  • Simply superb

"This is a wonderfully secluded and yet prominently located log cabin comfortably set back from the cliff that drops down to Active Pass. You get the sense of being perched in the clouds. The vista to the west is stunning, especially early morning and evening. The ferries all pass through and they are a pleasure to watch and to hear their whistles sound. The first one is early, but you want to be an early riser to enjoy every minute of your stay. While technically a cabin, it has all the comforts of home and is extremely well equipped. Keep an eye on the water below as we saw orcas swim by early one evening. The most magical aspect was the sound they make. The treck to the beach is rigorous, but if you are moderately fit, no problem, and well worth the effort. The hosts are extremely responsive and friendly, although there was nothing we needed. We had a 10 day stay, and enjoyed every minute."

  • Location, location, location!

"Our adult family of 6 enjoyed a week's stay at this charming, rustic panabode with beautiful views of Montague Harbour. The sun set directly in front of the deck where we enjoyed our dinners each night. It is certainly peaceful and serene. The house has a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of room for everyone. The decor is 70's time warp - which is part of the fun (remember cassette tapes?) The owner is very easy to deal with and answers your queries promptly. One minor problem is there is only one shower in the house and it is downstairs (the main living area and two bedrooms are upstairs) - so it was a bit of a scramble to have 6 adults scheduling showers. You are walking distance to the harbour where you can rent a boat, have lunch or rent a kayak. You are also walking distance to the best restaurant on the island (PILGRIMME). We enjoyed the resident heron who was on the dock each afternoon."

  • Arrow's Run Cottage (upstairs) is amazing!

"My boyfriend and I booked Arrow’s run cottage (upstairs) and it was an absolute dream!! It was clean, spacious and everything was decorated beautifully. We couldn’t get over all the amazing art all around the house and the ceiling to floor windows which made for an amazing view of the ocean across the road. There was a lovely huge deck out front and plenty of beach accesses points right across the street. Could not have picked a better place for a getaway. Ralph and Rocky were lovely, we met them when we rented mopeds from them down by the marina and had an absolute blast exploring the island! We also had the pleasure of meeting their daughter in law Christa who we met first when we arrived at the cottage. Everyone was very helpful in making sure we knew where some of the destination spots were and all the good beaches. Thank you for making our vacation so enjoyable! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a getaway. My only regret is we didn’t stay longer!"

  • Charming!

"Our visit to Salt Spring Island was car free and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We caught the bus from the ferry and it dropped us off at the corner, steps from our accommodations. The suite is lovely and comfortable and is run by the owners of the Duthie Gallery. It's a short walk to the town of Ganges and far enough that it's peaceful and quiet both day and night. The sculpture garden attached to the Duthie Gallery is lovely to enjoy and steps from the private backyard that comes with the suite. It was wonderful to come into the suite and have fresh baked bread, some local fruit, homemade preserves, and all the fixings for a breakfast or snack. The only drawback for us was that the suite is open concept and if one person is awake it's difficult to let the other person sleep. Our contact person was Kevin and he was helpful with any questions we had and gave us a ride to the ferry for our return trip. We rented bikes to explore the island but that lasted one day after we experienced the multitude of hills. The next two days we rented scooters and enjoyed seeing the island and having some time to do some hikes as well. I have to say, I love the west coast! The people are relaxed and "real", the service was great, wherever we went, and nothing was a problem."
