Wonderful home, well stocked, literally cross an alley to access the beach. It was a wonderful stay. I would suggest a key ring/carabiner/keychain for the key and child safety outlet plugs for the bunkbed room. Marquette park is a must, especially for a nice shorter sand dune hike with young kids.

This house was amazing. The walk to the beach was just 3 minutes, no stairs, so we could pull a wagon full of supplies (and easily run back if we forgot anything). The house was spacious and charmingly decorated. Lots of comfortable seating areas. We had 2 toddlers and really liked the fenced in yard and the fact that the deck was level with the back door so no stairs for the little ones to fall down when heading outside. The house was also conveniently well stocked so we didn't have to rush out to the store. Margaret responded promptly when we had a question. We definitely plan to book again.

The house is in a great location! The cleaning could have been better and the grill isn't in good shape. The selection of pots, pans, bowls, and utensils isn't great. We only used two of the beds, and one of them had no sheets, pillow cases, or blankets in it. Other than these minor issues, the place is beautiful and right by the path to the beach.

Overall the home was wonderful. Great outdoor space and closer to the beach than we thought it was going to be. House was clean and had everything you would need. Great open living space and kitchen. My negatives were:- Path to the beach was over a small dune and the older people in our group had a hard time with that.-The stairwells were also steeper than we imagined.

Hi Steven, Thanks for choosing our home for your stay, and we are glad you enjoyed it, and its proximity to the lake! Unfortunately, the path to the beach changes with the seasons, and is entirely outside of our control. I'm unclear about your comment about the stairs, as our stairs passed all inspections for standard code requirements. We appreciate your choosing us, and do hope that you will come again!

Well-equipped, cozy, comfy cottage just a few steps from the beach. Extremely well-stocked kitchen with an open floor plan made it easy to cook, entertain, and visit at the same time. Very clean and very quiet.

Wonderful stay

We stayed for 3 nights for a friends trip. The house was very nice, with a lot of room for hanging out inside and out. The best part was the proximity to the beach. You can easily walk to the beach from the house, and the owners provided beach chairs, towels, a wagon, and other beach needs. We had a lovely stay!

We have already reserved for August 2023 because we love staying here. The house has every amenity, the children love the hot tub, and the beach is so close. We had a wonderful time.

The house was located in a great spot, quick walk to the beach. The lot was large and pretty but the outside furniture was disgusting, nothing like the picture. Stains on the cushions and really need an overhaul on yard furniture. The lights in the kitchen flickered all the time. There were no hooks or places to hang anything in a few rooms. Would’ve also liked to see garbage cans in rooms. The dishwasher didn’t clean and some dishes were almost too big to put on bottom rack.It is a cute house but for the money, a lot of outdoor needs upgrading.

The perfect beach house.

Everything you could want in a vacation property. Elegant yet comfortable house and beautiful garden, steps from the beach. The children loved the spacious hot tub, making s’mores in the fire pit and lounging on the huge deck in back. Can’t wait to go back next summer!

We only had a few days together as a family and didn’t want to travel far from Chicago. We were so lucky this house was available. Really great location, just steps to the beach. We enjoyed hiking in the Dunes and relaxing together at home.

Another great time at The Beach

The location and amenities are perfect for a multi-generational family vacation. We had another lovely time and plan to be back again next year. I think we've finally found "our" spot on Lake Michigan that meets all of our needs. After a second year stay, it feels like a home away from home.

Great beach getaway!

This cottage is very family friendly for cooking, playing games, gathering together either out back or just across the street at the beach. The Chicago skyline is amazing on this beach and when conditions are good, the sunset is second to none. This one is a keeper!!
