Our stay at Pine Place was most ideal. The apartment was clean, cheery, peaceful, plenty big for our needs and very nicely appointed with an Adirondacks theme. The location is very convenient to Main Street and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Peggy, our host, is kind, she is easy to talk with, she is very gracious and welcoming and she is happy to provide wonderful recommendations on what to see and on what to do. My family and I look forward to a return stay as we are back in the area. Thanks so much, Peggy, for making our Lake Placid vacation so positively memorable.

Wonderful Place to Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cozy, comfortable home. Very clean, very well taken care of, and enjoyable decor. Instructions and communication with landlord very easy and clear. We appreciated having the variety of amenities to be easily able to prepare our own food. A great space for our family of 4. Very convenient location, just a short walk over the hill through a lovely neighborhood to get to town. Highly recommend this place!

Fun times in Lake Placid

Travelled to Lake Placid for an extended family weekend and had a wonderful time. The apartment location was perfect allowing us to walk to the main drag for shopping/dining and drive to locations further away avoiding the typical high traffic areas in/around town

Location, location, location

We stayed at Peggy’s place while we were in town for a family wedding. This place is a great location if you are looking to be close to town. Only minutes from all the lake placid legacy sites, downtown shops and eateries. We made it work with a family of 6, but it was a little tight with just one bathroom, but would be perfect for a family of 4. House was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great Place

Peggy’s place is lovely. It’s neat and tidy and is ideal for a Lake Placid / Saranac get away. Beds were clean and comfy, and the super tall shower has great pressure. The added bonus of washer and dryer was so convienent. We’re already talking about staying here next year.

Fall foliage incredible

My husband and I completed our New England fall foliage tour with 4 nights at Pine Place in Lake Placid. It was AMAZING! The house felt Like a quaint cabin and was walkable to the many shops and restaurants on Mirror Lake as well as the Olympic Center, and drivable to incredible hikes. The owner visited us on arrival and provided excellent suggestions for where to eat and hike which were spot on. We hope to return and stay here again!! Highly recommend.

Home away from home

This is our 3rd trip to Lake t Placid. . Peggy’s place is ideally located for all the things we like to do. We are 20 minutes from Whiteface as well as 20 minutes from the Nordic centers. Main Street is less then 5 minutes by car & is a gem. The apartment feels like home. Already booked for next year!!!!

Cross Country Skiing home base

This property worked great for our several day stay for cross country skiing. In a quiet neighborhood, downtown is within walking distance but it is also easy to get out without town traffic. Many pluses and only one negative. The apartment comes very well equipped. Nothing has been overlooked in the kitchen, bedrooms, storage, comfort, etc. Nicely decorated and plenty of room for four. A unique plus for us was the gas fireplace. The owner lives nearby and it was great to have a face-to-face relationship (very personable, conscientious, eager to assist or advise). The only pause was the pricing policy, which, admittedly, is a personal preference. We appreciate an advertised price that covers the cost. At the price this property was advertised it also said it could sleep six. But at checkout we were charged significantly extra because we were four people, not two. There was also a non-refund policy (standard or time-unique?) that caused us to hesitate. But, all said the positives way out weigh any personal preferences and we had a wonderful time. We would recommend this place and next year may well see us returning.

Perfect For Our Adirondack Adventure

I've stayed at dozens of VRBO places and Peggy's place is up there with the best of the best. Very clean when we got there, and conveniently located a few minutes walk from downtown Lake Placid but still very quiet and peaceful. Lots of parking and conveniently close to a semi-arterial road but, as I said, very quiet. Best of all, though, was how well equipped the apartment was, it had absolutely everything we needed for the four days we were there. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and more, all the dishes, utensils, etc. that I can imagine ever needing. There was lots of extra bed linen and towels, soap, shampoo, etc. plus some very thoughtful touches, e.g. a USB charging plug on the bedside table in the master bedroom. I don't think I've every stayed in a place that was as well equipped. We really liked the decor in the apartment, pictures, skis, etc. representative on the many activities available in that area. Chairs, beds, etc. were very comfortable. And Peggy was great, too, friendly and accessible and responsive and helpful. And knowing that we'd be bringing bicycles that we didn't want to leave outside, she set things up such that we could store them inside, such a helpful and thoughtful touch. And speaking of bicycles, that big jacuzzi bath tub was just what the doctor ordered after some challenging rides! All in all, a superior rental experience, I absolutely recommend it. Hope to be back sooner rather than later!

I moved to Lake Placid in 1995 because of the abundance of outdoor activities in all seasons. I was pleased to discover an abundant arts community as well. I bought my small house in 1998 and built the Pine Place addition in 2002. I am a dual citizen with Canada and speak French. I love to travel internationally, especially on adventure travel trips.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Pine Place is right in town so you can walk to almost everything! It's in a nice neighborhood. When I bought the house, Pine Place was not there. I built the addition that has Pine Place in 2002, acting as my own general contractor! I am very proud of what we created and know you will love staying there.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

I maintain Pine Place myself and am pleased that it has many extras not found in other rentals. Pine Place has paper towels, dish and laundry soap, salt/pepper/spices and is beautifully furnished with antiques, original art and taxidermy. It's more like a home than a rental.
