Magnificent Victorian Beachfront Estate på Mandalay Beach

Detta hem i 4000 kvadratmeter viktoriansk stil har 100 fot strandfront med panoramautsikt över havet från alla tre enheterna. Det finns en linda runt däck framför stranden med en uteplats som har en naturgasgrill och eldstaden.

Huset är indelat i tre enheter som bara kan hyras tillsammans. Vi har 6 sovrum med 9 privata sovplatser som rymmer upp till 22 personer. Det finns ett komplett kök med bänkskivor i granit på övervåningen men varje enhet har tillgång till kylskåp, mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare, brödrost och mixer.
Huset har sju plattskärms-TV-apparater med DVD-spelare och Netflix i varje enhet, fem badrum (tre med bubbelbadkar), två eldstäder och två elektriska spisar.

A-enheten är ett 1 sovrum som sover 4; B-enheten är ett 2 sovrum med 10 sovplatser; och Penthouse (PH) är ett 3 sovrum med 8 sovplatser.

Enrumsläget ligger på första våningen och har en magnifik utsikt över stranden och havet från sovrummet, köket och matplatsen. En rap-runt drottning bäddsoffa omger spisen och stor TV. Matbordet ligger bredvid köksön. En queensize-säng ligger i sovrummet och en soffa med drottning i sovrummet ligger i den.

De två sovrummen är också på första våningen och har en strand- och havsutsikt från sovrummet som har en queen size-säng. Det andra sovrummet har en dubbel våningssäng och tvåbäddsrum med en tvilling i rullgardinen. Hulen har en stor TV, en bäddsoffa, ett matbord och ett delvis kök.

En spiraltrappa av ek leder över trappan till takvåningen som har panoramautsikt över stranden och havet från vardagsrummet, matsalen och köket. Det finns ett fullt utrustat gourmetkök, informella och formella matplatser, och ett stort vardagsrum med en stor skärm-TV, gasspis och flera sittgrupper. Mittemot köket finns en häll med en bäddsoffa i drottningen. Mellan köket och vardagsrummet öppnar franska dörrar till balkongen som har sittplatser mot havet och en inbyggd gasgrill.
Det stora sovrummet har en rymlig sittgrupp med en eldstad, TV och ett målat glasfönster. Futon-soffan plattar ut i en dubbelsäng. Ett sovrum har en queen size-säng, och det andra har två enkelsängar och en balkong. Ett takdäck erbjuder en spektakulär 360-graders utsikt över havet och bergen.

Our stay was for a retreat for 22 men. We ended up with 18. The house had a large living room that was ample space for the large group meetings. There were also other places that allowed us to have 4 breakout groups. The kitchen was well stocked for cookware, though we came prepared with electric skillets, stove top griddles and a coffee urn. We were disappointed that the barbecue did not work, but were able to improvise from our original barbecue dinner plan.Everyone enjoyed the beach house and the longtimers felt it was the best place we've been to since we've been doing this retreat since 2005.Sleeping 18 men was tenuous. 2 guys in a queen size mattress was a little crowded. We came prepared with air mattresses and sleeping bags. The manager had also left some cots for us to use, which was thoughtful and helpful.Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Easy to access, great launching pad for Southern California ocean exploration, good to have a lot of beds and sleeping arrangements for a large group, and two kitchens to store lots of food for our stay.

New Years

Our family- including 6 from UK stayed here for 5 nights over New Years. Games, talking and way too much eating! This place was perfect for a large family and has a great beach and a park with volleyball and basketball court. I highly recommend it!

Great Spot for All Ages

We met at the beach house from all across the country to celebrate a family wedding. The house was perfect for all, ages 10-85. Plenty of space reunite as a group, as well as finding a quiet space for those needing a time out.

The location and size of this house were absolutely wonderful. It really is right on the beach and steps away from a play structure that our kids loved. The house was well equipped, clean, and offered fantastic views.

Great Location - Right Size

We have used this property 10-15 times I believe. We use it for staff retreats and Leadership Team meetings. It's hard to find a place where we can all be together in one location. So this has worked well.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday with family and a few friends. Beautiful warm and comfortable environment to hang out and play games together. We’re so glad we found the place. It was perfect for us.

Wonderful for extended family stay

We held a family gathering (3 families - 14 people) with age ranges from 1 to 60 years old. The views and beach access were amazing and there were plenty of toys/balls for the kids (not really kids) to play with. We were surprised to find that the main gathering area was big enough and with plenty of seating for us all to hang out together without feeling cramped at all. The layout of the house was perfect for finding a quiet room for the sleeping baby while the talking and laughter were going on. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was very clean. We will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to gather as a large family or friend group.

Annual family weekend

We stayed at this beautiful home for our annual family weekend. 4 couples and 5 grandchildren. The home was beautiful and the location was perfect, just steps away from the beach. There was plenty of room for all families to be comfortable. We all loved hanging out together in the large living room with ocean views. Check in was very easy. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, utensils, pots & pans, etc... There is a Von's really close by for any forgotten items. Everyone agreed that this home was one of the best we have stayed in.

