Poipu Makai B-1 är ägarnas andra hem under tre månader av året. De fortsätter att uppdatera både inventarier och möbler i enheten för sin egen komfort och njutning, såväl som för sina gäster. De har dekorerade hela tiden med verk av lokala hantverkare. Andelsläget ligger på en bluff med utsikt över den hisnande Stilla havet och ligger bara hundra meter under kanten av en lång utdöd vulkan, Poipu Crater (sist aktiv för 40 000 år sedan).

Gå upp på havssidan (makai) genom ett fullt utrustat kök till matsort Lanai. Det är en underbar plats för frukost att titta på valar och delfiner som gör fantastiska aqua-feats. Om du tittar direkt ner ser du antal Honu (havssköldpaddor) och många olika tropiska fiskar. Denna plats är utmärkt att smutta på en kvällscoctail och titta på en solnedgång; var och en är hisnande och skiljer sig från alla andra. Du kommer att förstå varför Poipu-området kallas "Soliga sidan av paradiset" på "Trädgårdsön".

Denna attraktiva lägenhet på bottenvåningen innehåller två sovrum på inre sidan (mauka), var och en öppnar mot en liten trädgård i japansk stil. Det stora sovrummet har en teak-himmelsäng, king size-säng och badrum. Det andra sovrummet har bekväma enkelsängar. Ett andra badrum ligger tvärs över korridoren för användning av alla besökare. Perfection out your lanai!

4:30 am while still sleeping, we experienced terrible high-pitched humming noises when the sprinkler system ran. Also one bedroom had a noisy mini-split ac.

It’s All About the View

We enjoyed watching the whales and beautiful assortment of birds right from the lanai. The beds were very comfortable. A for that! However, the property is quite dated and there is nothing luxurious about it. The primary bedroom does have a commode and shower, but the shower stillIs TINY! The unit is very nicely appointed with beach chairs, etc. All in all, we would stay again just for the view. Also, the pool is very small - truly just for dipping - but peaceful.

Absolutely Gorgeous location

Condo is older, but very well taken care of and so pretty! Every room had a welcoming aloha spirit and basic needs were available to use. We were very respectful of the owner's goods. We washed dishes and washed most towels. Extremely grateful!

Second Time, both great!

Reviewer Comments: First time two years before, this time was even better: New appliances; new ductless air conditioning (albeit, a bit noisy for about an hour after shutdown); walk-out to front lawn; improved swimming pool and grill. Improvement request: you really need to improve the sliding door lock in the second bedroom; or, at least highlight the secret to making it work. Had advance contact with Management company, always great! No problems.

Location, Location, Location

This property is so well located. On the water, beautiful views, beach walking in either direction in minutes, local shops, fun restaurants.... It is also fairly quiet, except for the crashing of the surf. A great place to stay if you want to explore Kauai, after you soak in the morning quiet and ocean view from the lanai.

Nice Property - A lot of ants though

The communication and booking were easy. The property itself was nice, but could use a thorough deep cleaning. There were ants everywhere: kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms. We couldn't leave anything on the counters without it getting attacked by ants. The floors were cleaned with a very slick cleaner, and felt very oily/ greasy. Other than those minor issues, the view was beautiful, the mattresses/ pillows were great, and the kitchen was very well stocked. My family very much enjoyed our stay.

The property smell bad, furniture are out of date, beds are in very bad condition my mom and sister got a back pain because of those beds, We did not like this property at all. We have been in this Island before and this is the worst property We have ever been to.

We won't stay here again

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The decor is 70's. The unit has so much mildew and musk that I had to sleep on a mattress in the living room with the door and windows open. The parking is horrible and the outside entrance is very dark. The only good thing about this unit is the view. We stayed 10 days and will not rent a unit here again.

Amazing location and view but read the entire review

This is an amazing condo with million dollar view and location. Whales and turtles everyday to great us and we would stay again. The only issue was how dirty the place was, including dirty sheets, kitchen and dirty underwear with pad in the main bedroom. We washed the sheets grabbed cleaning supplies at Walmart and took care of iit and it was amazing after that. Management was responsive and offered to refund some but then we never heard back from them and no refund for cleaning. Even after all of that we would not hesitate to stay again and again!! This place is amazing.

Views don’t make up for maintenance issues

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hot water heater was broken for 2 full days and needed to be replaced. Smoke alarm was broken and incessantly made sounds for 2 hours. Both issues were fixed but are examples that the condition of the appliances and maintenance of apartment caused our stay to be much less than optimal. View makes up for a lot of negatives but I would expect that paying 5,000$ for our stay everything would have worked and not needed maintenance to come multiple times. Late checkout request was denied, also disheartening as we had a 4pm flight out.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented for 35 days. Entry way is dark and was dirty when we arrived. Master BR has serious mildew/mold; one wall has bubbled and peeling paint with dark spots. We had cold like symptoms, runny noses and eyes, headaches which were better when we would stay out for extended hours. Shower/toilet closet had septic smells often. Ice maker didn’t work, tiny ants on counters, windows were dirty in/out. Rugs were filthy, our feet were filthy from stepping on them, mattress pad cover had fluids on it, kitchen door had no weather stripping and didn’t shut completely, decor pillows dirty. Noise from tenants walking above woke us up through the night, it wasn’t anything they did, building is poorly constructed. People next to us had same issue. Louvre windows should be replaced with glass, they allow moisture in the bedrooms. Another review appropriately compares the bedrooms to caves. Other review mentioned mold/mildew; also agree this unit should not be in a rental pool as it is clear these issues aren't taken seriously. The “pool” is only a dipping pool and doesn’t get much sun. Kitchen utensils were old and barely adequate. The cost is not appropriate to the condition of this rental unit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful spot, turtles abound, easy access to all the key beaches and shopping and unit has good airflow. Nice Hawaiian decor but not beautifully furnished compared to many other places we stayed in Poipu. But, the unit needs some upgrades. TV, DVD operation is ridiculous. A simple app speaker like Sonos is needed so you can listen to your online stuff. Doors in/out and on cabinets need help. You have to be careful when using all. Bedrooms are like caves since windows face walkways so blinds stay closed. Not much can be done about that. Need to update glassware.

Great Sunsets, that's about it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The sunsets from this property are just beautiful...every night! This unit could use some maintenance, The slider screen was separated from the frame at the main slider, the bathroom exhaust fan did not work, meaning that room was fiercely hot, the toaster did not work and the slider in the back bedroom (twin beds) did not open. A good once over would be useful. Plus, we were aware that this unit is not air conditioned, however, the ventilation in this unit is dreadful and the unit was far warmer than other units we've rented on this island without A/C. There was probably more ventilation in the units that were above ground level, but not here. Being the bottom unit made the days after 10 am really hot and the late afternoons with prior the sun setting were really difficult to take.
