Beautiful views and sea-side/waterfront location, especially from main sitting room and primary bedroom, kitchen was modern and spacious, loved laundry on-site - very helpful!The home had everything we needed and we had a wonderful stay!

Cozy and Beautiful Views

Our group of 6 so enjoyed our stay at Tigh Bata! Upon arriving, we didn’t fully realize how close to the water it was going to be and it looked a little weathered as most homes on the water are. But when we got inside, it was cozy with a spacious kitchen and living room with large windows on each side for a panoramic view of the sea and mountains! Truly breathtaking! We even got to see the sunset one evening as the clouds cleared away! We enjoyed the fireplace as well— so perfect after wet and chilly weather! We won’t forget this trip!

Fantastic location, a little wear and tear

The property itself is in a removed location on the sea that is unparalleled. The views are simply incredible. We had the luck to be there during a storm and it was truly something to be in the house with a roaring fire, looking out onto the water through three walls of windows. The main living space downstairs is thoughtfully put together and so clean and comfortable to spend time in. Especially watching the ocean tides. The upstairs holds the bedrooms. The master bedroom is absolutely beautiful. The other three bedrooms, while neat and clean, felt rather small. One of the bedrooms had two windows that did not open at all so there was no fresh air, and the room with two twin beds for the kids was tight. The bedroom decor and mattress was fine though did not feel quite up to the level of luxe that the price and the photos implied. Finally, in what may be a very nitpicky point for some, the windows/skylignts in the bedrooms did not have full shade cover which meant that they were quite bright until 10/10:30 when the sun went down and again by 5:30 when the sun came up. That may not matter to many people but as light sensitive as I am, it did impact me and I slept on the couch a few nights in the living room where there are full curtains. Overall it was a gorgeous stay with some details to be aware of if you’re headed there with a group of varying sleeping needs.

Peaceful Location

We loved the quietness and waterfront location. Had dinner twice at the Stein Inn - cozy delicious comfort food, fantastic staff and once a Loch Bay - which was also amazing both just a ten minute drive away. A cozy fire once back to the house took the chill out of the air.

Great location but have a sturdy car!

We had a very enjoyable stay here, the location and scenery is beautiful. Unfortunately the roads are terrible (not the property’s fault!) and so getting in and out can be a challenge. Otherwise everything is lovely and worth a visit! It was nice to feel separate from the more touristy places but still in easy distance of them.

Beautiful location!

Wonderful setting, beautiful views. Not near grocery so come well stocked. Lovely coffee yurt a couple miles down the road. The house was as-advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only hiccup was that we never received check-in instructions or an access code despite leaving emails and a voicemail 2 days in advance…so we drove 4 hours to a locked house on a weekend. Thankfully someone picked up when we called from the house and gave us the access code. I’m sure this was not a typical situation but just make sure you receive check-im instructions before make the drive. The property rental company never responded to our email about it.

Family Holiday

Beautiful house in a fairly remote location. Just on the edge of the water. Short drive to the stein inn which is the oldest pub on Skye. Loch Bay the only Michelin started restaurant on the island is next to the stein inn.Property as described in the listing.Lovely location, lovely house. Prompt response to an issue that we had by the property Manager Cat.

Great place with a million $$$ view.

Absolutely loved the place, the views were amazing. The drive to the place is little off road, but the management team gave me perfect directions. The check in was a breeze. House was neat and clean and very spacious and comfortable. We had a great experience.

Marvelous!

Our stay was with 5 friends. We loved the house! It was very comfortable. Beds were great. Well decorated. Kitchen was complete. View was Majestic! Loved Isle of Skye and would definitely come back again.

Wonderful accommodations with stunning views

The location and views were absolutely amazing. It was so nice to come back to the property after a day of exploring the island, and take in the incredible sunsets and views of the stars. The house was spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. Although we couldn’t get the oven to work upon arriving late the first night, the host was super quick to respond to try to assist us. Nothing but good things to say. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Tolles Haus in wunderschöner Lage

Tolles Haus im Norden von Skye. Das Haus liegt wunderbar am Meer. Super Lage zum Erkunden der Insel Skye. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und es fehlte an nichts. Vor allem die Küche und der Wohnbereich mit dem grossen Esstisch sind der Hammer. Wir würden sofort wieder buchen.

Fantastic House

Das Haus ist wunderschön im Norden von Skye gelegen. Tolle Lage direkt am Meer. Super Lage um Skye zu erkunden. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und es fehlte an nichts. Vor allem die grosse Küche und der helle Wohnbereich mit dem grosse Esstisch waren der Hammer. Wir würden sofort wieder buchen.

Spectacular - Just as advertised!

Tigh Bata was an amazing gem. It was spacious on the inside with awesome views outside. The home was well equipped with toiletries and everything.needed for meals for our large family. Access was easy and appreciated given the remote location. And the staff was friendly and attentive. 5 Stars in every respect!

Amazing house with a spectacular view! This is a real treasure of a rental. The house is large, comfortable, clean, and well stocked. We immensely enjoyed our stay. Our only regret is that we should have stayed here more than two nights!!

Stunning Location

Skye itself is an amazing place to visit and Tigh Bata has a wonderful spot north of Waternish. The house is a great design and has lovely views all the way from East to West through South, especially from the open plan living area and the main bedroom. The furniture is good, it has a big, well-equipped kitchen and with 6 adults we appreciated the 3 bathrooms. The property is getting a little worn around the edges - I suspect it was renovated at least 8-10 years ago - so there's the odd place where lights or flooring or doors will need a bit of attention before long. It could do with some suitable blinds or similar for the large triangular windows in the peaks of the bedrooms, unless you're good at sleeping with lots of light (both late in the evening and early in the morning this far north!) But I wholeheartedly recommend it as a beautiful place to stay.

Skye Wedding!

We chose this VRBO to stay for a few days while attending a wedding in Skye. Wish it was a few weeks! Great remote oceanside location with the highland coo's next door. Yurteancoffee close by and a quick trip to Dunvegan for restaurants.

Relaxing, beautiful getaway in a remote spot
