  • Excellent Property

"We are two couples who spent a week at the end of June at this great property. The condo is better than the pictures! It was easy to find from the airport. The area across the street from the condo are inhabited by very friendly locals. When we arrived, Gordon, the property manager, was there to greet us and gave us all kinds of great advice and showed us around the unit. A VOIP phone and a cell phone are provided for your use. The unit is well-equipped with fans and air-conditioning. The view out the back is fantastic. The beach is small in front of the unit, and you can snorkel around if you enter the water with some caution due to the large rocks. Just down the beach a little bit is a nice swimming area. There are a number of restaurants as you walk towards the airport that are nice to walk up to. Karakter Beach Bar was a nice treat and we had brunch and dinner there. Everything is within 40 minutes driving or less. All the previous reviews are spot on when it comes to the information. Everything is provided and more at Bella Mare. Be sure to take the advice from Gordon and Jill (who we worked with to book the condo). They had fantastic information and made the trip so much easier. Jill helped with booking a car which made it a lot easier for us. WHEN we come back, we will definitely stay at Bella Mare, again."

  • Maagnificent time in paaraadise

"We spent 6 lovely days, 5 nights, in St. Maarten. One of the largest highlights of our trip was our stay at the beautiful and luxurious Villa 8. The views and location are ideal on top of the safety and security of the neighborhood and surrounding area. From the balcony you can see an unobstructed view of the lovely Cupecoy beach which is 5 minutes away by foot. The house was ideal for our family of 3 adults with room to fit 6, with enough bathrooms, closet space and living space for everyone. The villa was well equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils and equipment which we used daily. The appliances and facilities are high end. The house has as a very modern and contemporary feel, it was very livable, functional and homey – fit for Royalty. We enjoyed the open concept space since it allowed our family to gather together communally but perform different activities at the same time. One family member could swim on the patio, while the others watched TV, cooked dinner, etc. The house also comes with a washer/dryer which can be helpful for families with younger children and those staying for longer periods of time. We were able to enjoy the best of both worlds with since the villa is tucked away, yet very accessible to the hotel amenities and beaches. The owner is very responsive and pleasure to deal with. Our family enjoyed our time in paradise and is looking forward to coming back! - JoseD"

  • The Real Deal

"There is a reason that every review is 5 stars- the condo is wonderful. It was a final family vacation before our oldest starts college this fall, and it was the perfect choice. Clean and spacious, three large bedrooms, a great sun room and an outdoor balcony. Each day we explored a different area of the island. Some of our top choices: 1. Rent your SUV from Unity (Brian connected us with them)- nothing better than having your vehicle delivered to you at the airport and then dropping it off in the departure lane. 2. Orient Beach was our favorite beach- we loved the water and casual restaurants- Parking was easy. Other top beaches- Cupecoy- right outside the condo and a private little beach by Little Bay. (There is public parking right next to the Belair Beach Hotel.) 3. We did 2 snorkeling trips. One with Octopus Diving- 3 out of 5 stars: The Creole Rock site is excellent. The other trip was with Captain Alan's Snorkeling- 5 out of 5 stars. A little more expensive, but well worth it. We did the 1/2 day tour and enjoyed every second. Got to see the sea turtles. 4. Croissants at Sarafinas. 5. Beachfront dinner at Grand Case, but just as delicious was a crepe stand near the parking lot. 6. Loterie Farm. My son and I did the hike and saw wild monkeys 7. Card games at night in the sun room overlooking the sea. The internet worked, but was slow for international work. My VPN connection kept getting dropped. Don't plan on doing a lot of remote work, but who really wants to anyway? Dawn beach- too much seaweed. Glad we were not staying there. Philipsburg- we are not big shoppers, so this was a wasted 2 hours. Too many tourists and bad restaurants. Unexpected memorable event: Used google maps on the cell phone while driving, and it worked fine. Occasionally it would route you through "short cuts" that you would not ordinarily plan on taking. One time a wrong turn and inability to take a U turn had us go over one of the highest points- the grade was over 15% and it felt like the SUV was going to tip over backwards. More exciting than any roller coaster- a highlight that even the teens didn't want to repeat. We highly recommend this condo."
