Owl - Cabin at Sunset Bay

WE ARE PET FRIENDLY AND WE DO CHARGE A SMALL PET FEE. PLEASE ADD YOUR PET TO YOUR RESERVATION. First bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a single over double bunk bed.

Bathroom has toilet, sink, tub and shower.

Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, etc., and has a fridge, stovetop and oven.

There is also a BBQ and propane, picnic table, chairs, fire pit, hot dog sticks and firewood.

No smoking inside the cabin.

Friendly, quiet dogs are welcome!
However if your dog has any issues with cats, we kindly ask that you do not bring them along.

Guests will be provided with bed linens and bath towels but please bring your own beach towels.

We have 7km of walking trails on site.

Kayaks, paddle board and canoe available for rent.

Pontoon tours of the lake or to the deeper water for swimming, available for an additional fee. Pontoon comes with an operator, guests are not permitted to take out alone.

Our lake is shallow for a long way out, so it’s not the best for swimming. And our lake doesn’t have any fish, but there are many lakes within a 20 minute drive that are good fishing. Just ask and we’ll point you in the right direction!

Guided fishing by boat is also available. If you’re interested please inquire prior to arrival.

Nice Place

I stayed here over Christmas and it was nice. I saw previous reviews about spotty wifi, so I was prepared for that but the wifi worked just fine for me. They also have a Roku TV as well, but I didn't watch much, just an episode of Corner Gas and Kim's Convenience on the freebie part of the app.

A getaway close to hikes

Perfect little place near Riding Mountain. Super clean. Sauna was amazing. Not as secluded as I hoped for an anniversary getaway but perfect for a place to crash after hiking all day!

Cabin

The cabin was perfect! It had everything we needed and we were able to have access to anything we needed! It was in a nice quiet area and it really made us feel like we were on a vacation.

Vacation

I love this place, its quiet, people are friendly, lots to do and close to the park. The lake is close if you want to canoe, paddle board or kayak. The hosts are great and accommodating.

Easy to book and just a short drive to Wasagaming/Clear Lake. Great communication from property owners. Safe and cozy spot. Would book again!

Great place

The place was great for our family. We were happy that we could bring our Labrador along. The green space and fire pit area was spacious. The property owners were very helpful. Location was convenient. We'd stay here again.

It’s okay

The house is pretty much okay but we didn’t enjoy coz my kids were sick and ended up checking out early as planned. If there’s an option for just a one night stay that would be nice and practical.the property manager is nice and welcoming though.

Winter Getaway

The hosts were amazing went above and beyond for us. We arrived during a snow storm. They snowblowed a walking path for us and gave us tons of privacy. We were able to relax no problem. There was a tv and Wifi if we needed it.The property was serene and beautiful. My only regret was not using the sauna. Next time :-)

Vacation

This property overlooks the lake (if your staying in an Rv) which offers a beautiful view and gorgeous sunsets The grounds are manicured with easily walking trails (gorgeous in the fall which we stayed then) Lots of birds and beautiful views We loved that we could take our dogs and this was why we chose here So glad we did. Had a very relaxing wonderful stay. Will definitely go back. Will just remember to book on Canadian site not US so not charged US funds for a Canadian booking again

A pleasant surprised

After a four-day stay, we were very happy with the overall experience. The owners are friendly and always available when we needed to ask something. The cabin was very clean and well-maintained. I would definitely go back and recommend this place. If you love nature, you will love it.

3.5 stars. First of all the cabin met all of our needs. Perfect size for a family of 4. It was situated in a beautiful area. We had our own large green space with fire pit with firewood included. Close to all amenities. It was quiet and peaceful. Perfect for star gazing and sunrises and sunsets. The cabin had a door lock and deadbolt but the owners did not provide us with a key, which made us a little uncomfortable when leaving our stuff in the cabin when we were not there. When asked about a key the owner stated not to worry everyone keeps to themselves. One of the reasons we booked this cabin was for the excursions/activities they offer but due to an unexpected illness of one of our hosts they could not provide some of these and had no back up plan in place. The small details were lacking such as the bathroom fan and the shower curtain liner were filthy, the sponge and dish washing brush were old and needed to be replaced. Cheap and easy fixes. I feel we left the cabin in cleaner shape than when we arrived. Some quick and minor maintenace is needed. All in all it worked for our accommodations.

Lovely little cabin

Quiet location, minutes from the park. Amazing sunsets. The cabin was clean and equipped with the basics for our 5 day stay. Andrea was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again, or try one of the RV rentals too.

Conveniant and Clean

My friend and I booked for its proximity to the hiking in the Park. It was perfect for this purpose! The sauna was also wonderful after long hiking days! We were definitely happy we did not have children with us though since the bugs were atrocious! Were outdoorsy people and dont mind bugs...outside! Our 2nd night we went out and came right back in just once and we were killing bugs for 20 minutes. They were everywhere! Even with the wind. So we didnt have a fire either. But the place served our purpose and the owners were great!

Had a great time

Booked the Owl cabin for a short spring break getaway. Everything was as advertised. Cabin was comfortable and cozy. Very close to the park and we were able to get out and enjoy the (unseasonably) cool weather! Thanks for having us, we would stay again.
