  • Great cottage

"We had an amazing weekend at the cottage. The wood stove kept the main and upper floor warm until morning. We used the heater downstairs and it was warm and comfy there too. Let Kirk know about the DVD and TV problems and he's fixing that. TV satellite still worked but no movies. Renters with kids may be a bit disappointed if they expect to watch a few movies, so needed to mention that. Great cottage with a beautiful view of the frozen lake. Kirk's the best host I've dealt with and I've rented a lot the last 10 years. He called me while I was driving up there to make sure we weren't lost. Thanks again and all the best!"

  • Comfy, quiet and just the ticket.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Camp Lake. What a beautiful quiet place to relax. I enjoyed many hours reading on the upper deck, looking out over the lake. We went canoeing a few times and explored the lake. Swimming off the dock was something I've looked forward to all summer :) We saw the loons and heard them calling out at night. How beautiful is that. Must say the electricity was pretty dodgy - a lot of flickering, and then a 16-hour power outage at one point - which of course isn't Scott's fault, but does mean no water, no toilet and no light. I'd recommend throwing a camp stove into your trunk. Still, it got us playing boardgames by candlelight and that's a pretty great cottage experience in itself. Luckily your kind neighbor phoned Hydro and offered use of his camp stove. Also had some trouble getting out of the super steep driveway and finally had to make a low-gear run at it, which was exciting for the kids. All in all, totally enjoyable. A real, proper Canadian cottage. Would happily return some day. Melissa & kids"

  • Great peaceful place close to Algonquin

"We loved this place: great views on the lake from the hill, clear refreshing water of the lake, very quiet. Hosts are very nice and the restaurant they operate on the place looks fancy, although we didn't have chance to visit it. Great location for one-day visits to Algonquin Park. Our daughter likes to play with the sand, unfortunately the beach at the place is tiny and not very suitable for this kind of activity. --Dan"

  • Awesome cottage with awesome owners!!!!

"Executive summary - just a wicked awesome time at this cottage!!!!!! Our extended family of seven were up for a week this summer. Met by the owner on arrival and took us for a tour of the property and outlined everything we needed to know. Answered all our questions and was very helpful in answering texts after he left if we needed more information. Cottage is a home, lol.....awesome place to stay with magnificent kitchen, living areas and dock. Covered boat slip made my day. This place has all of the conveniences of home and more! The place is impeccably clean and well stocked for all your needs inside and outside. We look forward very much in returning next this place!"
