Kathleen, As you know, we provide a personal orientation to all our guests and encourage them to call or text us with any questions or issues that arise. We have returning guests every year without similar issues as evidenced by our reviews. As shown in the website photos, there is not a patio, but rather an outside deck that is not screened and only contains six covered chairs, a glass table with umbrella, a covered storage locker for the chair covers and a pot of petunias. We have the home professionally sprayed for spiders inside and out in the Spring and address any cobwebs in preparation for every guest. However, a spider let into the home can spin a new web in 15 minutes or less. It is a lakefront home. I wish you had informed us at the beginning of your stay of your concerns rather than through a review after you departed. I guess some would see living room throw pillows as clutter while another would enjoy them as comfort. Joe

Sue, We're glad you enjoyed your stay! The shallow 2.5' retaining wall does have two steps down into the water that may be awkward for a very small child or disabled adult but does not preclude access. I would encourage guests to communicate with any host about trailering and docking boats before they submit a formal reservation request. Many guests rent pontoons which are not affected by the limited wave action. Joe

Lori, You may have overlooked the dry goods storage available under the kitchen breakfast bar and cupboards in the adjacent laundry room because the walk-in pantry is equipped with a large assortment of cookware, storage containers and small kitchen appliances. Additional space for luggage has been provided in bedroom closets. We’re glad you enjoyed all the other amenities we offer. Joe

Linda, As previous guests have attested to, my wife and I take pride in our home that we share with others and the many that return. As you know from the orientation we provided upon your arrival, we personally prepare the property for guests and encourage them to contact us as soon as possible if any issues arise. During your stay on both August 3rd and August 8th, I texted to see if there were any issues or questions, as we do with every guest. You texted back in both instances that, “All is going great! Thanks for checking in.” There was no mention of issues with “days of cleaning” until you requested $400 from us for cleaning following your departure. Had we known there was an issue, we would have responded immediately since our condo is only 30 minutes away. On August 18th I responded to your text requesting $400 by explaining that we do not charge a separate cleaning fee and expect guests to leave the home as they found it. Joe

Chris, We’re glad you enjoyed your stay! Because the previous guest did not report it, we were unsure whether water in the boat was from rain or a small leak? Since you requested an early arrival and had brought a larger boat, we agreed I would check and repair the smaller, complimentary boat if you requested it. It was a small rivet leak easily repaired by an aluminum, marine epoxy. We are planning to provide a portable, floor model, air-conditioning unit for the upstairs next summer in addition to our central air-conditioning. Our guests are always encouraged to let us know as soon as an issue arises so we can respond quickly to address it. Joe
