Fastigheten ligger inom 10 minuters gångavstånd genom den angränsande Comeau-fastigheten, ett naturskydd med vandringsleder till staden. Stugahuset vetter mot bäcken, vattenfallet, dammet och den stora gräsmattan på ena sidan och skogen och åkern på den andra. Huset är ett nybyggt renoverat 800 sovrum med två sovrum, ett badrum, 5 sovplatser. Vi erbjuder sängkläder, handdukar och andra nödvändigheter.

Frederick Dana Marsh, far till den välkända socialrealistmålaren Reginald Marsh, gifte sig med Mabel Van Alstyne 1930 och startade ett anmärkningsvärt konstnärligt partnerskap som Van Alstyne Marsh Collection som senare förvärvades av Smithsonian Institution. Deras hem var unikt för Woodstock - 'Det var i bakgrunden till Mona Lisa; ett Van Gogh-landskap; en tågresa genom Toscana - bollformade ener; ett damm som fäste huset; expansiva gräsmattor; en samling av björkar. Men mest av allt stora konformade cederträd. Det är en underbar sak att titta upp på bakgrundsbelysta moln vid solnedgången - se intrång av cederträdtoppar, pekande upp som mjuka misslar och den oberäkneliga flygningen av myggfångsterfladder som gör nittio graders sväng ner kanalerna mellan träden. En fotografvän var här förra helgen och jag sa till henne, "Oroa dig inte för att rama in bilden, bara peka och skjuta. Landskapsarkitekten inramade den för dig för sjuttio år sedan. ”” Här citerar jag Austin Metze, som känner till detta land länge innan det gjorde en förtrollning på oss.

Att vara där är att bo i en idyllisk målning. Sitt i fastighetens egna Hidden Stol Waterfall eller kyla vid den avskilda sandstranden bada hålet en minuts promenad bort genom förtrollade skogar, ta en vandring upp Milk Mountain eller upp stigarna i den angränsande naturen bevara för en söndagsbrunch i stan och besöka loppmarknaden. Eller bara läsa en bra bok under en cypress.

Stugahuset ligger på samma fastighet som Pond House, som är listat på VRBO vrbo # 373377. Båda husen är mycket privata. Det finns tre hus bredvid varandra, stugan, det gamla bondhuset som hyrs permanent till vår kära Lainey och Austin och dammhuset. Stugahuset vetter mot bäcken och den stora gräsmattan på ena sidan och skogen och åkern på den andra.

Beatiful

The pictures do not do it justice. This property is stunning. The owners are wonderfull and it has everything you could need. The location is perfectly situated for peace and quite yet still walking distance to town.

Lovely Marshmeadow

Fit our needs with an 80 lb dog.. Kitchen perfect with all anyone could need. Not enough storage space for luggage and folded clothing. Grounds spectacular. Enjoyed the tranquility, enjoyed proximity to town.

Serene cottage

This cottage was more than what we hoped for! It was beautiful and comfortable. The outside area was stunning! My granddaughter loved throwing rocks in the creek. It was a short walk into town. One of the best features was we were able to enjoy the company of Arthur and Nin’s dog, Winston! This was a getaway for my daughter’s birthday. She said it was one of the best birthdays yet! We can’t wait to return!

Tranquil and beautiful private getaway with full stream access on Brook and only minutes from town!

The owners of this property were kind and welcoming. The house was well appointed with most kitchen and bathroom goods one might need. The place was immaculately cleaned as promised due to the COVID-19 health concerns. The decor of this house Is chic and interesting. Great collection of books. Bring a stepstool for the shower/bathtub. Other than that, this place was perfect for both a romantic and social time get away from city life!

Lovely romantic getaway close to Woodstock

The place was clean and very cozy. Nin was super responsive to all our questions and it was great when she passed by to make sure that everything was to our liking. We will definitely come back. The fireplace is a great addition to the feeling of place and there was plenty of firewood provided. I would definitely recommend the place.

Elegant, artistic and quiet.

