PÅ OCEANHUSET MED SPEKTAKULERA VÄGEN

Denna vackra hem vi kallar Stonehaven är lugn, avskild, vackra, soliga, rymliga och ligger på en ett tunnland trädbevuxen mycket - bara ett stenkast från strandlinjen. När du går in, kommer du att välkomnas av den spektakulära havsutsikt. På första våningen finns ett sovrum med en king size säng och en petite / privat rum med en enkelsäng.

Gå in i vardagsrummet och det finns en katedral tak med fönster från topp till botten och en futon som ett bekvämt sover. Gå uppför trapporna till den rymliga loft med två enkelsängar, ett med en utdragbar enkelsäng. Det finns gott om utrymme att sitta och titta på en film. Under högvatten, titta ut till havet och du kommer att känna som om du är på ett kryssningsfartyg .... utan inflytande av kursen.

Acadia National Park Schoodic Point erbjuder vandring / cykelleder, kajakpaddling, och storslagen natur; pittoreska byar, affärer, studio gallerier, restauranger, Yacht Club, golfbana, och arbets hummer hamnar, valskådning, kryssningar och hummer & mussla bakar; alla längs lugna stigar av halvön. Hem till den världsberömda Schoodic Arts Festival, internationell skulptur Symposium, och Hammond Hall Performing Arts Center. Det finns även en färja till Bar Harbor (när du är där vänligen säga Bah Hahbah annars folk kommer tro att du är från södra) om du känner att du måste lämna frid Schoodic.

We had an amazing stay at Stonehaven! The house was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and ocean view was breath taking! Tom was an amazing host and was incredibly responsive. He is someone who goes above and beyond to ensure you have a good stay! We will definitely stay here again if we come to the Schoodic Peninsula! Just loved it!

We had such a great time and enjoyed our stay. We were only able to stay for a couple nights and will have to stay longer next time. This was our first ever trip to the northeast and absolutely fell in love with the views.

Ideal Location

The house is very well appointed, with dramatic ocean views and very good privacy. The house is spacious, the bed in the master was very comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful--clearly a properly maintained property. The host was very communicative and helpful and provided great suggestions to take full advantage of the area.

Amazing get-away

We wanted a place to relax, as well as see Acadia national park. Stonehaven was perfect! It is a wonderful house in a great location that our entire family enjoyed. And the owner, and his neighbor who helps out, were fantastic! Would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely stay in Maine on the coat

Our group was a family of three generations ranging from 20-80. The house was very clean and was perfect for our stay. We checked out Acadia, nearby fishing villages, and the Schoodic Peninsula. It felt remote yet close to what we wanted to see at the same time and the views are beautiful.

Wonderful Place

Albeit our stay was too short, the view and closeness to the ocean alone were worth it. I highly suggest opening the hopper windows so you can hear the waves crashing from inside the place. We arrived on a Friday and left on a Sunday. Although it rained on Saturday, the experience made the place even cozier. It gave us full license to just relax and be. Naturally you can get provisions, we did buy some fruit, wine, cheese and crackers as well as ingredients to make a big breakfast at Winter Harbor Provisions. But there are nearby places to eat. We ordered pizza one night from The Wrinkled Pickle, which also had live music and a trivia night. We did make a fire in the fire pit on Friday night. Easy to do as Tom provided firewood. In fact, the owner's guidebook is quite helpful so be sure to check it out. It has directions for most everything you'll need and some recommendations to boot. I'd highly recommend everyone driving the Schoodic Loop as its so close by. I am already missing the place as I type.Some very minor suggestions - possibly update the games available. Most of them are outdated. Love to see Sorry, Battleship, and Chess, etc. And upgrade the single-ply toilet paper.

We are in love! My whole family loved the place, the beach, the fire pit, the stars, the morning view spotting some whales, the snow on the neighborhood Definitely the best place we have stayed!!! Beautiful!

We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful home and visited Acadia National Park, including The Raven’s Nest which was a recommendation by the owner, Tom. Just stunningly gorgeous! The house is lovely, has everything you could possibly need or want and the views are amazing. Tom is a very accommodating host and the neighbor, Bill, is a very nice man that is available if you have any concerns at all. We just loved it, only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Will definitely be back.

Spectacular Ocean Home

We experienced a little slice of heaven in this amazing ocean-side home. Tom was a great host and provided us with tons of information about the home and all about the area. We were excited when we had a rainy day one of the days so we could relax and enjoy reading, doing a puzzle and watching the waves roll in. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful stay at Stonehaven!

Although it offered more space than needed, I was attracted to the photos in Stonehaven's listing by its proximity to the sea and, my favorite, tide pools! Stonehaven delivered on that and provided so much more! On entering I was immediately struck by the beautiful view, cleanliness of the property and overall warmth and welcoming vibe. The location feels wonderfully remote but there are neighbors adjacent to the property which is bordered and sheltered by Maine's tall evergreens. Stonehaven can offer blissful solitude but is also well suited for groups and families and fully equipped for any Down East vacation activity. Tom is the consummate, thoughtful host! Even before arrival he sends a detailed guide to the property as well as suggestions for activities, sights, restaurants and shopping (don't miss the Winter Harbor 5 & 10, like walking back into the '50s!) I took many of his suggestions and thoroughly enjoyed them. I highly recommend Stonehaven for any stay on the beautiful Maine coast. I'm looking forward to returning, next time with my daughter (who lives on the "other" coast in Santa Monica) to explore tide pools together!

Wonderful home!

We had such a great time at Stonehaven! It was so perfect for our family of 4. Our girls (9 &16) loved having the loft to themselves! We have rented many homes and this one really stands out for us. It checked all the boxes: clean, well-equipped, beautiful view, incredibly helpful welcome guide. But it also just felt like it was a home that has been cared for and holds a lot of good memories. Nothing too fancy, just everything you need. We spent mornings and evenings on the deck, exploring the rocks, using the fire pit or puzzling inside late at night. It was such a wonderful way to connect with our kids and made us all so happy. On our last night we even saw dolphins! We also really loved the location of the house and that it was removed from the craziness of Bar Harbor, but also totally accessible if you wanted to do a day trip there. Schoodic, which is only 10 minutes away, was SO stunning. We did the Little Moose Island hike - highly recommend. And I would also drive out and park to go for a run around the point. Our favorite place to relax and easily get in the ocean was Grindstone Point. We ate lunch at JM Gerrish, shopped at the 5 & 10 and absolutely would recommend you get to the Bakery!! We also visited the very charming Darthia Farm multiple times for produce, jam and chicken. Thank you so much to Tom for a wonderful stay. We all loved the house (even my teenager!) and created many of our own memories on this trip.
