  • Cool Eleuthera house and amazing beach

"For our 'spring break' week, my family & I (and family friends of ours) loved staying at Savannah House on Windermere Island, which is connected by a bridge to Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. Our group of 10 fit nicely in the house with 8 in the main house (one master bed room; one room with two beds, and one room with two bunk beds) and 2 in the guest house (i.e. a bed room and full bath), which is steps away from the main house and is great for people (a couple?) who want to get away from any noise/hub-bub in the main house. The house is decorated in an artistic way but not so much as to make it uncomfortable for relaxation and/or play (e.g. cards, chess, checkers). The house has an easily walkable path to a stunning almost-deserted large white-pink sand beach (snorkeling at the beach is decent and the Atlantic Ocean water is calmed by a reef off shore). Additionally, guests of Savannah House are able to enjoy the amenities of the Windermere Club (two dinners there were tasty and priced similar to nice island restaurants). The house does not have/get TV stations (there is a TV that is hooked-up to a DVD player; we did not use it); the house has usable Wi-Fi but the connection was in & out so some patience was required when using it. For a family who wants to "get away" to a fabulous seemingly-private beach while staying at a cool house, Savannah House is a great choice! Kids staying at Savannah House will need to be able to entertain themselves (at the beach or house) and/or play with family members & friends who are staying at the house or nearby. Perhaps the only drawback is that the nearest restaurants are at least a 20 minute drive away (and the single main road on Eleuthera has numerous potholes to dodge while driving 'British style' on the left side of the road). The one house issue that came-up during our stay was VERY promptly handled/solved by the staff that takes care of the house. My family & I and our friends had an A+ time during our week at Savannah House! Matt W."

  • Comfortable House on Beautiful Beach

"We visited Water's Edge in November - 2 couples each with a 9-10 month old baby. It was perfect for us! The beach just down the stairs was excellent for playing in the sand and snorkeling when the water was calm (about half the visit it was too rough for good snorkeling) and walking for miles in either direction hardly seeing anyone. Absolutely beautiful. A quick 10 minute drive across the island to Ten Bay Beach on the Caribbean side was a great alternative when the water was rough or to watch the sunset. We explored other beaches on the island as well (Lighthouse Beach was especially amazing) and have much more to see on our next visit! Jim and Holly were super nice and helpful, as were the caretakers Ada and Doyle. Ada cooked a delicious dinner for us the last night we were there. They also arranged our rental car, which belonged to their son-in-law. This was especially great when we got a flat tire on our last morning and they fixed it straight-away so we could get to the airport on time (it's still island time, so always give yourself some extra!). The house has everything you need - spices, bags, great kitchen utensils, etc. We didn't bring our own food (already so much stuff traveling with two babies!), and it was expensive but we found everything we needed at the local stores in Governor's Harbor. We cooked most meals at the house but ate out at Mate and Jenny's (really tasty pizza!) and Buccaneer's Club (tasty but a bit expensive like everything on the island!). I would highly recommend Water's Edge. Get ready to relax and enjoy your own island paradise!"

  • Peace & Serenity

"Absolutely enjoyed my stay. Joanna and Paul were so easy to work with, very accomodating and even checked in to see if all was well. House is fully outfitted for anything you may need for your stay. We actually went for work but it certainly didnt feel like it as the property is secluded and right on the beach with such a relaxing ambience. Just simply peaceful and beautiful. We will be back for vacation! If you are looking for a get away from it all to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of Eleuthera then I highly recommend this place!"

  • Amazing Family Vacation

"Just returned from a week stay at this beautiful home with our family. From the moment we arrived (A little early) we were greeted with open arms. The home is even better than described and spotless, the view from every room is spectacular but from the the deck and pool can not truly be captured in photos. It is fully equipped with everything a family could need to feel at home. Having Howard available and so knowledgeable of the home and Island was priceless. We did some sightseeing of the island to several beaches and loved them all especially Ten Bay Beach but rushed home every evening to catch a few hours by the pool. Would highly recommend this home for couples, families and extended families."
