-En Vegetarian / vegan hem i många år (vänligen inte sätta kött in i huset för antingen matlagning eller lagring. Ät vad du vill när du är ute och om!). Ägg, mjölk och biprodukter är bra, även om du kan tycka om att prova kokosnötkräm, nöt- eller getmjölk och ostar som de är ansedda att vara generellt bättre för smältbarhet..

- Att bo i Berkeley är förmodligen trevligare att vistas i San Francisco när man besöker SF Bay Area. I East Bay, är temperaturen varmare med cirka tio grader F än närliggande San Francisco. "Den kallaste vintern tillbringade jag någonsin var sommar i San Francisco." Mark Twain. Inversionsskiktet orsakar dimma som kan vara kyliga, (speciellt på sommaren). Berkeley är varmare, men många sommarmorgon har en dimma som normalt brinner av vid middagstid.

-Slut till fantastiska Fourth Street-butiker och restauranger, Bette's Diner, Peet's och Apple Store i Berkeleys Oceanview-stadsdel. En av de äldre kvarteren Berkeley, full av charmiga hem och lång tid invånare.

-Enkel Åtkomst till (UC Berkeley och SF centrum), lätt freeway tillgång och en 99% walk-förmåga rating bussar. En 10-15 minuters promenad (.9 mil) till North Berkeley BART (och SF morgon carpool)

-En Frontmatad tvättmaskin på plats. Det finns några fällbara rack för att hänga tvätten på tork samt en mycket liten torrare som passar mindre än hälften av en full last från brickan. Större apparater ska användas mellan 19:00 och middag, att arbeta med solcellspaneler och verktyg prissättningssystem.

-Street Parkering, inga tillstånd krävs i det här området. Det finns gaturenhållning - två dagar i månaden, den första måndagen och tisdag varje månad.

We loved Lisa’s house, it was charming, perfectly located and very pleasant. She was warm and helpful, too. It is a great place to call home while in Berkeley.

Charming house, extra charming host.

Very clean home, plenty of room for my family of five. Good location to the city, and to principle attractions in the area. Lisa was very helpful, and a warm and friendly host. We definitely enjoyed our time in Berkeley.

Great location in the heart of Berkeley

Walking distance to shops on Fourth Street. San Pablo Ave, University Ave . . . coffee, restaurants, shops, REI, etc. The house was warm and cozy with a great kitchen to cook in and Lisa was the best property owner ever. She did so much to make us welcome and comfortable!! And it was quiet at night. No traffic noise!!

Friendly owner and well equipped spacious 'character' property

Lisa was extremely friendly and helpful/talkative and we had a few glasses of wine togther. Lots of local information and property was spacious with character and quirky. Location convenient (hills behind have good views/walking) and neighbourhood interesting (saw local walking her pet pig one morning!) - takes about 15 minutes to cross the bridge to San Franciso city about 30 minutes total. Property a little older than some but interesting, well maintained and clean and as advertised. Wi-fi OK (better then many places visited though a little room dependent). Good value for money and well recommended. Did most of local SFO sights. Definitely recommended!

Serene oasis

Lisa's home was a serene oasis for convening after a busy day visiting with local family, or working on a nearby project. The decor was charming -- everywhere we turned there was a creative touch to savor. We enjoyed reading in the living room, gathering around the kitchen table, and sleeping in incredibly comfortable beds. Our dog enjoyed the serenity as well. Though Lisa was kind enough to bring in a dog bed for her, she was happiest just dreaming quietly on the rug in front of the fireplace. Lisa was delightfully welcoming and informative, giving good recommendations for local food shopping (the Monterey Market) and restaurants. Nearby 4th Street was a lively area of stores and eateries. Walks around the neighborhood were interesting, and walks around the Berkeley Marina area -- a few minutes' drive away -- were quite scenic and beautiful. This was a wonderful place to stay.

magical beautiful home full of love

I absolutely loved staying in this home that has every single amenity plus more. I stayed with my college-aged twin daughters and young son and we were all perfectly comfortable. Lisa knew it was my birthday weekend and I was met with flowers and gifts on the dining table. The location is perfect, we loved walking around the neighborhood and going to coffee and shopping just a few blocks away. Getting to SF is a breeze. So much better than staying in a sterile hotel. We can't wait to stay again.

