My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We felt right at home. It has a cozy cabin feel and appears just as presented in photos. There are plenty of entertainment options nearby. Donna is amazing and makes sure that you are well taken care of.

Best VRBO rental ever!

Our cottage was as lovely as it looked in the photos. It was comfortable, clean and beautifully appointed, with our comfort in mind. The refrigerator was well stocked (and even included the wine of my choice!), and there were fluffy, soft robes provided. Donna spared no detail to insure our comfort and enjoyment.

Short GetAway

Our stay was wonderful! The hospitality shown by the owner was exceptional and the effort she put in to make us feel welcomed is unmatched!! The home was adorable and very comfortable and clean! May Getaway

We loved everything about this property. Its perfect for 2 people and located just a short distance from the things we wanted to do. For us, that included Gibbs Gardens, Amicalola Falls, Dahlonega, Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and plenty of antique shops. You won't find a better host either! Donna had the refrigerator stocked with our favorite beverages and plenty of breakfast items to choose from. It was such a treat to stay here!

Gorgeous & Relaxing Getaway

We felt so welcomed when we stayed here! The fridge was well stocked. It was very tastefully decorated and we felt at peace in this home. The furnishings are nice and the bed was comfortable! It’s a nice quiet neighborhood too! The perfect little retreat! Would 100% recommend and stay here again!

Best Cabin in Dawsonville

From beginning to end, host was very hospitable, checked up on us frequently, and provided many food items and extra toiletries. Cabin was great, views were great, town and surrounding area was beautiful. 10/10 would stay again

Welcoming Cottage

The VRBO owner is welcoming and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Lots of stocked snacks, drinks, and a great variety of Keurig coffee flavors. The cottage is just the right size for two. Nice bathroom, kitchen and comfortable bed. The location at the lake is scenic and Gainesville and Dahlonega are not far away.

This property cannot be more highly recommended.

Our stay was impeccable. Donna went above and beyond in every facet of our stay. The accommodations were beautifully decorated and just perfect. Donna went above and beyond with every detail from snacks, coffee, creamer, drinks, desserts, etc. In addition, she also was extremely helpful with advice about the area. If this accommodation is available, reserve it! You won’t be disappointed!

Extremely clean rental, extremely well stocked, great host! This is such a lovely cabin. Everything was perfect! Ms Donna had fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and a sweet goodie bag for us. This is a beautiful area to explore. We had a fantastic time!

Simply Amazing

First, I have to mention our host, Donna, she’s amazing. You know the second you see the place that she enjoys what does, and trust me she is fantastic at it! From the minute we entered we were amazed. The cottage was magnificent. So well decorated. You can clearly tell cleaning is a priority, because it immaculate.if you’re ever in the area don’t hesitate to stay here. We will be using it for our weekend getaways. Excellent Getaway

This cabin is awesome! The owner has made this cabin a welcoming haven from the fall decorations, inspiring plaques on the wall, instrumental music playing as we entered down to goody bags for each of us—a handwritten board welcoming us as well as providing our favorite drinks. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Ms Donna did not disappoint again. Second time to stay here for our little Christmas get-a-way…and will not be our last! Beautiful Property, Great Hospitality!

This property was just as cute as the pictures. The cabin was spotless and well maintained, the fridge was filled with all of the necessities and then some - and Donna even grabbed a few of our favorite snacks and beverages, a very welcoming touch. It has always been a dream of mine to own a cabin that I could rent on VRBO because I love to host, decorate, and meet new people. So after retiring from a job I adored for 31 years (teaching school) I bought Rob’s Retreat. Rob had a very successful business, so when he decided he was going to move and sell his place I immediately told him that I wanted to buy it. That’s how Lakeside Retreat started in November 2022.

I chose this neighborhood because it’s so quiet and peaceful yet only 4 miles away from stores and shopping. The people are wonderful here and of course it’s on the lake.
