Direct beach and trail access with hiking for you plus your dog(s) & or horses awaits you at this private, peaceful & a bit rustic cottage, just north of Florence.
Great location for outdoor enthusiasts- about a half mile/10 minute ride (no freeways to cross) to access beautiful Baker Beach & enjoy the 7 mile stretch of beach and/or watch the sunsets and/or storms once at top of dunes. You’ll also find nearby access to Lily Lake trail head for a beautiful wooded hike or lovely ride.
The 1080 sf cottage features simple home comforts~ the main floor includes a full kitchen (with upgraded appliances), dining table for 4, living room area with a leather sofa, plus a full size pull out futon, and a nice big screen tv for relaxing and streaming your favorite movies and shows.
The bathroom has a shower, sink & toilet and is located is on the main floor. There is also an air purifier available for convenience/sensitive groups if needed.
The upstairs features 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed.
There is also a small outside patio area in front, as well as a rustic outdoor fire pit out back~ perfect for nice evenings.
The perimeter of the property (.35 acre) is completely fenced, making it a great secure place for your dog(s).
Lots of other nearby attractions with things to do, including the sea lion caves, old town Florence (with wonderful restaurants), fishing & crabbing, dune buggy rentals, sand boarding, golfing & casino, and much more!
*Please note snowy plover restrictions are in effect through mid Sept. (doesn’t effect horse riding, but limits dogs on beach.)
*Dog (2 max) are the only animals (besides horses) permitted on property.
*Horses (4 max) are permitted with (3)12x12 stalls provided..plus there is a portable stall available for an additional horse. Please msg for more info &/or see info in ‘additional details’! Please note limited turnaround.

Horse boarding with beach riding!

Great place to have your own horses! We rode a ton and on the beach!! It was awesome. The house and property were clean and organized. Dawn was excellent!

Perfect Property for Dogs & Horses

My husband and I and our two dogs came to Florence for a long weekend. Dawn's place was a great setup for us. Having a fully fenced yard was wonderful for the dogs to be able to go out and explore and us not to worry about them getting out. Keep in mind this is a horse/dog property so the house is a bit rustic, but was quite clean and very well-appointed. Dawn has thought of many little touches to make the stay more comfortable. Plenty of towels, comfy bed and good hot water (the shower is a little oddly shaped because the house is older construction, but it was fine for us. She has kindly provided a bottled water dispenser that even has an attached dog water dish that can be filled directly from the machine with the push of a button. She also has a jar with dog treats and some toys and a towel for the water bowl. She obviously is an animal lover and I was quite impressed with the setup for horses. The house is about 8 miles out of town in a very quiet and private area. All four of us were very comfortable and happy with our stay. If we brought the dogs with us to Florence again, I would definitely stay at Dawn's.

Nice stay near the coast

Overall the stay worked well for us as a couple with their dog. I was able to use the second bedroom for work and the WiFi was great. Pictures were accurate, kitchen was well stocked, and the dog loved the fenced yard. Two quick notes that might help folks plan their stay: 1) The shower is a bit tight. I'm 6'5" so I'm used to some showers being a bit low for my liking but you'll probably have to duck a bit if you're more than 5'8" - never been in a shower underneath the stairs before this trip! 2) We were bummed to learn that the beach within walking distance has posted signs that don't allow dogs through the summer months. Plenty to see within a ten minute drive but if you're bringing your pup, don't plan on going to the local beach due to endangered species nesting

Great Getaway

Overall this was a great stay! Would easily stay again. ❤️ Nice little panel stall paddocks for horses and dog friendly. Location is great...but people should be aware... you have to either back down the road on the way in or back out. There is no turn around at all so could be challenging for larger trailers and/or some people. Also, if you're over 5'8" the shower won't be very nice for ya! Its extremely short in there 😅 The property being fully fenced is super nice for the pups. Very easy beach access just at the end of the road. My only real complaint is the neighbor next door lets their dog wander anywhere it pleases. When we first arrived it wouldn't go away and wasn't exactly friendly as we were trying to unload and get our own dog out. It came over to the property numerous times when we were coming and going. Even when riding our horses down the road to the beach he was running loose on the road. All in all its a wonderful quiet place that we enjoyed our weekend at!

