  • Beautiful condo, Great location, Chill Island, Wonderful Hospitality

"This was our third time in St. Croix. The first two times we stayed at the Palms at Pelican Cove Resort, but this time wanted to stay for two weeks in more of a "home" environment. Staying at Schooner Bay was the perfect place for us. The condo is beautiful and more than spacious enough for the two of us. Well stocked and appointed from arrival drinks and cooking supplies to beach gear and sunscreen! Mike greeted us at the airport even though we rented a jeep there, and escorted us back to the condo and gave us the tour. He said he was available if we needed him for anything, but we didn't. There is a beautiful view of Christiansted and the harbor, and the lovely pool is right up a path and a few stairs from the condo entrance. Although there is no beach right at the condo or within close walking distance, there are so many close beaches nearby that you can drive to quickly, pull you car up to the trees lining the beach and sit on the water, usually with the beach to yourself or no more than a dozen others to share with. Our favorite chill beaches were Cheney Beach (5 minutes; you can go in through the resort or drive in directly through the nature preserve) and Rainbow Beach north of Fredericksted (about 30 minutes). The location of the condo is close to town and central on the island, so no destination is more than 30 minutes. You CAN walk to Christiansted, but it's a good walk and since we had a car we drove. There are a few local restaurants near the condo, some shops and coffee/lunch places. And the Schooner Bay market is in the neighborhood for all your essentials also. When we arrived, the condo was closed up and had the AC on and was cool. We immediately turned off the AC, opened all the windows and left it that way for the two weeks. It's not the breeziest location on the island, but there is still enough of a breeze that with the help of the ceiling fans it stayed comfortable without the AC on. We HIGHLY recommend this condo. Two very small issues to mention, though neither are in the control of the owners and would in no way keep us from staying again: 1) from mid-afternoon on the sun does come in the sun porch directly, making it hot to sit, but we enjoyed our breakfasts out there and could use it until mid-afternoon; 2) the condo sits 100-200 yards above a working harbor. With the AC off and windows open it can be a little noisy at times. All in all, a WONDERFUL two weeks!!!"

  • Fantastic seclusion! Amazing view!

"We scheduled for Chef Juliana to prepare our meal after a day of flying. It was deliciously fantastic and perfect timing after arrival from the airport and settling in. Great information for local attractions and services was at the home and Austin who was waiting for us at the home at arrival. It was the perfect location for disconnecting and relaxing. Just remember that it's an island so cell and internet are not the same as on the mainland, but are the perfect excuse to disconnect! We did a little exploring on the island and enjoyed the slow pace while being cognizant of driving on the left! Cane Beach is a must and a gorgeous drive with a few fantastic pull off spots. We had never been to this island before but we felt well prepared with Dana's thorough information and directions. We will definitely visit again!"
