Lovely location! The house is smaller than we thought it would be based on the photos, but we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the lake and walking around the surrounding area. Lots of cool birds in the area and AMAZING stars at night sitting around the fire pit.

Overall good experience, nice that we could launch our boat next to the dock, dock was a little shaky but kids were able to catch fish from it.Game room was good, dart board electronics didn’t work but we used our brains instead and still used itHouse was good, the laundry room/ bathroom had loose towel bars and toilet seat and door wouldn’t latch.Laundry worked well.Sleeping options were good.

Great Cabin for a Family Lake Weekend

We stayed for 4 nights with our family (6 adults, 4 kids, and 1 dog). This cabin was perfect for what we needed. Each couple got a room along with the bunk room for the kids (which was a huge hit). The included amenities were extensive: kayaks, paddle board, fully stocked kitchen, games, grill, fire pit, and more. It was also a beautiful lake - quiet and a great sunset view each night. We spent time during the day exploring the surrounding area including Kathio and Father Hennepin state parks. It was a fun time!

The property was big enough for our entire family to stay. The place mostly had what we needed. I would recommend bringing tinfoil, ziploc bags, and things like that because they do not supply these. Otherwise they had everything else available. The dock worked great for docking two boats. There are no neighbors by you which is fantastic. The game room was really nice to have for the night to keep the house quiet for kids but have a place where adults could be loud. Plenty to do here!

Platte Lake Home

The location was perfect for our stay. The main house was great with four bedrooms, with one on the mail floor and three full bathrooms. We loved the large kitchen and the wonderful kitchen island. Having two living rooms was also a plus. Plenty of room outside for our kids to run around and for parking needs. Low traffic road was also a plus. Nice to have the water toys also available for use as well as plenty of firewood. The game room was great, as it rained two days we were there and we could still spread out a bit for games, projects for the kids, etc. The dock could be a bit more stable, but it was great to have. We enjoyed our stay.

60th Anniversary with our grown kids

It includes everything you would want for a family getaway! Including fishing off the dock. We had a pontoon docked there so had a number of rides around the lake.

Family vacation with 3 adult kids and their families. Was a great place. Nice large kitchen for everyone to gather and eat. Plenty of room for everyone to relax. Loved the firepit. Grandkids had fun fishing off the deck. Great place for a group.

Family Getaway...

There were 9 of us - 5 adults and 4 children. House was just the right size - kids (3 age 7 and one age 10) all wanted top bunks, but everything worked out. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. Two kayaks and a Stand-Up Paddleboard got lots of use. The game room above the garage would perfect for a rainy day - we had perfect weather and didn't need it. We took a day trip to Kathio State Park, climbed the fire tower and fed the mosquitos - worth the drive and bugs bites. The kids (with Grampa's help) caught lots of bluegills and sunfish off the dock. All enjoyed the stay.

Highly recommend for families!

This place was perfect for our family gathering! Our group included 2 families (including 7 kids ranging in age from 0-14) and a grandmother. Everyone had a blast! The older kids (even the teens!) loved fishing off the dock (it's such great fishing) and the kayak and paddleboard were wonderful to have! The home is pretty well stocked with dishes, clean, nice and spacious (the master is awesome with a great view - the 3 queen bedrooms are small but sufficient). There is fire wood available for the fire pit that sits overlooking the dock and the water! The bonus/game room above the garage would be perfect for a rainy day. Cute bait shop just down the road. Highly recommend!

Great place for a weekend away

House was great and spacious. Could’ve been a little cleaner, but not awful. Would recommend supplying a little more cleaning supplies just under the kitchen sink to allow other guests to clean up while staying… Clorox wipes, a vacuum that works, extra hand towels ….all would’ve been great. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. The garage and games were an awesome bonus and the paddle boards and kayaks were a hit! But you do have to walk about a 100 yards through the water/weeds if you want to be out in the lake!

Christmas Time Together

The property itself was awesome! We loved the space! We enjoyed both the house and the game room and also enjoyed the outdoor space! The process to check in was easy but asked a few questions that never got answered. It was a snow storm and the driveway was cleared before we got there and checked a couple times while we were there! Okay onto our cons: if you offer hide a beds and blow up beds. I feel that sheets, blankets and pillows should be offered. And that the blow up bed should hold air (even for a 2 year old). It had a hole in it and was sticky! Bathrooms all had a partial roll of toilet paper. We reserved for 8 adults and 6 babies. We would have brought toilet paper if we had known. Instead we had to go buy some. Also there weren't any hand towels for the bathrooms! If we had known we would have brought some. Made a Christmas meal that entailed mashed potatoes. The hand mixer didn't work. All in all. We loved our time. Just needed a few things that we are used to at all other places that we have stayed.

There is a lot to like about this property, however we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. left a list for cleaning crew or host. also the bunks are not stable enough for teens to adults. otherwise, we enjoyed the property.

Fun Family Getaway!

The Edgewater Escape was such a great place for our extended family to all get away for a few days. We all came from different parts of the US and everything was so smooth and effortless - from checking in/getting into the house/exploring and having essentials there. The fall scenery was beautiful. The house was so clean and welcoming with plenty of comfortable places to sleep for our group of 13. Everyone enjoyed the game room above the garage! Even with some rain we enjoyed the paddle board and kayaks. Communicating with the host was so easy and he replied quickly and was always so kind and helpful. Highly recommend staying at the Edgewood Eacape!!

Edgewater Escape was Perfect!

Enjoyed a 4 night stay with 7 adults and 4 children at Edgewater Escape! Wonderful location, lots of fun things to do, and a gorgeous view on the lake. Enjoyed kayaking, games, and bonfires! Would highly recommend!

A great vacation home for a big group!

We had a group of 13 people, 5 kids and 8 adults... it was nice to have a space that was big enough for all of us! We really enjoyed having the game space above the garage, especially after the kids went to bed so we didn't have to stay super quiet. We were surprised by the lack of sandy space on the shoreline as shown in the photos. The water was high and so were the weeds so our kids didn't get an opportunity to swim in that area. But the availability of kayaks and the paddleboard along with fishing equipment was a nice perk to have! The host was very communicative and helpful! Overall, we recommend this place if you're looking for a nice escape with beautiful views.

Fantastic place!

Great location, very well stocked house, lots of room for our large family. We were able to put our pontoon, boat and jet skis into the lake right there by the dock and did not have to find a public access boat launch. Gorgeous sunsets around the firepit.

Awesome stay

Edgewater Escape is a wonderful large lakeside home that has everything our family needed for our vacation. We were able to put our boat, pontoon and jet skis in the lake right at the beach in front of the house. The house was extremely well stocked with lots of extra garbage bags, toilet paper, all the kitchen gear that we needed. Washer and drier worked great. Our whole family (ages 11-82) enjoyed our stay!

Memorial Weekend 2022

Our family of 11 adults, 2 children and some pups had a wonderful time at Edgewater Escape. The Owner was very helpful when we (the older generation) had trouble navigating the Direct TV, he took all the time needed and held our hands to get things up and running. There are enough TV's that everyone in our party could manage their own programs. There was plenty of room for all of us at all times. The kitchen is perfect for a large size group with ample serving space with the huge center island. The game room was super fun with its own space including a deck overlooking the lake. The fire pit was put to good use and it was fun to see all of the night time fires from across the lake. The wild life was fantastic, eagles, loons, beaver, fox, muskrat and more. We had great fishing, mostly northern pike. Thank you Edgewater Escape, we will be back again.