Very private and beautiful. The land is exquisite. The apartment is elegant, artistic and perfect for couples or a small family. We enjoyed making meals together in the kitchen and having fires in the wood burning stove and watching the wildlife. The owner was lovely and attentive if/when necessary but otherwise we had all the privacy we could ask for. It was a quick drive into town (less than 10mintues from driveway to parking), the area is INCREDIBLE. This was truly a memerable and special place. Enchanting is not an over sell, I wouldn’t miss it if I were you.

relaxing and comfortable

We took a few days break from staying in New York. The place was very homely and comfortable. The cooking facilities and beds were good. The setting was absolutely beautiful with the town river in the front yard area. A leisurely 30 minute walk along the river to the town. The owner dropped in to say hello. She was very friendly and informative. I would recommend this place.

Wonderful Woodstock Vacation

We had a wonderful stay here for the month of July 2017. This is a charming house in a stunning location. What was particularly nice for us was the splendid country walking right from the door. Woodstock is an easy 15 minute walk along a quiet road or, better yet, cross the stream that abuts the property and hike the trail into town. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We had occasional guests come up from the city for a stay and all had a great time. We hope to return.

Great location and well stocked getaway

Picturesque getaway near Woodstock. The house is far enough away from the road to feel secluded while being near enough to everything to be able to enjoy the town. Host was very welcoming and had plenty of contact to ensure everything was ready for us. Thanks!

Great location and wonderful cottage

The cottage was awesome and walking distance to town. The owners/landlords were fantastic. We stayed there for 4 weeks which was longer than we usually stay in one spot.. The living space is much smaller than we are used to and a month was just a bit to long. A weekend or a week to 10 days would be perfect! There is so much to do in the area, including shopping, eating out, hiking and more. We would definitely return but maybe for a week next time.

Cozy cottage in an amazing location!

My husband, two small children and I really enjoyed our stay at this lovely, cozy cottage! The owner was very responsive and helpful, and the location can't be beat. The creek runs right through the backyard making it the perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of Woodstock. Even though the weather was cooler when we visited in the spring, we had lots of fun playing games on the lawn, throwing pebbles in the creek and playing with the sand next to the creek. It's also very short drive from Woodstock making for an easy trip to restaurants, stores and the local playground. The only downside for us was the lack of a washer/dryer in the house (given our messy children!) but the rustic charm of the cottage more than makes up for this slight inconvenience.

It could not have a better location..

We only had two night and would have loved to have stayed longer. The property is only minutes from restaurants and the heart of town. It's located on a beautiful active stream and the Comeau Trail....just spent an after noon enjoying the property. The apartment is warm and comfortable. I will return.

Charming cottage, beautiful property

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at this property. The cottage is located next to the owner's house, but we felt like we had lots of privacy as the property is quite large. Nin (the owner) is very sweet and accommodating. A lovely stream runs right below the house and it's the perfect place to sunbathe or have a picnic. The cottage itself is fully renovated and modern, very cool style!!! The cottage is just a 3 minute drive/ 15 minute walk away from Woodstock's charming little main street. Great spot for a getaway in a town that has lots of charm and great restaurants!

Style, Nature, & Serenity

A beautiful, cozy little cottage right on the river. Beds were very comfortable. House was well equipped with everything you need. Located on a gorgeous property. Would most definitely stay here again!

Simply Beautiful ~ lovely stream!

One of our most favorite properties in Woodstock situated on a creek with walking trails and close proximity to town. The house was clean, the bed is comfortable and the owners were very attentive. Would stay again!

Cozy Cottage

Beautiful and peaceful place

What a beautiful, immaculately maintained place and what great hosts and neighbors! More than sufficient for a couple with a three year old toddler, in December. We cooked and cooked and did not miss the microwave. Delightful kitchen to work in. Charcoal grill outside is ready to go with a chimney to start a fire. My son and I, both learnt how to use a wood stove; perfect place for fire safety reinforcement for a toddler. Divine views of the outside and even in 24 degrees so many things to do outside, on the property, let alone the potential of exploring the outdoor with a car/walk. Plenty of room for young children to run. It is a water property and with reasonable supervision, it is fun all around. All this when it was "cold" and there were no leaves on the trees, cant imagine what this place will be in other seasons! We did not spend too much time exploring the town but it was great whatever times we did go.

