Our home is the perfect place to stay for your family, friends or colleagues. You'll find a nice combination of private and common space. We can accommodate a group to enjoy a cookout, dinner party, etc. Next to Balboa Park, Downtown and 4 freeways makes our home the perfect launching point for anything you desire while in San Diego.
The space
LOCATION:
Our home is located on the border of two desirable neighborhoods: Golden Hill & South Park. With easy access to major freeways: interstate 5, the 15 freeway, the 805 and the 94, you will quickly be on your way to anywhere you want to go. The excitement of downtown is less than a 3 minute drive or an easy uber ride making our home a prime location for accessing the Gaslamp District, Seaport Village, the Embarcadero, Petco Park, the Convention Center and Little Italy.
WALKABILITY:
If you enjoy a more local atmosphere, you'll find all the hip places within an enjoyable few minute walk. Right across the street is a great new coffee shop and small eats place Intazza Mug and Grub along with Benny's a great local taco stand. Starbucks and many other bars, restaurants, yoga studios, delis, grocery stores and Balboa Park are all minutes away on foot. There is also a Target Express, and Costco within just a couple minutes by car from the house.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
The perimeter of the house is secured and gated with a 6' tall fence and onsite parking with up to 2 medium sized cars parked in tandem. We also have a hot tub and putting green in our backyard that can easily be enjoyed without pedestrians looking into the property. We have gates separating the parking area from the yard so you can easily let your kids play outside, worry free. We also provide 4 external 24 hour security cameras for your protection. Camera 1 covers the back driveway. camera 2 covers the back door entry point. camera 3 cover the front gate and camera 4 covers the front door entry point.
OUR HOME:
Upon entering our home you'll find well kept landscaping with beautiful roses, succulents and other native plants. Downstairs is a common living area with its some original architectural woodwork. Our home was built in 1912 and has been updated many times, but also retains its historic feel with some classic features. Here you can have a cozy gathering with your group or family, watch movies and play games.
The first downstairs master bedroom includes a second bunk room and full size bath. Furnished with a king size bed and a set of bunk beds, the room easily accommodates a small family with kids or friends that don't mind sharing a space.
The second downstairs bedroom includes a king size bed and another full size bath. Next to the kitchen and back of the house, this room is well separated providing extra privacy and quiet.
Our third downstairs bedroom includes a queen size bed and lots of windows for wonderful natural light.
The upstairs offers a spacious master bedroom, walk-in closet, full size bath, living room, kitchenette and sunroom that is a perfect breakfast nook or a place to work on your laptop and enjoy a coffee. Attached is one of our favorite spots in the house: the balcony. Enjoy the beautiful San Diego sunset and views of Downtown, Mexico and the Coronado islands on a clear day. Cookout on the grill and relax on our sectional style sofa on a cool evening.
Kitchen:
We provide a fully stocked kitchen with all of the tools, spices, cooking oils, and appliances needed to make great meals. We offer appliances like a Vitamix, convection toaster oven, microwave, a dual pot or single cup Keurig and an air fryer. Upstairs we have a second refrigerator, another microwave, anothe Keurig and a reverse osmosis water system.
GATHERINGS:
We hope you enjoy our space during your stay. Our home is ideal for gathering your friends, family. Use our putting green and hot tub or one of our 2 grills for a cookout and dinner.
KIDS & FAMILY:
If you are traveling with an infant or toddler, we have 2 pack-away cribs, a high chair and a baby bath. Please let us know what we can do to make your stay with your little ones as enjoyable as possible.
GROUPS AND PETS:
To maintain a comfortable experience for all our guests, we host up to 10 guests per party. If you would like to discuss having more than 10 guests in your party, please understand there is an additional fee of $25 per night per guest. And, if you plan to bring your pet there will be an additional $25 per night.
Guest Access:
The entire home will be accessible to guests with some limitations. There are certain locked closets that are not accessible as well as the garage. Access to these areas are not permitted.
Other things to note:
Our home is located in an urban area so you will hear ambient noise throughout the day. We are also located on a main cross street so there will be more car traffic during peak rush hour. And we are located under the flight path so planes will be heard flying by throughout the day. We have recently installed noise reducing windows and doors throughout the house to help keep outside noise to a minimum.

I'm practically a native San Diegan having moved here when I was 2 from Chicago. While still a die hard Bears, Cubs and Bulls fan I just can't imagine living anywhere else buy sunny San Diego.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
The neighborhood is great due to it's many local options within walking. distance. And, downtown is just a mile away. In addition, you are close to all the main freeway arteries so getting to other parts of San Diego couldn't be easier.

One of the best features of property is that it is so close to everything. It has a putting green, hot tub and quite unique to the area an enclosed driveway with space for two medium sized cars parked in tandem.
