  • Amazing place to get away from it all!

"We had a fabulous stay. The place was cozy and comfortable. Amazing views from the deck and beach! We didn't have a car and trekked in by foot from the ferry. Thankfully, a local lady stopped on the road to pick us up and drove us half way. Didn't get a chance to use the hot tub cause there were maintenance issues, but that didn't stop our fun. Also, didn't see any wildlife (was hoping for a seal or a deer), but sure got eaten by the mosquitoes (word to the wise, take bug spray!). Overall, I didn't want to leave, two days wasn't enough! We'll be back next year!"

  • A Gem by the Sea

"Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend get-away at this beautiful waterfront home on Galiano Island. The weather was glorious, the view from the property amazing, and we especially enjoyed watching the many otters, seals, bald eagles and herons. An amble along the rocks and water's edge was a pleasurable way to explore and have a leg-stretch. The cottage itself is perfect, well-planned with huge windows giving spectacular views of the ocean and beyond, and the owners have thought of everything that might be needed. It's an easy walk from a restaurant if you feel like eating out, or provide for yourself in the well-equipped kitchen. We would certainly recommend the Anchorage to anyone wanting a relaxing and peaceful stay on this Gulf Island, and we hope to return some day in the future."

  • Four nights was not long enough

"In the Bluff is far more than just a place to stay, it's an amazing experience on so many levels. Not only did we enjoy soaking up the mesmerizing views from the deck and exploring the secluded property, but sightings of deer, eagles, many other birds, and even a seal swimming in Active Pass, were magical moments. Although I have never really been drawn to log houses, the way Lawrence and Janusz have turned this one into a home is simply amazing. Every room, every fixture, every artful piece and playful detail make you feel like you are in a designer home that is somehow also packed with history, warmth and personality. You won't want to leave! I would especially recommend it for people visiting this part of the world for the first time, as a super-charged BC Gulf Islands experience. It's also a great base for hiking and exploring the island on foot. Best of all, Lawrence and Janusz are fantastic hosts and treat you like friends."

  • Location, location, location!

"Our adult family of 6 enjoyed a week's stay at this charming, rustic panabode with beautiful views of Montague Harbour. The sun set directly in front of the deck where we enjoyed our dinners each night. It is certainly peaceful and serene. The house has a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of room for everyone. The decor is 70's time warp - which is part of the fun (remember cassette tapes?) The owner is very easy to deal with and answers your queries promptly. One minor problem is there is only one shower in the house and it is downstairs (the main living area and two bedrooms are upstairs) - so it was a bit of a scramble to have 6 adults scheduling showers. You are walking distance to the harbour where you can rent a boat, have lunch or rent a kayak. You are also walking distance to the best restaurant on the island (PILGRIMME). We enjoyed the resident heron who was on the dock each afternoon."