Love this Location

This is the second time we've stayed at this property. We love how the entire property is fenced in. It feels safe and secure for our kids and dogs. The house is simple and clean and has everything to meet our needs. Love the grill! The owner is easy to communicate with. From this location, there are so many great beaches, lakes, and lighthouses to explore and enjoy. We'll be back!

Quiet hideaway

This makes the second time that my family and I have stayed in this little beach hideaway. It is tucked away from the wind, but right next to the beach. Dawn has provided a great value and experience. We sincerely appreciate finding a relaxing, quiet, and laid back accommodation that is family friendly. The upgrade to the kitchen is a nice touch! Truly a hidden gem.

Quiet and convenient to trails

We had a wonderful relaxing getaway with our horses and dog. We took beautiful photos at the beach. The house and property were well organized. Instructions were simple and easy to follow. We will return again!!

Relaxing stay for people and dogs

This property was just as pictured, if anything a bit larger than expected. The open concept downstairs makes it easy to be social while cooking. Separation of bedrooms upstairs (even a door at the bottom of the stairwell) allows good sound control. Beds are comfortable, plenty of linens provided, kitchen well stocked. Full fencing all around makes this a perfect dog property. Path to the lake is just across the main street and the walk to the beach takes 15 or 20 easy minutes. We enjoyed the firepit. Hope to come back again!

Such A Wonderful Getaway!

We had such an incredible time during our stay! Just minutes from the beautiful beach on a very quiet road with very friendly neighbors. The house is very private, fully fenced in with plenty of space for the dogs to get out some zoomies if they have any left after zooming on the beach! My husband and I brought our two horses and four vizslas. We literally racked up in the yard and rode out from the driveway. There are trails close to take that bring you down to the beach and you can ride for miles down the beach. My husband and I, our pups and the horses all had an incredible stay.

In the woods and near the beach

It was perfect for my 2 labs. They were safe and loved the yard! Great trail at end of the street, goes by a lake and up on the dunes overlooking the ocean we took this early in the morning. Saw a fox and an eagle. Quiet location! Binged on Netflix when we were home.

My partner wanted a cabin in the woods and I wanted to be on the Oregon coast. This lovely house was a great compromise. Spent time on the dunes and the beach. Had relaxing moments with a fire and enjoying the outdoor woods 😉

Very peaceful

I loved staying here! Very dog friendly and very peaceful. The only downfall was the smoke detector in the kitchen was very sensitive, but the owner did mention that. My husband and my kids will definitely be going back.

Lovely Hidden Gem

We had such a great time here! We loved the privacy of the location. It was so great to keep the door open and let the dogs and the kids play as they pleased in the fully enclosed yard. It was simple and easy and those are the best places for our family to vacation at. We will definitely be back!

Quiet paradise with everything you need

Easy to make the reservation and the home was cozy and quiet with everything you need to relax. The fenced yard was so convenient for my kids and dog. Home was tidy and fully stocked with thoughtfulness. Morning coffees on the front patio watching birds was so wonderful! The trailhead to the beach is about a half mile walk and completely beautiful. I can’t wait to return to this little paradise.

Tranquility at its finest

This quaint little nugget of a bygone era stands alone. Nestled against coastal hill with all of the flora one could hope for. If you listen, you will hear the ocean in the distance and the gentle breezes in the trees. The property itself is perfect for horses, your dog, or in our case, two busy children. The fence and gate that encloses the property made for a great space for my children to wander and explore. Our lodging was perfect for our needs. Everything was great, and the communication with the owner was great. We had a couple of questions and Dawn was very responsive. We'll definitely be back.
