Med utsikt över 575 tunnland Watchaug Pond - fantastiskt omrÄde för fiske, vandring, mountainbike och gata. RÀtt pÄ John Vincent Gormley Trail och samtrafik spÄr frÄn Burlingame State Park. Kort bilresa till Misquamicut, East Beach, Charlestown Beach, Narragansett och University of Rhode Island. Lite lÀngre kör till Newport. Inom en mil frÄn Ninigret Park - saltvatten kajak lansering, tennisbanor, lekplats och observatorium, plats för den Ärliga fiskfestivalen, Rythmn och Roots Festival.


Byggd 1954 och minimalt uppdaterad, enkel stuga med alla bekvÀmligheter i hemmet - fullt utrustat kök, diskmaskin, ismaskin, kaffekanna, hummerpanna. Lakan och handdukar pÄ begÀran. TV med grundkabel utanför sÀsongen, utökade kabelprimveckor - DVD-spelare, pÄ begÀran. Vi Àr bara utrustade med Wi-Fi under de bÀsta mÄnaderna.

A good gathering place for family

The lakeside cottage was a perfect place for us and a few other family members while we were in Westerly for a wedding. We especially enjoyed the screened porch looking out on the pond. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay!

Wonderful family vacation!!

We so enjoyed our week here. The house was just lovely, clean and cozy. My family and I (including our dogs) enjoyed lake and our trips to the beach. The house was well equipped and in a convenient location. We would look forward to coming for another stay.

Peaceful Retreat, Wonderful Cottage!

We spent a long weekend at this cottage and loved every minute of it! The home is comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The surroundings are lush and peaceful. The owners are an absolutely pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend this rental.

Nice spot

It lacked the super clean feeling of a newer place, but it was pretty nice besides that. Nice beds, nice size, nice linens, nicely appointed kitchen (even though small and simple) and a great view of the lake. I loved the fire pit.

The host was a great communicator--quick to respond to messages, clear in instructions about getting in, etc. The listing is pretty accurate, but tall people need to note that the door frames and some sections of the ceilings are low--my 6'3" husband did a lot of stooping. The place could use a good cleaning, but that may be because it's the end of the summer season and perhaps they've had a lot of guests. Nothing was really clean. We had to rewash any pot we used, for example, and there was just generally a lot of dust and grime plus several large stains on the living room carpet.

Wake up to birds and lake view, cross the street and swim, lunch, drive ten minutes to beach, grill some fish caught on the breechway, watch the sunset, rinse and repeat. I’m already dreaming about next summer here!

Wonderful and relaxing

Return trip to this wonderful property. The update to the screened porch is lovely. We enjoy staying here and have been multiple times. Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Our stay was almost like home

A very pleasant stay with great views. A great space for a visit from local family & grandchildren. We were in our hometown for my class reunion held only 5 miles from this VBRO
 it was so very convenient! Beautiful sunsets and sunrises right out the porch windows
.. very relaxing. Just about everything you would need is there. We left you a 2qt pitcher as we needed one but are stocked with them at home. It was a good trip!

Nice, clean and comfortable cottage

My husband and I stayed here with my sister and brother in law. We enjoyed that the cottage was clean and well kept with many amenities. You can tell the owners give their cottage good attention, as they are concerned that their guests enjoy it. They wanted us to make it our home away from home, and we did. The house is across from the lake, and we could drop our kayaks in the lake about 1-2 blocks down the same road. We were visiting with other family for a nieces college graduation. This was a nice, and well kept cottage with the perfect hosts.

Relaxing, comfortable, quiet and serene

This was our first stay at this property. I must say the listing pictures do not do this place justice. It was cozy, comfortable, clean and well stocked with many extras. Fire pit and wood, grill, linens washer/dryer and a killer screened front porch to view the beautiful pond. It was perfect for us. I loved that we were on the Vin Gormley trail and that we could walk directly into Burlingame S.P. We found a lovely little beach that our dog thoroughly enjoyed. Down the quiet dirt road in the other direction was a boat launch and swim area. It was the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time. The house is also in a perfect location to venture to Newport but away from the crazy beach traffic and crowds. We had such a lovely time!

Stars Forever

Our stay on Sanctuary Road was just about perfect. The location was great; especially sunsets on the pond. Swim beach on the pond was warm, with no sand. We love both Charleston and Blue Shutters beaches. The house was equipped with everything we could want or need. The best part tho was the nights when the sky was clear. There’s a lot of stars in that sky! Also, if you fill the bird feeder, you will be rewarded with bird sightings!

Another wonderful stay

We’ve stayed at Liz & Todd’s place several times over the years & we absolutely love it. We cook/grill almost all of our meals & have always had everything we’ve needed. Liz & Todd are very responsive & kind. The property is always very clean & well maintained. The pond access across the street is just perfect for cooling off & relaxing. We often spend the days floating on the water. This year we brought kayaks & paddled in the pond as well as went to Quonnie Pond. The cottage is quiet & peaceful & definitely has everything you need for a restful vacation.

Relaxing and peaceful

The location was great! We kayaked on the lake, walked the dog on different trails (loved the Ocean View just past the Kettle Pond Visitor Center), and used the beach pass daily. The house was dated but better than the pictures and better than what we expected when we booked so absolutely no complaints!

We both grew up summering in the area and have deep roots and lots of family in the area. We have an unimproved cabin on property nearby where we stay in the summer and spend our time in this cottage in the winter.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

The lakes on the north side of Rt 1 in South County are glacial kettle holes - in the glacial morraine - it is a very special place with beautiful pristine beaches nearby. Watchaud Pond is clean and surrounded by preserved land. Charlestown is very un-commercial - we love the peacefulness year round.