Exploring Berkeley and SF

Our host Lisa was very welcoming, even offering to give us rides to the BART station upon our arrival and departure! Home was charming older bungalow with colorful decor and artwork, just as photos depict. Host was also helpful in offering restaurant recommendations in the neighborhood. Don’t miss the Oceanview Diner and bakery/deli next door! Neighborhood was quiet at night except for a bit of a party nearby on Saturday. But, we rested well. Master bedroom bed was very comfy. Overall, a great stay and good location for visiting Berkeley and San Francisco. FYI, It’s about 1:15 to 1:30 by BART and muni bus to get to Golden Gate Park. Cheers!

North Berkeley un quartiere rilassante

Una casa accogliente vi aspetta a North Berkeley, il posto giusto per rilassarsi dopo una giornata passata a visitare le belleze della baia di San Francisco. Ci vogliono circa 30 minuti con il BART per raggiungere il centro di San Francisco e la città di Berkeley ha un ottimo servizio di bus integrato con Oackland e Richmond. La padrona di casa, Lisa, è molto ospitale ed è ricca di consigli perché conosce a fondo il suo quartiere e la baia.

True Berkeley Experience

Lisa is a kind and accommodating host! We arrived to fresh picked flowers and fruit. Her charming house has a definite Berkeley vibe, from the Buddha by the front door to the Dr Bronners in the bathroom, and I love it. We used to live in Berkeley and brought our kids back for the first visit in 5 years, and staying at Lisa’s felt like we were living in Berkeley again. Our kids are 7 and 9 and the place was perfect for the 4 of us. We enjoyed walking to Peet’s on 4th street for a morning pastry and coffee, and playing in the neighborhood park just 1.5 blocks away. Having parking and laundry on site was great. I’d definitely recommend Lisa’s place, if you don’t mind keeping a vegetarian kitchen while you’re there—we ate out all the time (too many great restaurants in the Bay Area to cook!) so it wasn’t a problem at all for us omnivores.

Eclectic Berkeley home -- lovely!

The house is a warm mix of color and texture. Great old bungalow style mixed with unique furniture pieces and fabrics. We really enjoyed the location -- 4th and U was right around the corner, and getting up to the university dorms to get our son situated was easy. Lisa, the homeowner, made sure we were comfortable. She really knows the neighborhood and shared great suggestions about the area, restaurants, places to go.

Super welcoming and caring host! Excellent home!

This spot was perfect for our little getaway to San Francisco. The home is quite spacious and geared towards what it would feel like if you were staying at a friend's house. She has all the fixings you would expect to find in a home and then some like children's books and toys, a beautiful piano (which we had great fun with) and plenty of cool art and decorations. We really felt like we were staying with family because Lisa was just a fantastic host. If you're looking for a corporate vibe or expecting to stay in a hotel then this is not for you. But if you're looking for an ideally situated spot to visit Oakland/Berkeley/SF with the comforts of a big house then this is the place for you. We stayed with an infant and a toddler and they loved the books and toys and loved the double bed for story time. Thank you Lisa, we hope to see you again! -Gloria, Xochitl, Tesi and Booji

Perfect for our family

We stayed here with our three children and Lisa made us feel right at home. The space was great for us with the sleeping arrangements (bed in master was incredibly comfortable)!, coffee setup, fresh fruit provided by Lisa, and a parking spot set aside for our convenience. The home is old and “lived in”; if you’re looking for new and modern this isn’t it. Some usable outdoor area would be a bonus (even to sit with coffee or to eat) but there is an amazing playground for kids just a block away. Finally, if you prefer to check into a place and be on your own, this may not be a good fit as Lisa (who’s lovely) likes to chat. All in all, a great and reasonably priced find where I’d stay again.

