Offering a blend of 1900s character, modern conveniences and an unbeatable location just a 15-minute stroll from Hobart's bustling city centre lies Glebe Cottage. Promising a comfortable stay it features electric heating and blankets, a sunny private courtyard and rooftop deck with stunning views across Mount Wellington. From your doorstep, the Royal Botanical Gardens and the vibrant North Hobart restaurant strip are easily accessible, offering a slice of Hobart's best right at your fingertips.
A fresh white exterior welcomes you inside, where the ground floor presents a comfortable lounge area exuding period charm. Cosy up on the sofa and armchair fronting the central TV, with eclectic heating and blankets keeping you nice and warm. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook and enjoy a meal, including an oven, stove, fridge and four-seater table. Glass doors extend to a private courtyard, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or unwinding after a day of exploring Hobart.

Upstairs, the cottage accommodates two tastefully appointed bedrooms, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The first bedroom features a queen bed, complete with electric heating and electric blankets for those cooler Tasmanian nights. The second bedroom, fitted with a single bed and a trundle, opens onto a deck offering serene views of Mount Wellington—perfect for a quiet moment or morning reflection. Unique to this cottage is the bathroom access via the deck, which houses a shower, toilet and in-unit laundry. A second bathroom can be found downstairs on the ground floor, offering a combination shower and bath.

Dedicated parking is not provided. Street parking is restricted Monday-Friday from 8 am-6 pm. Please plan accordingly.
Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.

Bedrooms are located on the upper level, accessible via steep stairs, which is not ideal for guests with mobility issues.

Great for exploring Hobart

Nice old style cottage, with a bit of precarious staircase up to the bedrooms. Comfortable beds and sufficient space for four people. Walking distance to everything.

Tiny house

Loved the house but a few areas need an update … the couch is really uncomfortable, step upstairs to balcony needs repairing ,rug in dining area needs cleaning / replacing ,electric frying pan didn’t work ,and the plastic plant on porch is not a good look !! I love old buildings and was very happy to stay in one .

Well presented, close to TCA and Botanical Gardens, no cover to get to upstairs bathroom when wet, but everything needed for a short stay

This property is full of character and suits people who don’t need a lot of space, as it is compact. Wi-Fi was excellent, the shower terrific and the and beds were comfortable. Note there is no dishwasher, which wasn’t an issue for us, and the 4th bed is actually a trundle bed. This is not listed. The second bathroom upstairs is separated from the house, via an external balcony.

Glebe Street comfort

A well appointed and charming cottage within a short walk of Hobart waterfront. Our hosts were welcoming and any message was answered quickly. It’s also at the bottom of a steep hill so no climbing required either way!

Cute cosy cottage in convenient location.

The cottage is compact and comfortable and suited our (a couple) needs perfectly. Everything we required was supplied. The kitchen has all of the cooking equipment you'd ever need and, with Woolworths across the road, it was nice to self-cater rather than always eating out. The main bed is comfy and a selection of pillows was appreciated. Electric blankets came into their own as we struck a cold snap in Hobart. Having two bathrooms was useful, the showers nice and hot and the washer/drier a bonus. It is an easy walk downtown and to the waterfront or up to North Hobart restaurants and cinema. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day.
