Njut av fiske, promenader, ridning och golf i Piddle Valley, bara 8 miles från Lulworth Cove .. Bottenvåning:

Grunder (delade). Privat parkering för 2 bilar. Ingen rökning. Observera: Det finns en bäck och damm i trädgården, 15 meter bort. . Ett mycket attraktivt, moderniserat och ombyggt busshus i en lantlig miljö i Piddle Valley, 8 miles från UNESCOs världsarv Jurassic Coastline inklusive Lulworth Cove och Durdle Door, med utmärkta gång- och ridvägar. Det finns många attraktioner och bekvämligheter i närheten inklusive Dorset Golf and Country Club, Tank museum, Monkey World och Brown Trout fishing på floden Piddle (£ 35- £ 50 dagligen efter överenskommelse med ägaren). Weymouths prisbelönta gyllene sandstrand ligger bara en kort bilresa bort, tillsammans med Dorsets historiska marknad och länsstaden Dorchester, odlingsområdet och den experimentella staden Poundbury och Puddletown, som var hem till Puddletown Martyrs. Varför inte utforska Poole Harbour, världens största naturliga hamn och härifrån kan du ta färjan till Kanalöarna Guernsey och Jersey, det finns så mycket utforska från denna vackra del av Dorset. Byn 1½ mil med affärer, postkontor och pubar.

Mill Pond Cottage suited us very well.

Mill Pond Cottage suited us very well. It's in a quiet setting half an hour or so from the coast but only a mile from Bere Regis. There wasn't really any good walking from the Cottage itself, but plenty within a short drive. A visit to RSPB Arne was a real highlight. The cottage was comfortable and we loved the large upstairs lounge in particular, with its lovely views over the pond and its birdlife. There is no WiFi and the mobile signal wasn't great which might be an issue for some. The owner was easy-going and friendly.

Gorgeous cottage

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. The hosts were lovely as were Carolyn and her partner who looked after us very well. The host has a lovely border collie who was delightful too. Would definitely recommend!

Very out of the way place to find,sign by lane covered up by grass etc.

Very out of the way place to find,sign by lane covered up by grass etc. Route to find it useless and more so coming from west,not everyone has Sat. Nav. or maps on their phone. Had to stop 5 times in Bere Regis asking for directions. Having rubbished directions it was fabulous cottage everything you needed plus more,very friendly owners who made us feel so welcome, even walking around their grounds and trying to spot wildlife that live in them. The Cottage is in a beautiful idyllic location, it is a great base to explore the local area and a lovely place to return to after a day exploring. There are a couple of things that would make the cottage even better. The dishwasher was quite old and wasn't working properly. NO WIFI - can you believe it in this day and age? Even if it was poor WIFI it would have been better than nothing. There was no BBQ facility in the garden area and the whole outside seating area was very tired and neglected. It wouldn't cost much to make this space wonderful. Cleanliness - the bedding was all lovely and clean and the cottage was neat and tidy but the whole place felt like it needed a good deep clean as it felt a bit dusty, cobwebby and with some food left in cupboards etc. All in all a wonderful place and a lovely couple living at the Mill House. We would like to return one day for a second visit. With a few £££'s spent on the place to install WIFI, spruce up the garden/patio, do a really deep clean and put in a new dishwasher it would be 5*. The place was very clean.

The place was very clean. There are a few things that needed attention, like squeaky doors and doors that needed a bit planed off the bottom, but overall it was lovely and the outside spaces were fabulous. The only thing I would strongly recommend is that they install Wi-Fi as the lack of this makes it unlikely I’d book it again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An oasis

We had a wonderful stay. A perfect base for our weekend of mountain biking. Such a pleasure sitting on the garden bench outside the cottage , listening to the birdsong... and the magic of watching kingfishers diving into the pond for their breakfast. Joyous!