Excellent Location, wonderful Host

Lisa's home was in a perfect location for us. I was in Berkeley with work and the home was walking distance to the office. There are shops/restaurants/parks all within a few minutes walk and felt like a very safe neighbourhood. Lisa was amazing and kind, she took a lot of care in getting us settled into the home for our 1 week stay. There are definitely some quirks and this was not the typical rental that we have previously stayed at, but it was a good fit for our family. The living room was a decent size, the tv was smaller but didn't bother our kids at all - there were lots of books, some toys and plenty of instruments to keep them busy during the time we were home. The kitchen was a good size and had all of the amenities that we needed, a few quirks but nothing that bothered us. You can access the second bedroom from either the living room or the kitchen, the main bedroom from the kitchen. The kitchen also leads to the laundry room. The main bedroom was a good size and the bathroom is attached, which is also accessible from the laundry room. Bathroom also has some quirks, which Lisa walked us through upon arrival. Overall, we would definitely stay here again, although I expect this home is not for everyone.

Excellent Stay in Berkeley

We drove to Berkeley to help our son move. Lisa was very helpful with parking our truck. Her house was a great place to put our feet up and relax after very busy days. We greatly appreciated Lisa's truly local community connection and flair. We will definitely book again in the future

Great for a family get together

We had a nice stay - it’s a really cute home! My family and my sister’s family comfortably fit and we were just blocks away from our brother’s house. Lisa, the owner, is very kind and thoughtful. You can tell she cares about her guests and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

Sanctuary

After a hellish week in an Airbnb house that was not at all as described in the listing, we found sanctuary in Lisa’s Berkeley home. My wife, our twenty-one year old daughter, and our small dog were evacuated from our home in the Santa Cruz Mountains during the CZU lighting complex wildfires. Adding to the stress was a pre-scheduled surgery for our daughter, which she underwent during the previous Airbnb week. We needed a place to lick our wounds and, temporarily, call home. Lisa’s Berkeley house was just that. Lisa’s home was well-furnished, comfortable, and stocked with more amenities than we could possibly use. She kept in contact with us, checking to see what we needed, offering helpful advice about keeping the temperature regulated, parking in the neighborhood, dining suggestions, etc. She seemed to genuinely care about us and our well-being, and for that we are very grateful. She even surprised us with thoughtful gifts such as remedies to support our daughter’s healing, and fresh flowers and fresh herbs for cooking. Knowing we were exhausted and stressed, she kept us in mind when doing her own shopping, checking in about whether she could pick us up anything while she was out. So much thoughtful consideration and loving care was above and beyond what we’d ever expected and was so deeply welcomed and appreciated. We highly recommend Lisa and her Berkeley home, and we hope to be back for another visit in a less stressful time!

A long time Berkeley resident who worked in the travel industry for years, and had the good fortune of International Travel. This has been my home for over 30 years. I raised my daughter in this home.

I live on the same property, in an adjacent wing, attached by a five foot common wall. There is a great deal of privacy, both auditory and visual, between the two wings, and we may never see, or even be aware of one another. However, if you seek local insights or information, please ask. As a former tour guide, I know the ropes.

My hobby is restoring vintage Mercedes Benz diesels. Thus the driveways are not available, due to my hobby, but I have a way to arrange (nearly) sure-fire street parking just in front.

This is a cozy, comfortable, clean, well-appointed home.

This is a simple comfortable home, and a great basis for your stay in the SF Bay area. You may quickly access San Francisco by public transit (a bus is two blocks away, BART is .9 miles), and travel to UC Berkeley easily by bike or bus.

The house has a solar array for electricity, which reduces the electromagnetic radiation, which by many is considered harmful to health.

There is radiant heat, considered by heating speacialists to be the "Rolls-Royce of heating systems." This may be supplemented by movable electric radiant heaters, which work quickly and can be used as an alternative to heat individual spaces, taking advantage of the rooftop solar array’s energy and using less natural gas.

There is a playable piano, and room to dance around!

The area is easy access to grocery stores, although they are about half a mile away in any direction, there are smaller ones within blocks.

This home is a part of a Finnish settlement from the 1920's, and within a block, there are two lovely churches, by the architect, Charles Geddes, who built the chapel in Yosemite. There are several historical buildings around the vibrant neighborhood.

The owner lives on the property in an adjacent "in-law" and while she is personable and full of local information, and tourist tips (former member of the SF Tour Guide Guild and adventure travel maven), the house is situated in such a way there is no sound between the two wings of the house and a great deal of privacy. Unless you ask for information and wish to interact, you may never even see or hear her. You have the best of both worlds.
