Shady Arbor är ditt Mountain House at the Beach!
Detta unika strandhem ligger gömt bort på ett vackert trädbevuxet parti och utsedda vildmarksreservat som bara är en kort promenad till stranden, så gör dig redo för massor av strandglädje och avkoppling i bergens reträtt! Det är som att få två semester till priset av en!

Tillbringa dina dagar på stranden och kom sedan tillbaka till den otroliga lugnet i din egen privata trädbevuxna reträtt; Njut av picknick på den omhöljande verandan, koppla av i det upplysta lusthuset, sitta vid lägerelden och steka marshmellows eller varva ner i hängmattan i den svala och skuggiga trädgården.

På övervåningen finns ett komplett badrum, 2 sovrum, sovloft och nöjesområde, medan nedervåningen har en vacker master-svit, stor jacuzzi, solrum och tvåbäddsrum. Perfekt för både 1 eller 2 familjer. På de riktigt varma dagarna kan du njuta av centrala luften i två zoner, för de svala kvällarna finns det 3 gaseldar.

Du är en kort 1 kvarts promenad till den 50 tunnland stora naturreservatet Cox Hall med omfattande vandringsleder och ett stort fiskedamm - och ett och ett halvt kvarter till vikstranden för lugna dagar i sanden och otroliga solnedgångar.

Den hundvänliga vikstranden är perfekt för små barn och för vuxna som vill varva ner. För dem som längtar efter de stora vågorna är det en 10 minuters bilresa till Kap maj. Sex Cape May beach-taggar ingår, tillsammans med cyklar, kajaker och en paddelbräda.

I Kap maj kan du också njuta av att äta middag på de många fina restaurangerna eller kaféerna och bläddra i de pittoreska butikerna för gåvor och souvenirer. Det finns till och med hästdragna vagnar som går förbi de utsmyckade viktorianska hemmen som upprätthålls i all den härlighet som gått.

Besök Wildwoods, strax norr om Kap maj om du vill sparka upp ett hack. Promenera på strandpromenaden, bläddra i butikerna och arkaderna, besöka nöjesparker, vattenpark, se spektakulära nattliga fyrverkerier och äta i de många fina matställen på hela ön.

Shady Arbor är också perfekt för bröllop, familjesammanträden eller bara för en lugn och avkopplande semester. (Tyvärr - inga HS-proms eller Seniorveckor).

Fall Retreat

The house was amazing. So many places to sit back and relax and hang out with the family. We enjoyed a walk in the preserve and walks along the beach. We can’t wait to come back.

Much needed family time

The house was the perfect setting for a family vacation. It was spacious and gave opportunity to either gather (which we did the whole time!) Or there are plenty of areas inside and out that you can find your private space. The beach chairs and umbrellas were basically new and in great shape (not rusty) and there were plenty of beach toys for our grand daughter to play with.

An Amazing Getaway for a Group!

I recently stayed at Shady Arbor with a group of friends (and two dogs), and we had a spectacular time! The place itself is amazing, and ideal for a group of adults and/or families. There is so much space to spread out and relax between meals and trips to the beach. Walkable to a small, private bay beach AND a quick drive to Cape May, it's ideal for a fun time at the shore. Patti and Jim are excellent hosts, as well; check-in and check-out were simple, and were incredibly communicative throughout our stay. I can't say enough nice things about Shady Arbor! Would 100% stay again.

Cape May Weekend

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful house! Our kids loved playing in the backyard oasis. You can tell the owners are very mindful of families traveling with small children as the house was packed with play costumes on toys. We had a great time!

A great late summer getaway

Spent 5 days with my family and our dog. The house was great and shady (a plus). There was enough space for everyone to spread out (when needed). The wrap around porch , with gates was perfect for my dog to walk around and we didn't have to worry about her getting loose. The Gazebo in the back was a nice escape at night to enjoy the outside and not deal with any mosquito's. The house provided enough activities to keep everyone busy including bikes, to ride through the preserve, kayaks and paddle boards to take to the bay, a short walk from the home. Overall we were very pleased with the house and would highly recommend.

Beautiful property for a family vacation

This property was just what we needed for a 3 generation vacation. The house is so roomy and had everything we needed for a stay that included 5 kids from 1-9 years , 4 adults and 2 seniors. The walk to the beach was easy for everyone. The location was very convenient for all of the local spots we traveled to. The owners really thought of everything a family would need to have a comfortable stay. It made packing much easier knowing that so many things were already at the house, especially all of the beach gear.

Charming home for a vacation near Cape May!

We found this to be a unique home close to beach and Cape May attractions (and less than half hour to Ocean City). Our party of 5 adults and 2 children had plenty of room both inside and out. It was well supplied with anything we needed … from soap to kitchen ware to books and games. Personally, as a handicapped individual, I did find the steps challenging but I was able to manage.

Plenty of room for all

Such a unique property/home. The biggest surprise for me was the outdoor shower! Perfect after a day at the beach. Some of us walked the bay beach morning and night. Mosquitoes were around, but oh, well. It's summer. All ammenities were as described. We experienced a malfunction with the Pack 'n Play. After a phone call to Jim, we had a replacement that day. Should we visit Cape May in the future, we will definitely reserve another stay.

Great Stay Near Cape May

We had a wonder stay at this property. It was spacious, well furnished and stocked, and comfortable. The owners were very responsive to our questions. We loved the short walk to the bay beach to play in the sand, run with our dog, and watch the sunset. The bay beach isn't good for swimming though with all the horseshoe crabs, but the Cape May beach is a short drive away. The owners provided beach tags and everything we needed to enjoy the beach! Highly recommend this property.