We had a wonderful time here.

The cottage is a wonderful place to stay--comfortable, lovely and well equipped. The big window overlooking the lawn and the waterfall is like bird (and chipmunk) tv--so many birds to watch! The waterfall and the stream are really nice to sit and watch or cool off in, and we had a good time walking the trails around the house. Beds were comfortable and it was lovely to fall asleep listening to the sound of the stream; bathroom was great with a really big tub. We cooked some meals in the house (the grill could use a little update) and ate some in town and enjoyed them all. Nin was available and helpful, and a really nice host. We'd love to visit again.

Lovely getaway!

My husband, 4-year-old son and I stayed here for a weekend in January. We enjoyed everything about the place and surrounding property. The indoor space is beautiful, clean and functions well for a family of 3 to relax indoors. We sat by the fire, cooked and ate meals, listened to music, played games, slept well and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was warm inside, there was plenty of firewood and there is wifi. Even though it was cold outside, we went for several walks on the nearby trail, which is beautiful! Nin, the owner, was very kind and helpful and her dog even accompanied us on one of our walks (to the delight of our son). I highly recommend the cottage house and we hope to go back again!

A beautiful cottage, location, and charming hosts.

This photogenic location aside a cool, roaring brook, a 25 minute walk to the village of Woodstock either through the preserve on the opposite bank or along the road, is highly recommended by us. Aside from the minor annoyance of a leaking kitchen sink (hopefully now repaired) we spent a calm week relaxing and cooking in this well appointed cottage while exploring from the top of Overlook Mountain to kayaking Esopus Creek from the falls to the Saugerties Lighthouse on the Hudson River. We were happy to have wifi access and equally happy not to be seduced by a working TV. When out and about we attended a Shakespeare festival, walkable across the creek, and the historic Byrdcliff Theater up the mountain a bit. We also managed to eat at many of the best local restaurants: there are many. We've stayed in Woodstock numerous times before but this was the most beautiful of our stays.

Scenic tranquility

We have enjoyed a wonderful week here with our 5 year old. The cottage was charming, well stocked, and impeccably clean. We loved the mix of rustic and contemporary design. The location is perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle - the cottage provides great privacy, being situated well off the road, facing a huge lawn and a babbling brook. The listing photos, as beautiful as they are, do not do justice to the relaxing effect of taking in the fresh air and the beautiful views while sitting out on the terrace. Our son loved playing in the stream and finding his way through the grass "maze". The owners were absolutely delightful and extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and the like. There's no shortage of nearby great eateries, with downtown Woodstock a short walk away, and Saugerties within a 15 minute drive. The area is a nature lover's delight, with hiking trails starting directly across the stream from the property. Opus 40 is a great nearby attraction for the architecturally inclined and those with an appreciation for enormousness and human endeavor. Thank you, Nin and Ralf, for such an enjoyable getaway!

Charming Cottage

We stayed at the Cottage House for one week with our two young boys, (aged 4 and 20 months). The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen and bathroom are modern, yet the rest of the house is more rustic in style. The location is quiet and beautiful, set away from any roads. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the garden in the afternoons and having early dinners outside on the terrace. It was lovely listening to the stream at the bottom of the garden. Nin and Ralf were really helpful and on hand if we needed anything. We ate at Oriole 9 (twice), Sunfrost Farms, Yum Yum Noodles and the Phonecia Diner on route 28 (twice), all are really good and recommended. Though a bit of a drive, the Catskill Scenic Trail was a really lovely day out. Walking with two young boys meant we only managed the bit between Stamford and Hobart but it was worth the trip and we had a lovely picnic along the trail.
