Second stay here. Leonard is a very good guy. He's available to you at a moment notice. If something is wrong he is very apologetic and trys to fix the situation. But at the same time leaves you alone to enjoy your stay. And there's some really neat stores in town. Plus the wildlife is right there for you to see. And the scenery is awesome.

Love this property and host!

We've been here multiple times and we absoutely love it! The host is one of the kindest and most humble host's we've ever had! My family loves it here and the fact that its dog friendly and so much room to run makes it even better.

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and i stayed here with our dog. We all had a great time. The house was clean and the property was beautiful. Theres a lot of mowed land for our dog to run/play and my husband loved going out on the lake to fish.

A quiet and pleasant stay

This location was perfect for a couple of days away. It had modern conveniences as well as a feeling of a getaway. It was overall a great two days away and I would recommend it for anyone who wants beautiful views and a quiet escape to enjoy themselves!

Fishing getaway

We had such a relaxing time! Saw awesome wildlife, caught a fair amount of fish for the cold weather. Would definitely go back!

My family had a great time. We went fishing for hours on the pond and there was plenty of fish. I would definitely recommend this house for a relaxing weekend.

Relaxing weekend getaway.

Had a great weekend catching some pan fish. Having a row boat on the property made the fishing easy. The fish were biting. It was a great weekend.

Most amazing weekend ever!!

I absolutely loved everything about our stay, the house is absolutely beautiful. Communication with the owner was outstanding, very friendly! Has everything you need. Fishing was amazing i love the row boat me and my fiancé caught so many fish. I brought my dogs as well and they had an amazing time. They loved running in the big field and even went in a water a bit, we will 100% be back our new favorite place to stay!!

Great stay - peace and quiet and amazing property

We just got back from a long weekend at the property - great little house on its own pond with an enormous amount of property to walk/explore. Enjoyed eating on the deck and watching the wildlife (ospreys diving for fish), and the general solitutde. Leonard welcomed us and was super friendly and helpful, and Honesdale is nearby and a great town. We are planning to return as it makes a great stopover for a visit to nearby relatives. (*If you have a dog, this place is fantastic - ours did not want to leave lol).

Lovley quiet place overlooking the lake .

we were guests here for the second time and we will come again for sure. the house is clean and has everything you need. we were very happy there, we sailed the boat and we caught fish, there is really big bass here. our dogs were safe and happy taking a bath in the lake. Host Leonard very helpful and kind. visited us and asked if we needed anything and if everything was okay. Thank you Leonard

DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS

This place is dirty,dirty,dirty. The deck ripped my socks as soon as I walked on it. Terrible deck. The back side of the house is infested with yellow jackets and wasp nests my dog got stung and wasn’t himself the rest of the trip. The pond is gross. No swimming hole. The fishing wasn’t very good as listed in the reviews. The oven didn’t work, the fridge was leaking making the floor soft around it. Place smells of mold and there is mold on some of the interior walls.the kitchen floor is scary to walk on certain spots it flexes and has a big cut in it. Had one roll of toilet paper in the place, one trash bag, the oven didn’t work so we tried the grill which the propane was empty, the hose on the house was off and the owner lied to me the first day and said it should be on but the next day he told me the plumber didn’t turn it back on from the winter. Wanted to wash out the kayaks.ITS JULY!! There was a huge pile of trash on the front porch that wasn’t removed till I called and complained about it. Leonard is not good with communication and kinda not friendly like it seemed. It’s like we were bothering him and when he did show up he didn’t announce himself and just started spraying the deck area with a can of bee spray. When I told him about the yellow jackets and the wasps, he simply said “well that’s Mother Nature”. We couldn’t enjoy the deck during daylight.no curtains on any of the windows so the wife didn’t feel comfortable. Too much money DON’T BOTHER!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!

We arrived at the property to find the house to be a bit run down grass wasn’t cut. Plants growing out of the gutters When we entered the house to the smell of mold Where we entered was the laundry room behind the washer was the cellar entrance where the mold smell was the strongest I walked into kitchen n felt the floor had a soft spot There was raw chicken n hotdogs left in fridge The rear deck was a bit rough as well The rooms in the house was ok as far as I could tell it did have a window ac But with the mold n my wife with breathing problems we decided not to stay n book a hotel Mold can cause many health issues so bring a mask

Not what I expected

I wanted to get away from NY and spend a quiet evening in the porch drinking a hot cup of cocoa. When I arrived the front of the house was not completed shoveled, there was ice hanging from the roof at the front door. When I checked the porch I found it completely covered in snow. I understand it had snowed, but if you are expecting guests that are paying to stay, it should have been properly maintained. Disappointed that I paid to do the same thing I would have done at home and could have saved me $600.00. Very disappointed.

