Tranquil, restful, lovely.

Perfect get away

Peaceful and great bird watching

Gerry's place is very well maintained and provides great amenities to keep your stay stress free. We enjoyed bird watching while we did yoga on the porch. The outdoor shower is wonderful in the evenings after a long day in the sun at the beach. The beach is a straight shot from the tucked away cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for. We look forward to returning.

Wonderful Experience

The guest house and the location were both absolutely amazing. The guest house was spotless and fully equipped with anything you could possibly need. The view from the large inside windows and outside deck was incredible. We really enjoyed watching and listening to all the birds. Gerry was a great host, and the level of communication was perfect. We would love to stay again another time.

Anniversary Getaway

This Guest House was a fabulous place for our 7th Anniversary getaway! Off the "beaten path" but so close to the ocean you can hear the waves & view the marsh wildlife. Exceptionally clean with very comfortable King bed, full kitchen & beautifully decorated! We rode the provided bikes, hung out on the beach, enjoyed an outing into Southport & ate ourselves silly! Gerry has gone above and beyond to offer such a lovely place. We will be back!

Perfect weekend!

We were here off season for a workshop and it was absolutely perfect. Perfect for a couple. Everything is updated and beautiful. The deck overlooks the marsh so it was wonderful to sit, have a glass of wine and watch the birds in the evening. Property manager was great- easy to work with and we had one tiny issue and he was over to address it right away. We would 100% stay here again and we highly recommend!

This is the nicest VRBO that we ever stayed at. Location was excellent with great views of the marsh

Location was fantastic, with very short walk to the beach⛱. House looked brand new both inside and out. Inside was exceptionally clean high end fixtures and amenities. Attention to details included chilled đŸ„‚ in the fridge with cookies and candy on the counter🍬. Property bicyclesđŸšČ we're very nice we recommend taking a bike ride to the Oak island light house! For night life take a short ride to Southport for shopping, dinning and historical sites.

Excellent setting between the nature marsh and the big beach. The host was attentive and able to give some relevant recommendations for dining in the area. Secluded location, but convenient to everything.

Oak Island Vacation

Everything was great the only problem we had is that the a/c wasn’t as cold as we like it. It wouldn’t get colder than 75 degrees during the day. Other than that is was a very nice home.

Oak Island 2025

Gerry welcomed us upon arrival, and offered up suggestions of what to do during our stay. The property itself is quite lovely. We especially loved sitting on the deck and looking out on the marsh. We observed several species of birds, and also the occasional egret. Also, the washer/ dryer combo was a a great bonus. Overall, we had a wonderful relaxing experience.

Great private oasis

We loved staying at Wish Upon a Starfish. Very clean, cute bungalow perfect for the two of us. Jerry could not have been more hospitable and helpful. Easy walk to the beach. Great outdoor shower. Highly recommend staying here!

A Beautiful Beach Retreat

The view of the sound from inside the house is breath-taking. The house is only a short walk to the beach. It is beautifully decorated and clean. We hope to come back!

A lovely spot

This was our second trip to this wonderful location. What a peaceful and lovely place! We loved the view from the deck with birds galore. Gerry had great tips for restaurants and where to buy seafood. We had a fun day trip to Bald Head Island, too. We highly recommend a visit!

Perfect Couples Getaway

We loved our stay and look forward to returning soon. The pictures are very represenitive of this special place. Very private and easy walking distance to the beach. Very well equiped and a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Your pulse is sure to slow a beat or two. Communication with Gerry was easy and we met him upon arriving. Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation. This is a great house and has a perfect view of the wildlife area and the marshes. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and it is such a short walk to the beach so the location is Percy for a couple.

This will be my ninth year as owner of a wonderful guest house on Oak Island, North Carolina. Growing up near the ocean with the sounds of the sea birds, the roar of the waves crashing on the beaches, and the clear night sky filled with so many stars, I consider myself fortunate to be able to enjoy them all again.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

If you long for the ocean that was once a part of your life as it has been for me, I invite you to Oak Island, a world away from the noise and rush of the "city-life" and to take this opportunity to re-acquaint yourself with the "sounds of the sea".