Summer Vacation 2022

We absolutely loved this property! We had 3 generations of family that came together for our family reunion/vacation and this house was amazing! There was ample room for everyone in our party (4 adults, 4 kids and our dog)! Location was ideal and was an easy walk to the beach! Having come to the Jersey Shore for years with my family in the past, this was a nice change of pace being on the bay side of the beach! Beach was beautiful and the location was ideally located. Not too far from Cape May and Wildwood! I would highly recommend this house, and would absolutely stay again!! Thank you Jim and Patti for opening your house up to us...we hope to rent from you again next summer!!

The house was lovely, perfect for our week.

We had such a lovey time at the house. There was plenty of room for everyone and the items provided were greatly appreciated. We spent alot of time biking on the trails at the preserve. The kids had so much fun kayaking and paddle boarding. The beach was so nice. And my granddaughters loved sleeping in the "tree house"! We enjoyed the fire pit and had s'mores several nights. One comment, I thought the website read towels provided, but when we got there there were no towels. Had to scramble so everyone had bath towels. Thanks again!

"Some Yes, Some No"

This is a quirky property in a quiet neighborhood. The bedrooms were not what we expected. The small bedroom on the main floor can only be accessed from inside the primary bedroom which would be great for a couple with small children but wasn't good for our all adult group. Also, the loft is better suited for children. The property was very appealing to some of our group because of the bicycles/toys and the fire pit. The nearby beach was better than we expected.

Family beach vacation

We absolutely loved staying at this property, the house and the grounds, beautifully maintained and shady; nice to sit in the gazebo or near the fire pit outside. The only downside are the mosquitos at dusk... bring bug spray of sure. There were 6 of us but he house could easily fit more. The location was great, a 5 minute walk to the bay beach where you can relax, swim, kayak and watch peaceful sunsets. If you drive down to the Lost Fisherman's memorial near the Nature center on Delaware Ave, you can also watch the sunrise. The house is a short drive to the ocean beach in Cape May town where parking was relatively easy with the parking app and the house owner included beach tags for us to use so the town beach access was free for 6 of us; a nice bonus. The house also has everything stocked for a comfortable stay (AC, washer/dryer, grill, fire pit, bikes, kayaks, beach chairs/umbrellas). The bike ride along the shore was beautiful and peaceful in the mornings. This was our first time on Cape May but it's probably not our last. Thanks to Jim and Patti. Jim was easily reached when we had questions and helped out with minor things. Overall, 5 stars for sure!

Comfortable and Highly recommended

it can be very tough finding a home to accommodate a family of 12 but this home was spacious and comfortable. The family really enjoyed themselves for their vacation week, they loved the house and thought that the homeowners went above and beyond to make sure the house was stocked with not only necessities but extras as well. Plenty of games and electronics for all age groups. It had plenty of room so they were not on top of each other. The exterior was a plus with the hammock, gazebo, wrap around decks and of course the fish ponds. An outside shower is an excellent idea as we actually joked that the only thing it was missing was an outside shower! Will definitely use this property again. Thank You again for helping to make a memorable vacation for our family! Jenn Hathorne

Good but not what we needed

This house is truly a 3 bedroom. There is a bedroom inside the master suite, not a separate bedroom. The knives were dull, which made cooking difficult. There were a lot of ants but not enough ant traps. The lock on the front door was not easy to use. The house number on the mailbox was impossible to see when we got there. We drove by it before we realized which house it was. The decor is cute. The house was otherwise nice. We enjoyed the firepit.

Large Home Near the Bay

The home was clean and contained a lot of room for a large group. It is located 3 blocks from the Delaware Bay. The neighborhood was excellent for bike riding. Beach tags were provided for those who wanted travel to the ocean side of town. Washer/dryer was very handy. There were two major issues. The woods surrounding the property were severely overgrown, making it difficult to navigate the vehicles down the driveway and walk along the paths to the front door. One vehicle was scratched by the overgrowth. Second, the grill is in need of repair. Could not get the temperature above 275 degrees. Seemed to have enough gas (two tanks), but the burners in the grill need replacing.

We fell in love with this house at first sight, and hope you will too! It's perfect for people who love the mountains and the beach! We've been coming to Cape May for many years with our 4 kids and can recommend many fun and unique places to go.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Mountains meet the beach in this one of a kind rental. 1 1/2 blocks to the bay beach and the Cox Hall nature preserve. 10 minute drive to Cape May beaches, restaurants and shops. Short drive to Cape May Zoo, many local wineries and the Cape May Brewery. There are also several good local restaurants, Wawa, drugstores, and Acme within a 5 minute drive from house.

From Philly and New York - best bet is to get to 55 South and then follow 55 South to 47 - 347 -47. After the Acorn Campground sign, make a right off of 47 onto Bayshore. Bayshore has a sharp left at the blinking lights, and then you will see the water tower "Best Sunsets in the World". Keep following Bayshore through the little town of Villas. Pass the WaWa and CVS. At the ACE Hardware store, make a right onto Village. Go to the end of Village and make a left on Bay Drive. In about a mile, make a left on Delview. We are second house on the left. If you are going down on a Saturday in the summer, PLAN ON LEAVING EARLY (pack the night before). We highly highly recommend getting on Route 55 by 8:00 or 8:30 AM to beat some of the traffic and then having breakfast at Uncle Bill's Pancake house once you get to Cape May/Villas area.
