A great apartment in a perfect spot!

If you would like to see and live like an inhabitant of San Francisco, this is the place for you. An original place with a lot of character and perfectly situated. You will enjoy the friendly town and parts of it you maybe miss if you stay where the other tourists stay, at the Embarcadero. There is a big Safeway nearby for groceries and of course a lot of restaurants. Our favorite was Chow, which Mary recommend. Don't miss out Twin Peaks. And there was no problem driving by yourself, easy to find things and to park, including at Mary's. We would love to return for another vacation.

Classic San Francisco Home

This is a sweet home with a classic San Francisco design. It is well located with restaurants and bakeries nearby and within walking distance of Golden Gate Park. Inside, our family group of three found all the rooms very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We were also very please to have a parking space right in front of the house. We'd stay here again, no question!

Friends from out-of-town

We needed a place in SF near our home for out-of-town guests and this house was perfect. It had such personality and represented SF perfectly. And the wine and snacks were much appreciated by all.

Gorgeous green house

We loved the house - especially the kitchen, it is perfect for family, The place is in a fantastic neighbourhood(Lower Haight) a 4 min walk from major transit lines and close to wonderful cafes, small grocers with fruits and veggies, and a wide choose of restaurants- also with walking distance of Buena Vista Park and Corona hill where you can take in gorgeous views of San Frn and Golden Gate bridge

Delightful house in a great neighborhood

We loved Mary's place, a 10 minutes' walk away from our daughter's apartment and close to so many fun places--we ate breakfast at a different spot every day for 5 days (no, we didn't cook once)! The colorful decor was fun and the back yard is sweet. If it doesn't rain when you visit you'll enjoy it! Be careful stepping in and out of the claw foot tub/shower, though, especially if you're short and a boomer, as we are.

Like house sitting for a friend

It’s hard to put into words what we liked so much about this place. Mary’s house felt so warm and welcoming. It is definitely a personal space, but not so much as to be cluttered and intrusive. We really enjoyed our stay.

OSL weekend’24

The house was perfect for my party of 6 before and after our days at the festival. We loved how close it was to the Muni station and Safeway. Mary was a great and easy host to communicate with as well. Would do again!

Perfect location for San Francisco visit

We really enjoyed staying at Mary’s place as it was comfortable and interesting inside as well as perfectly located for Muni and bus routes in all directions to all key attractions in the city. An added bonus was the attractive local area aid selection of shops and cafes to walk to. Mary was also very helpful in responding to any queries and providing advice. Recommended!

Exactly what we were looking for, Exactly what we needed.

It was so nice to stay in Mary's home. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and snacks. Her home had everything we were looking for; great location - near the freeway and restaurants, bars and shops but very much a neighborhood. Her home was comfortable with a lot of charm and personality and not a sterile, boring environment, beds were comfortable, backyard space was an added bonus. There were written, clear instructions for any questions we might have had. We would definitely stay here again.

Mary's place was wonderful!

We had a 5 day intensive of 11 hour a days and it was a saving grace, everyday, to return to this special space. It was a wonderful home in which we could rest and recover. Two friends and I shared the house. The space was great for 3 of us. We felt so lucky to have such a great space. Great location also!

This house is a piece of history that has been updated for modern living. Built before the 1906 earthquake it has great character and presence. The high ceilings and the softwood floors enhance its warmth and sense of home.

I grew up in an older home built by a Czechoslovakian builder in the midwest. For me this house is the closet thing to that original family home. It just feels right.
