Utomhusaktiviteter inkluderar: - TvÄ dammar för fiske och bad. - 1/2 kilometer frÄn sand-botten Piney Creek för fiske, bad och camping. - Acres of vilda blommor runt huset nÀr det Àr sÀsong (Bluebonnets, Texas Stars, Black-Eyed Susan). SÀsongen Àr mars till mitten av april. - Miles om stigar att utforska med din fyrhjuling (ATV, sida vid sida). Kermit is a fantastic host! We’ve been coming here every year since 2017, and it’s always as good (or better!) than the time before. The house is fully stocked with essentials and beyond! A space and place for everyone to have a great and relaxing time. Our group ranges from age 11 to 88! We’ll be back again next year! Very nice property with great water pressure! Wish we would have had more time to explore the property grounds. Everything was nicely labeled and easy to locate in the house and it had a nicely stocked kitchen for your cook needs. Only 4 of us stayed at the property and it suited our needs perfectly; not sure how it would have worked out if we would have had 10 people sharing 2 bathrooms - the upstairs restroom is on the smaller side. Communication with the owners was great and they were very accommodating. We would recommend staying here to our friends!

The house was very clean, air worked well check in was easy. We did drive back to the Hog Heaven. If we had ATV’s it would have been nice to check out the trails. If I needed a home in that area I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful Place, Relaxing Stay

Beautiful property, with space to spread out and explore. Quiet area, which made for a peaceful getaway. Older house, but well-maintained and it had everything we needed. We appreciated the open kitchen/living/dining space and we enjoyed our brief trip down to the creek.

Relaxing

Unseasonably hot but that's mother nature.House clean and comfortable which has anything you need for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed watching a bunny eating the juicy blackberries out back.Relaxing swinging in the hammock near pond.Not able to swim in creek, too low and too much debris and trail to cabin/creek overgrown. Definitely need an ATV or 4-wheel drive to get there. Couldn't catch a fish in the big pond, lots of vegetation.Overall, nice country relaxing time off.

Beautiful and relaxing escape!

My family of 6 (and 2 dogs) stayed for 3 nights for our Spring Break escape. We all loved it and never ran out of things to do! Highlights for our family included exploring the land, fishing and swimming, darts and ping pong, and the pedal boat! We hope to return

Paradise in Texas

Had an amazing week staying here. Plenty of room. Beds were comfy, and we loved sitting on the porch every morning sipping coffee and listening to the birds. I loved that everything was well labeled, and there were historical write ups for the house. Wdefinitely want to come back!

Had it all

This was a great property! There was so much to do onsite that our teens were never on a phone. We fished, played horseshoes, had a campfire, explored the land, had a ping pong tournament, paddle boated, row boated, and cooked a great steak dinner. We even had eggs delivered form the next door neighbor that we enjoyed for breakfast. Everything was clean and clearly laid out. Easy drive for Houston and our friends joined from Dallas. Highly recommend!

In 2011 I retired from 31 years as an engineer with Schlumberger. My wife and I own and manage three vacation rental properties. We enjoy providing relaxing and safe properties for our guests and their families.

We are both originally from Houston, then moved to Austin in the late 1960s when attending, then graduating from, the University of Texas, where we met each other in the Longhorn Band. Hook-em Horns!

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Bellheim is 104 acres of land owned by the Grafs, a family of German immigrants who settled here in 1853. Johann Graf immigrated from Posen, Prussia (currently, East Germany), in 1853, landed in Galveston, then settled in this area and called it the “Piney Community.” Bellheim includes Âœ mile of a clear, sandy-bottomed creek called Piney.

During the 1800s, the Grafs originally had approximately 700 acres of land in the Piney Community. Cotton, and then watermelons, were agricultural crops, and many Graf descendants lived and farmed in the area.

In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, our grandparents had a bumper watermelon crop. They shipped a full train carload to Kansas for sale and got a good price for them. The second carload they got a bill because the melons were sold at such a low price it did not cover the cost of freight. Life was difficult.

The land is mostly ranch land now as families have either died off or moved to the big city (Houston) where life was easier. Bellheim is the only remaining land owned by the Grafs in what was called the Piney Community. We opened it up for all to enjoy and is great for the young and young-at-heart to explore the creek, its bottom-land and ponds, and miles of trails along the creek and pasture land.

The Bellheim house was built in 1978 by Ralph Frank, Otis Graf’s first cousin and son of Olga Graf Frank. Like Otis (our father), Ralph grew up in the Piney Community. Ralph was a master homebuilder in the area, much in demand, and had a colorful character. One of his helpers would always hold a hammer halfway up the handle. Ralph sawed off half the handle and gave it back to him.

We've built a large cabin down at Piney creek. Included is an old-time outhouse! The camphouse will sleep 8 when furnished in 2016. Bring your sleeping bags now and try it out!

Mom tells Dad and the kids: “Does everyone want to stay at Hog Heaven tonight?” Then, she can have the house all to herself in peace and quiet!
