We had a great stay at Debby and John’s house in Prospect Harbour. The house is even better than on the pictures, very well kept and in perfect condition when we arrived. Debby and John were also very helpful and super responsive throughout the stay. The area for us was also great, and less crowded than the rest of Acadia. We can only recommend a stay here and we would love to stay here again ourselves.

Serenity by the Sea

Everything we could hope for was here. Quiet, lovely, clean and very comfortable with every thoughtful detail, including a snack basket, that welcomed us. Already missing it!

Wonderful accommodations on quiet side of Acadia

Over the last 20 years we have rented numerous VRBO properties throughout the US and Canada. This home is our favorite. The recently built home is located in a beautiful cove on the ocean. The fire pit, wraparound deck and family room provide excellent views of the ocean. The furnishings and decor are first class in every room. All appliances are new and the kitchen is fully equipped including essential foodstuffs. Owners who live next door are very responsive. There are a number of good restaurants nearby as well as an adequate grocery store in Winter Harbor. We would definitely rent this property again.

Family vacation

This was the perfect place to stay on our family vacation to Maine! My 2 and 4 year old slept great in this quiet getaway. The pack and play provided was especially convenient for my youngest.

Amazing Place

Remote Tranquility

This place will spoil you!!

This rental could not be more perfect. The host (who lives next door) provides everything you could possibly need for your stay. The immaculate cottage appears to be brand new and is immediately in front of the water. The area is remote for a relaxing vacation and beautiful scenery.

Beautiful views of Maine!

Such a serine setting, very private with beautiful ocean views. We went with our son and daughter-in-law with no agenda and had the most fabulous vacation! The host was very easy to communicate with and many details were provided in the home. The only drawback is when arriving on a Monday evening nothing is open so I would suggest ordering groceries ahead of time if that service is available. Luckily for us their was a fabulous farmers market open on Tuesday! We definitely would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Prospect Harbor!

Family Vacation

Only one word to describe this experience. Magical! Location, layout, amenities, people in the area, owners (could spend the whole review on them) this place is a place of healing. Serenity by the Sea is indeed the way life should be! EVERYONE should have this experience. Book NOW, you will not regret in minute of your experience. Perfection in every way

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property for four nights, but it was so peaceful and serene, we would have gladly stayed four weeks. The hosts have designed and outfitted the house (which is newly built) to be as comfortable as a full time residence. The house is thoughtfully laid out and situated on the property to maximize enjoyment of the coastal setting. You’re just 40 yards from the ocean which means you can enjoy the sounds of the sea whether you’re outside by the fire pit or inside in the cozy living room. We spent two days on Mount Desert Island and two days exploring the Schoodic peninsula. Honestly the Schoodic is so nice, you’re not missing out on anything if you choose to stay near the house to hike or bike. Bring bug repellent and firewood so you can spend the evening outside staring up at the stars!

Coastal, gorgeous, modern stay!

I have stayed at many, many rental properties, and this is absolutely one of the best for so many reasons! On two of the five days we had here, we didn’t even leave the property (by choice!). The house itself is modern, looks impeccable, and is well styled and designed. We chose to stay here for our relaxing, coastal Maine getaway rather than Bar Harbor because while we did want to spend one day in Acadia NP (a very easy 1 hour drive), we were craving more of a quaint town, private setting experience and Bar Harbor was insanely touristy and busy. This place is the vibe we wanted. There are a couple awesome, hole in the wall restaurants with amazing lobster, lobster rolls, drinks, and blueberry desserts that more than satisfied our quest for a great foodie experience with a local feel. The house is also right off the Acadia NP Schoodic Loop Road, which ended up being our favorite part of the park instead of the more crowded MDI loop! Such a great day spent exploring this peninsula. The view from the backyard and listening to the waves and exploring the rocky coast at low tide were exactly what we were hoping for. If you’re looking for an authentic, relaxing, gorgeous Maine experience that you don’t want to share with thousands of other tourists, do yourself a favor and book this place immediately! 10/10.

Fall Break Trip

We loved the beautiful home and it had every amenity and every thing we could need. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. There was a fabulous gift basket waiting for us and cookies in the fridge to bake. The kitchen is so well stocked to cook in. It felt like home! We would love to definitely return.

Fantastic experience

From start to finish, our experience was unbelievable! Communication was exceptional and words cannot describe how beautiful the property is. We loved sitting around the fire pit next to the ocean, lounging and eating our meals on the deck. The house is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. Our family loved the area and look forward to revisiting. Definitely an A++ summer vacation.

Even better than the pictures!

We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties and have almost always had a great experience, but I have to say that this is the first time that the property dramatically exceeded our expectations. Although the property looks good in the photos, they do not do it justice- experiencing the rise and fall of the tides on a daily basis, and being able to sleep with the windows open and the sound of gentle waves lapping against the shore was just what we needed. The owners were helpful and responsive, and the property was clean and well-maintained.

Tranquil cottage

Beautiful views. Clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed this rural cottage. It was away from all the busy hubbub of Bar Harbor yet only a little over an hour’s drive to visit there. Had everything we needed to cook meals.

Perfect in every way

This house was way beyond what we could have even hoped for. It is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and the view is incomparable. We were there for only 4 nights and all of us were sad to leave and go on to the next part of our trip. The lawn and fire pit area were awesome. It literally could not have been better. There is nothing I would change!! It is quite a drive to the MDI part of Acadia but if you are aware of that and plan for it, it’s fine, we actually like the Schoodic part of Acadia better anyway. Long story short…. Don’t hesitate to book this house, you will not be disappointed!

We had a lovely week at this beautiful home with our family of 6!

The location is tucked away and we loved waking up to the beautiful views every morning. The owners were quick to respond with questions and were so thoughtful with the treats they left for us. We would love to come back again someday!

Amazing relaxation on the ocean

Perfect getaway trip to enjoy peak fall foliage. Stunning waterfront location. Well appointed home in secluded area yet easily accessible to services, dining, hiking and biking. Owner has thought of all the details and amenities. Very nice property.
