It was very kind and generous. Most importantly, I'm glad that you were able to spend quality time with your family and that you, as you say, were able to escape the Texas heat. We get a lot guests from Texas, and the cool Carmel ocean air has a way of resetting our internal thermostats. The days have been pleasantly mild recently and the evenings cool - great for sleeping. And your words "a little corner of paradise" are truly making my head swell a bit right now :) But, to be honest, I think of Carmel and these cottages the same way. This whole area truly is a little slice of heaven. Your video of the hummingbird sipping nectar from the bougainvillea on the back deck and taking drinks from the fountain was truly magical. I've seen many hummingbird visitors over the years, but have never been fast enough to capture a video in time. And thank you for your kind notes and messages.