Comfortable and Serene, The Perfect Getaway

We just got back from celebrating my mother's 90th birthday, visiting her home town in upstate New York. Prior we looked for a place that we could stay during our three day adventure and came upon this house in Pleasant Mount, PA. We almost felt as if we were the first to stay here as everything from the appliances, dish/glass ware, flooring, beds/bedding, the entire interior including the windows and doors were new and renovated. The view from the rear windows and deck stretches out across the large private pond reaching for miles to a distant mountain range. Every time we saw this view we mentioned how perfect, peaceful and beautiful it was. For celebrating a milestone birthday with my mom, the home was perfect and helped create a memorable experience for all of us. We were very grateful that we came upon this house and it was available during the time we needed. Leonard was exceptional with his prompt communication with us. It made it much easier getting this getaway organized. We appreciated the fresh eggs we received both days to make for breakfast. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you Leonard!

If you are looking for a peacefful relaxing time....

Wasn't hard to find at all. Leonard had written directions for us in case GPS didn't reach our phones. He stopped by after we had settled and asked if everything was ok. That impressed me. The living room furniture was very comfy, you could really relax. The kitchen was well supplied with condiments and spices. We had everything we needed. My boyfriend loves to fish, the 8 acre lake was so well stocked! Everyday he was out on the rowboat Leonard supplied. He caught lots of Black Crappie, Sunfish, Bass and a few Perch. He estimated almost 100 on his line, but put all back in water. As for our two dogs, the 50 acres of fields were the perfect place for them to run free since they are both hunting dogs. Never ever had to leash them, bet they thought they were in heaven. There was even a few creeks in those fields where they could refresh with a drink of water.

Rundown house with mold

Pulled up to house and saw the outside was dirty and stained green. Noticed the grass wasn't cut and the steps were rotten. Opened the door to the smell of mold and mildew. Fridge had old packages of chicken in freezer. Not toilet paper or wash cloths. Deck was in rough shape and gate couldn't be hinged shut due to lack of maintaining it. Called vrbo as we read other reviews about his unprofessional behavior with others. We stayed overnight and packed up and left the following morning as the mold and smell were terrible and was effecting my breathing. Called host to let him know we left and he immediately was yelling at me for calling vrbo. Paid over 800$ to stay one night. This place is definitely nothing like you see in the pictures. Those must be at least 5 years or older. Went into basement and found mold in the ceiling joists and places where the floor was removed due to this problem. Took about 50 pictures and will be asking for a full refund!!

BEWARE: BAIT & SWITCH (OLD PICS)

Entire property a dump. As soon as you arrive you notice green all over the siding, weeds at the front entrance and overgrown tree limbs hit you in the face, the yard was like a fresh hay field so thick with cut grass. When you enter it is open shelves with linens/open rolls of toilet paper/rat poison/mold and kerosene smell from open basement. I had to clean and sanitize EVERYTHING due to mouse droppings and filth in drawers/counters. Mouse traps all over the house. Soft spots in kitchen floor. Kitchen sink leaks had to put towel down to catch water; notified owner but noone came by as told they would. The stove has a glass top and looked as if not cleaned in years. Coffee pot dirty in and out. Fry pans with RUST and peeled teflon (could not use). Had to go buy $45 worth of cleaning products, dish cloths, wash cloths, dish towels because only one we did find had hair in it. I had to rewash all the bath towels before using due to hair. The sofa and love seat were stained and worn out (sink when sit). One window a/c unit in living room so we could not close the bedroom doors or it got hot (no privacy). A leak in the queen bedroom ceiling dripped beside bed when it rained (had to catch with bowl). Texted the owner and his comment was simply didn't know. Broken twin bed, stained carpets. No fan in bathroom, dirty. Deck falling apart with holes/rot. Lake overgrown no bank fishing, one very small cut out for tiny row boat, could not swim/sludge. Owner always disputes bad reviews!

The house was not clean. The kitchen floor had soft spots that felt like at any moment you could fall through the floor. The listing was deceiving, it states that it is 50 acres but what it doesn’t tell you is that the house is 20 feet from a busy road. We brought our two dogs (beagles) with us thinking they would have plenty of room to run and play but we couldn’t even let them go outside without being on a leash due to the road being right outside of the house! The pictures of the house are obviously from years ago. The outside of the house is very dirty and covered with mold and mildew. The non stick pans that were supplied were scratched up to the point of being useless. It is extremely unhealthy to use teflon pans that are scratched and these were so bad that the Teflon was flaking off the pans. It was an extremely disgusting and disappointing experience overall. I would definitely not recommend this house.
