from Stockholms City you will find the combination of Stockholm and harmony combined with boatlife, visiting the Archipelago and water adventures. Here is the place to experience a real Swedish summer! The house is situated on a calm street, 300 meters to the sea, several boat decks, 2 beaches, beach restaurant called SolbrÀnnan just 10 min walk away.
It is 2 km to the closest food store and the local shopping centre.
Vaxholm, capital of the archipelago is only 20 min away by car. Here you will find shops, restaurants and pubs. There are possibilities to rent canoes here and ferries leave on regular bases for trips further out in the archipelago and there is also a ferry that will take you to Stockholm City, 45 min ride.
20 min from the the house ( by the commuter train or by car) you will reach TĂ€by Centrum one of Scandinavias biggest malls with 180 shops, restaurants, gym and movie.
