The home and property are lovely and the communication with owners was prompt. They even left a welcome bottle of wine which we enjoyed
That said, there were some things that were missing or not ideal for the home. As someone who utilizes home rentals frequently, I was surprised by some of the set up. There is no closet space, no hangers, no armoire or even a dresser. No where to unpack and keep clothes tidy.
The room configuration is very awkward. The upstairs has three bedrooms. Two of those share a Jack and Jill bathroom, the only bathroom on the main floor. The other bathroom is in the downstairs bedroom. That means there is no access to a bathroom for the third bedroom or from common space, without walking through someoneâs bedroom. Not ideal for middle of the night or early morning needs.
For entertainment, there is an older model TV in the kitchen but you canât comfortably see it from the living space, and there is no smart access. So the last rainy foggy night before we left, we would have loved to watch a movie, but had to rearrange the living room to watch a network movie on direct TV, with commercials and limited choice. Fine, but not very comfortable or contemporary.
Finally, the access. It is a 1.5 mile narrow single lane steep twisty drive up and down, on a working farm so there is always bidirectional traffic. It was such a hassle getting in and out that once there, we wouldnât want to go in to town for dinner, and coming home in the dark was dicey. Not very convenient for coming and going.
The house is comfortable and if you can stand the drive in and out, views are fantastic! We even saw a mountain lion in the distance on our last day. Overall it was lovely but didnât feel like the most accommodating of home rentals in terms of details.
