  • Relaxing Birthday Weekend

"Myself, my Fiance, her two friends and one of their 2 year old sons spent the weekend at Kingfisher's Perch for a birthday celebration. We decided to bike over for the weekend and were very grateful for the close proximity to the ferries and all necessary amenities! The location was fantastic and easy to find. We quickly discovered the wonderful deck and enjoyed our first evening watching the local herons and racoons feast in the intertidal zone. The home is well laid out and easily was able to accommodate our group. The beds were very comfortable and we loved having an actual fireplace for when the temperature dropped at night! Our only issue was a bit of confusion surrounding what to do with our garbage and recycling as there were a few differing instructions. My advice is to stick to the Rental Agreement and then there's no confusion. All in all, it was a wonderful, relaxing weekend and we would definitely recommend Kingfisher's Perch to anyone looking to get away to the amazing island of Galiano!"

  • Perfect

"This property could not have been more perfect for our annual mother/daughter getaway. The home is charming and well appointed. The surroundings are tranquil and private with a wonderful sea view. We all feel completely rejuvenated after our stay and will certainly be back."

  • Perfect for our needs!

"We were a group of 3, myself, my mother and my teenage daughter. My daughter and I flew into Nanaimo and met a friend for lunch. Our friend dropped us at the Crofton ferry terminal and we came across on the ferry as walk-on passengers. The ferry ride was 20 minutes and we walked off the ferry, up the hill about 400 metres and into the condo! It was perfect. My mom drove and took the ferry from Tsawwassen. After she got off the ferry in Long Harbor it was a short drive to the condo. The condo was clean and was represented accurately in the pictures. As is stated in the description it is a top corner unit. It was enjoyable to sit on the balcony and read and look at the view/sunset and watch the ferry and the birds. The ferry traffic was not an issue for us. The beds were comfortable (my mom used the master bedroom/ensuite), my daughter and I shared the other room, she took the top bunk. The beds were comfortable, the linens and towels were great (although we could not find washcloths -minor detail). The rooms also had enough space in them to unpack our suitcases! It was great to have 2 bathrooms, they were clean. The kitchen had lots of supplies and served our purposes. There was a BBQ however, we did not use it. The WiFi was good, we did not use the TV, the electric fireplace was a great touch (we turned it on one evening). Parking was not an issue, there was an elevator (we did not use it), it was great. Darcy was EXCELLENT to deal with. His correspondence was timely, his information accurate (he also supplied a detailed binder of information inside the condo on a) how to operate everything in the condo and b) area attractions. We walked in the morning, we walked to Duck Creek and walked the trails there and we walked to Quarry Beach. We also went to Ruckle Park and Mount Maxwell - great view, and visited many shops including the Salt Spring Cheese Farm (a MUST). Restaurants that we enjoyed included the Seaside Restaurant (just down the road) and Auntie Pestos in Ganges (we enjoyed the food/view so much we ate there twice). Having a washer/dryer was very handy, I brought soap pods from home. You may want to bring bottled water to drink - again, a minor detail. It was a short drive to Ganges to shop/eat. I had wondered out loud if we'd have preferred staying in Ganges and both my mother and daughter said "NO!" They were in agreement that they would we would absolutely stay in the condo again! Thank you Darcy!"