House and location worked out great for all of our CA travelers. The pull out beds were not comfortable and had to go buy an air mattress. We had 20+ guests and did not have enough bath towels and kitchen towels. If renting this house, I would definitely make sure you bring more of the everyday items.

Great house on the beach

Our group had a very nice time at this house. The views from the kitchen and living room are great. The kitchen was large and a nice space for us all to gather and cook together. We didn't get directions on how to get in prior to our check in (the host was very apologetic after the fact) and so our group was stuck outside for a bit, so I'd recommend making sure you have those instructions in advance. We could sleep 12 people all in separate beds for a work retreat reasonably comfortably (younger folks were in shared spaces, but made it work), and that's pretty darn hard to find in a house right on the beach. I'd totally return if I had reason to visit the area again.

Great Time At The Beach!

Very interesting house with a lot of character! Overall totally worked out and met our larger group’s needs. Kinda sucked that only one of three microwaves was working when we were there but I get it - it was their busy season. Three great fridges. Pretty much only the second floor kitchen is useable for cooking which means you’ll be using that main staircase all day long. Perfect beach access and beach. Awesome living room gathering area. They provided many helpful extras like patio chairs, beach chairs, and beach toys. Communication with host was not at all my style but it worked out in the end. Thanks for a great time!

Excellent Birthday Trip

Surprised my mom for her 60th birthday with a family gathering at the location. There were just the right amount of beds to fit 13 adults and 2 kids comfortably. Loved the Murphy beds and the furniture has been updated since the pictures that are posted in the listing. Modern kitchen and bathrooms, great view, plenty of room to hang out with the whole family, and it’s steps away from the sand. There’s a playground nearby, nice stretch of beach not far from the harbor, and a great view from the roof as well. There seemed to be enough bath towels even though they tell you to bring your own and there were board games that kept the kids busy. We did have to use our own paper towels and trash bags though because we ran out, so come prepared. I was disappointed that I payed for an extra guest that wasn’t able to make it and the host didn’t respond when I asked if I could get the $60 back. All the fine print in the contract was a little scary, but overall it was a great stay. The family is dying to go back.

Perfect Site for a Family Gathering

This was our 3rd annual Christmas Family Gathering at a VRBO. The Mandalay House was perfect for us! With my husband and I were our four adult children, their spouses and 6 grand children ages 7 to 10. What was important to us was a large family gathering room, large adjoining kitchen, at least 6 bedrooms and outdoor play space. We all thought that the configuration of the bedrooms and bathrooms was rather interesting, but the beds were very comfortable (including the two "MurphyBeds", there was plenty of hot water & water pressure and towels in the bathrooms, and the penthouse kitchen & "Grand Room" were simply amazing. Our only slight concern was the minimal kitchen dish soap, hand towels and drying towels - but since our advance materials noted that limited amounts were provided we had brought lots of our own as we were cooking all our our meals at the house. We all loved the panoramic views from the kitchen & adjoining Great Room (particularly the sunsets), being able to walk out the front door onto the beach and take the very short walk over to the huge, fantastic public park. All in all, great location!!! Also appreciated the advance information and rapid reply to questions asked from our host.

Great location; house needs some work

We stayed at this house for ten nights with a large, multi-generational family group, and had a great time. The pros were: great location-right across from the sand; kitchen/family room entertaining area with great views and plenty of room to accommodate us comfortably; the patio with fire pit which was great for evening. The cons: only two of the six bedrooms had adequate ventilation for our hot summer evenings; the house is a little “tired” – it needs some deep cleaning (i.e., the window ledge in the master bedroom) and sprucing up; the windows were so fogged with salt we could barely see the beautiful view of the ocean; and, although other reviewers stated it was easy to reach the caretaker, that was not our experience – he had a voice mail message in Spanish that said his voice mail had not been activated – it took multiple times to reach him about a garden hose that could not be turned off (this in the middle of a serious drought). The owner withheld $150 from our security deposit for a large wicker basket that may or may not have been damaged by us. As I could not say definitely that it was not damaged by one of us, I did not protest. I strongly suggest anyone renting there in the future do a careful inventory of the complete unit(s) and furniture to be sure you are not charged for someone else’s carelessness.

Fun for everyone!

This home was great for our extended family vacation. There was a place for everyone to feel comfortable and call their own, as well as great spaces to have fun being together. The beachfront location could not be beat!

Family reunion 2025

Right at the beach. Beach toys and chairs aplenty. Clean with plenty of hot water for 16 of us to shower. Beautiful views, TV and wi-fi were good. Great kitchen, living room and dining room for so many people. Lots of beds. Weather could have been sunnier but hard to pin that on the VRBO house.
