This typical kiwi bach is the perfect place to relax and create memories with your family and friends, only 3 walking minutes from Kawhia Wharf, pub, food places, The Boating Club, golf course, playground, very central.
Ocean Beach, with its hot pools, is 6 minutes driving and Aotea, perfect for a walk on the beach and a swimming, 10 minutes.
Plenty of options to keep you and your loved ones entertained, from charter boats, fishing from the Wharf or if you feel like exploring further, Marakopa Falls and The Natural Bridge (1 hour away).
For the avid fisherman, the property offers a filleting station and a great smoking house!

Holiday in Kawhia

We had a really lovely stay in Kawhia. The house was perfect for us, cosy and comfortable and close to town and the beach. Lovely to sit in the sun on the deck and relax. Thankyou!

Good Location

Nice compact place to stay, a bit rusty traditional kiwi bach with a fireplace. Our host was very easy to communicate. Only a few minutes walk to the wharf.

Comfortable and close to beach

House was tidy and had all the amenities, futon fold out was in dining room area so sleeping where we ate was not ideal. Will book again with less people.

Kawhia stay

Great property close to town, walking distant it was amazing. Such a quiet area it was lovely. The property had everything you needed for a getaway. It was great that we could have our little dog with us. Thank you for an amazing little bach.

Lovely stay

We all enjoyed our stay very much! The fire was amazing for the freezing nights! Loved the tv and my son really enjoyed the toys. Only downside was the freezer stinking like fish bait and hadn’t been cleaned. But was minor and didn’t matter much. Will definitely be back!

Perfect, cost effective, bach for a quick getaway. Thank you Roberta for your awesome communication. Although it rained all weekend, the internet and fire were a welcome bonus. Will definitely book again next time we are in Kawhia.

Lovely mini break

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was ideal for what we needed. The location was great, fireplace was a lovely bonus. Communication with the owner was amazing. And so nice to be able to bring our dog with us. The house had everything we needed. Turning up at night to the fire lit and light left on was amazing. Slight hiccup with the shower drain, owners were amazing at getting it sorted as soon as possible. Highly recommend this property. Thanks so much.

Comfortable digs in Kawhia

Beautiful weekend. Including the power outage. Felt like we were locals. Enjoyed all the candles. The wind and the rain outside was wonderful in front of the roaring fire. Dry and warm. Of course when we had to go into the rain not so cool. House was beautiful and warm overnight and . And when we got back from the wedding. Was just a wonderful weekend. Thank you soo much. I recommend Roberta’s home away from home.

Fresh fish a bonus!

Appreciated the quiet surroundings, the fire and the provision of the pre-cut logs and pine cones, the comfortable beds, the quality of the crockery, cutlery and utensils. The weather on the Saturday was hot, dry with not a cloud in sight so we fished from the wharf, which was only a few minutes away, and were rewarded with large trevally - caught on squid bait. Aotea beach was worth the 20 minute drive, fished for a while from the beach until it clouded over, returned to the bach just as it started raining, lit the fire, relaxed to play board games followed by our home cooked roast dinner. What a great way to spend three 'winter' days away, wish we had booked in for longer - will do next time! (A couple of notes: toilet seat needs attention, an outside light would be helpful and instructions for the tv.) Thank you Roberta for your friendliness and understanding and for letting us use your 'home away from home', we had a memorable time and hope we are able to visit again at a later date.

Classic Comfy Bach

We had a great time here with our young family and dog. The bach is a classic kiwi holiday home, renovated to keep it comfortable. Nicely decorated and maintained. Has all the amenities you need.Lots of great things to do in the area, including the hot water beach, fishing, Marakopa Falls and the natural bridge. Will recommend.
