Minuter från Dragon's Tail (Deals Gap), High Rocks är ett utmärkt sätt att starta och avsluta alla bergsäventyr. Oavsett om du är på en Harley eller en annan motorcykel, eller föredrar vinden i håret i en roadster-cabriolet, kan vi rymma dig, och du kommer att uppskatta den enkla tillgången till Cherohala Skyway och Deal's Gap. Eller kanske är du här med en annan uppsättning hjul och kommer att cykla på Tsali mountainbike spår; eller inga hjul alls ute på det kristallklara vattnet i Fontana Lake. Ändå är denna perfekta bascamp bara några minuter bort till ditt nöje.

High Rocks är lättillgängligt med kombinerat välskött grus och asfalterad tillgång hela vägen till kabinen. Erfaren ryttare borde inte ha något problem men samhället har en liten parkeringsplats vid ingången där gästerna kan parkera sina resesläp och motorcyklar om de väljer att inte köra uppför backen, då är det bara en kort promenad / kör uppför backen. Vid kabinen finns en andra parkeringsplatta och till och med en täckt parkeringsplats för parkering.

Huvudvåning

High Rocks har ett stort stort rum med välvda tak och 2 skjutdörrar ut till huvuddäck och stora fönster för att njuta av utsikt över bergen. Däcket lindas runt sidan till baksidan av stugan, där du hittar ett privat område, den stora badtunnan och flaggstenen eldstaden (eldved och tändning finns). Det finns en Weber gasgrill för BBQ (propantank och reservdelar tillhandahålls). Det stora rummet har en vedeldad spis och HD-TV utrustad med Roku-funktioner. Den här enheten är inloggad för streaming på HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon Video och många andra populära kanaler, så det finns gott om programmering. Det finns också en Blu-ray-spelare. Den Bluetooth-utrustade ljudfältet och fjärrhögtalarna låter dig höra vardagsrums-TV med utmärkt surroundljud eller njuta av din egen musik genom att koppla ihop din Bluetooth-enhet. DSL Internet och Wi-Fi ingår utan kostnad!

Sovrum

På bottenvåningen finns ett bekvämt sovrum med kung med TV och Roku-enhet enligt beskrivningen ovan. Kungesängen kan delas upp i två enkelsängar med förhandsmeddelande om detta behov. Hallbadrummet servar detta sovrum precis utanför sovrumsdörren. Den andra våningen är ett stort öppet loft med en andra king size-säng och har en TV och BlueRay-spelare (den här spelaren gör det möjligt att logga in på Netflix och annan programmering också), plus ett komplett badrum.

High Rock Cabin Stay

Very quiet and peaceful. Lodging is perfect for two couples. The drive is extremely steep and not to attempt staying here is hauling trailer with motorcycles

Drive to renter

Steep single lane gravel road up to cabin. Actually a bit scary driving up to cabin. Extremely hard to turn around . Hot tub was great after much needed water was added.

Exactly what we were looking for

A cabin in the woods that's close enough to everything but far away from things to feel peace and quiet. Any activities we wanted to do (hiking, kayaking, rafting) were only about 30-45 mins away with big cities (like Gatlinburg) about 1.5 hours away and smaller cities (like Bryson City) about 30 mins away. We really enjoyed hanging out in Bryson City and how many places we could bring our dogs. The hot tub was perfect and we really enjoyed eating on the patio. Others complained about water pressure or the house being a little out of date, but our water pressure and temp were fine (upstairs shower was better!) and the amenities were perfectly fine. We brought a camp lamp to compensate for not having lights outside at night and between that and fires, it was perfect.

Cozy mountainside cabin

Cozy, nice cabin. Stayed 3 nights to ride motorcycles at tail of the dragon & enjoy fall rides. Driveway extremely steep, fine for cars but not motorcycles! They had a small parking area at entrance we left our trailer & motorcycles there so that worked great. Loved it had a hot tub & firepit to relax in evenings. Easy checkin & out & good communication via text for questions regarding parking. Downstairs king bed super comfortable, loft bed hard in our opinion so moved downstairs. Needs a new couch, right side had something wrong with it. Overall beautiful mountain retreat stay, we enjoyed as an anniversary getaway.

