  • Great apartment in a great location

"This is a very comfortable and very well equipped apartment in a great location. A ten minute walk in any direction will take you somewhere interesting - the Water front, Coit Tower, Chinatown. The area is quiet but you are only steps away from many fine restaurants. Sherry the owner is delightful and full of information. It was my first visit to San Francisco but I am sure it won't be my last."

  • Wonderful location & all of the above

"My friend and I visiting from the east coast really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean, stocked with extra blankets and it really felt like a lucky find. The small backyard was so beautiful to look out on and we spent most afternoons hanging in the park right on the street. The location was great, we felt safe and it was close to things we wanted to do in the Mission and other neighborhoods. There was a great kitchen that we didn't use with a nice big table as well. Holly was very sweet and let is check out late as out flight wasn't until late that night. That was a life savor not to have to carry our bags around town. I would suggest staying here for a relaxing, carefree stay."

  • Great place to stay in SF

"My wife and I just spent a week in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dana's sunroom was ideal for us. It was clean and the location, in a neighborhood that was quiet, where the people were friendly, and that felt very safe to walk around in, was just what we wanted. Within easy walking distance were some restaurants and a Whole Foods market, as well as small shops and convenience stores. We particularly liked Casa Mexicana on Church St. for fresh, tasty Mexican food. We had no need to rent a car, preferring to use public transportation. The nearest MUNI stop is within a 5 minute walk and connects to any part of the city you would want to visit. Buying a CityPass or a weekly MUNI pass makes it economical as well. And as the weekly rate for the rental was so reasonable, much cheaper than staying in a downtown hotel, more money could be spent on enjoying the many activities available in the bay area. We particularly enjoyed visiting Muir Woods, the Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz (on a night tour, which is less crowded than ones during the day), and ATT Park for a Giants game. I highly recommend, if you are able to handle the walking, the Real SF tour, which, between walking and using public transportation, is a day-long, small-group guided tour of many neighborhoods and sites in the city. We took it on our first day and as it was so informative about the history of the city and it's various neighborhoods, helped us greatly during the remainder of our stay to make use of the MUNI easier, to appreciate the diversity of the city, and to help us decide which neighborhoods and attractions we wanted to explore further. During our stay Dana was the perfect host, helpful and concerned that our visit was going smoothly. He was always available if needed but in no way intrusive. To be fair with this review, there are a few, small quirks about the sunroom that we had to adjust to but they were quite minor, namely no sink in the bathroom and no available freezer/ice maker if you wanted ice cubes for a drink. And as Dana makes everyone well aware in his listing, there is the 43-step, twisty flight of stairs that must be climbed to reach the sunroom. We are both in our mid-50s and while it is certainly navigable, it does require some care doing so. But again, to us these were all minor inconveniences and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return to San Francisco. Thanks for everything Dana--we had a great vacation!"

  • Nice Stay

"The 2 BR Queen Anne Victorian was a great stay. Tonya was very helpful and only a call away if needed. The place was great as it was near a park if want to get outside and just sit and enjoy the atmosphere and in good location, and just a short drive away from all of the major attractions of Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, Lombard Street, Golden Gate Park, and the downtown area. The beds were the most comfortable beds my wife and I have ever slept in. They are very soft and when we finally hit the pillow were out in seconds. The TV was small, but were only in the place to sleep and plant our selves between all of the Touristy stuff. The entrance was through a small closed walkway, but was safe. Would recommend for a great place to stay."