Driveway a bit steeper than stated

Absolutely loved our stay at High Rocks. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The set up was perfect for two couples and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. It is in a peaceful location but if you are looking for a view of the mountains this is not for you. It is however very secluded but still gets ample sunlight. The only downfall was the driveway. We missed the bottom parking for our trailer with our bikes and spent a harrowing hour figuring out what we were going to do. The next morning when the bikes were ridden down the steep road it was decided to leave them at the bottom of the hill. We were driving a king cab dually and had issues getting in and out of the driveway. All being said I'm sure we would return to this cabin to "get away from it all". Internet worked great but there is no service so you have to have access to wifi calling to make calls.

Un-Happy Holidays in the Mountains.

Select a different vacation cabin...The rental property was tired and needed a refresh in the kitchen, bathroom and couch. The bathroom floor tiles were all cracked, and the fiberglass tub/shower unit moved as you showered. The kitchen cabinets and countertops were old and well worn (worn out). The couch was very worn out and you had to put pillows down to sit on. The hot tub jets would not cut on and the tubs display did not work. I contacted the rental company about the issues and they sent someone to look at everything. They said the hot tub display was out, and they could not have it fixed right now. They stated they could not offer my family a different cabin, but would give a $150 rebate due to the hot tub issues...I've seen on past reviews that the hot tub wasn't working properly, but had hoped they had the issue resolved. Overall, it was a very disappointing family holiday trip.

Complicated

The cabin parking was very difficult to maneuver. We have a Pace 5 SUB and we had to go past the home to find a place to turn around, go back down and back into the drive. The kingsize bed almost filled the room it was in. The door had to be closed in order to get around the bed or to the closet. And while those beds that are 3’ high are not very easy for a 5’ tall woman to get in and out of The unit had no bath mats in the bathroom. Two towels, one hand towel and two washcloths plus one make-up face cloth. We have stayed in many VRBO properties and there has always been a notebook with instructions … not here. Guests should not be expected to check their email for your expected checkout process, that information should be in the unit. Making things easy for your guests should always be the goal of a service oriented company We understand we were there over a holiday, but in the tourist industry there should always be someone available to answer questions. A simple description of the location of battery operated monitors would have been helpful. Three hours of a chirping (apparent) carbon monoxide monitor was a bit much. An internal email system is fine for internal messaging but expecting guests to use for communication is not. While I understand this is a critical review it was our experience. The cost /value equation was sorely lacking.

The hill up to the cabin is very steep. But the cabin was cozy and clean. Beds were more comfortable than other places we have stayed.

Great mountain getaway

Great weekend get away! Had everything we needed. Driveway is a bit steep, however we had no issues. Having a Quiet area and being dog friendly made this a great weekend! Would rent again

Great Getaway!

The cabin was really great but didn't provide the mountain views like we hoped! The wifi was spotty at first, but got better the next day. There is NO cell reception so beware of that! The beds were very comfortable and everything was as described in the listing.

Secluded and quiet

Had a great stay. The cabin was up in the hills and was private and beautiful. Loved using the hot tub. Close to boat rental(Almond). Make sure to bring food and drink....going into town could cut into your vacation time. Would stay again in a heart beat!!

We stayed there

The property was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Definitely bring anything and everything you need. There were no games, movies, or basic mountain necessities. WiFi was spotty but we managed. Still a pleasant stay overall!

Quiet and peaceful

Quiet and peaceful We loved the house with its wraparound porch surrounded by trees, and with a fire pit and hot tub. Those who enjoy reading at night might be a little disappointed with the dim lighting. Older folks or little ones might have difficulty getting into the bed in the main floor bedroom. But for the most part, it was a lovely cabin, close to Joyce Kilmer Park and other hikes.

Nice cabin, but could have been better

The cabin was pretty nice. The hot tub was not clean, cloudy water, dirty ring just above water line and a soured smell. Called to report the problem. Someone came out to address it while we were away. They didn’t clean the hot tub, just added more water and chemicals. Unfortunately we were unable to use it and the hot tub was one of the primary reasons we selected the cabin.

Cozy and Comfy!

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway to this comfy cozy cabin. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Whenever I had a question the response was immediate from the owner. The bed was very comfortable, we loved the hot tub and there was plenty of wood for the fireplace. No complaints!
