  • A great spot!

"We actually stayed in this charming house in for 3 nights in June of 2015, but the review site would not back-date our arrival. (Just a tad late getting this review together...) We were greeted by Richard and Bryan who gave us the house tour along with champagne & banana bread. They are wonderful and attentive hosts! We would not hesitate to recommend this house or it's location. The house is clean, well-stocked and very comfortable. The neighborhood is "quirky" in the most positive California way, and the trees are amazing. Very quiet. We would definitely stay here again Main Street is a quick drive away. We highly recommend trying boon eat+drink ( for dinner and the Coffee Bazaar (off the end of Main St) for coffee/tea + breakfast goodies in the morning ( They also serve light lunch. We had a glass of wine at Chef Patrick's ( and the menu looked tasty. Check out Nimble & Finn's for ice cream and pie ( There's a redwood forest about 10 minutes from the house that we were told is pretty amazing but we didn't have time to check it out. Healdsburg is only 30-35 away, a great town with lots to look at, great restaurants and MANY tasting rooms! Make sure to stop in @ Roadhouse, Portalupi, Banshee & Topel."

  • Beach Retreat

"The Beach Retreat is a really great spot to spend time when in the Guerneville area. It is only about a eight minute drive to downtown Guerneville and yet is only about a five minute walk to a private beach area along the river. The view from its balcony is lovely (although there in no view of the river itself) and provides perfect privacy. The master bedroom is separate from the the rest of the house and also provides privacy and quiet that are very nice. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and the appliances were very nice. Parking for up to three cards is conveniently right out front. The fenced-in yard is great if one had dogs. On the other hand, when the place gets warm, it is hard to get air circulation because the only opening in the back of the house is the back door to the balcony. When sitting outside, there is some truck noise from Highway 116. While overall quite nice, parts of the house looked a little shabby -- an ottoman in the living room that has seen better days, moldings that need care, some parts of the house the cleaners missed (dust), a kitchen that had basic supplies but we've seen better (e.g., salt and pepper were supplied but no other spices). The balcony railing was not as sturdy as one might like. Especially near the gate it seemed really wobbly. We wanted to do a really good job of cleaning up as we had dogs with us, but the vacuum cleaners in the house were in poor condition and made extra work for us."

  • Great location. Everything you would need in a rental home.

"We stayed at Clare's home for Vineman weekend. We also had a family reunion in conjunction with the event. The location is perfect for all activities. We had people of all ages staying with us. We took full advantage of all that the home has to offer, as well as the surrounding area. First, the location of the home is great. You are walking distance to town over the bridge. There is easy access to the bridge, so you never have to deal with cars. My kids walked over the bridge countless times to enjoy the river. Second, the park across the street was great. My 4 year old loved playing over there. The older kids took the basketball, from the house, over there as well and played. They actual got a pick up game started with some of the local kids. Third, the river is easily accessable and we used the provided kayak and blow up boats on the river several times. My kids were able to find a couple of rope swings on the river to enjoy. Hours of fun. Fourth, since I was in town for Ironman, the access to Johnson's beach was amazing. I walked over in the morning to transition within 5 minutes. My family didn't have to deal with parking or traffic. We found a quick escape route so, they didn't have to deal with River Rd. traffic to Windsor. When I do the race again in the future. I will definitely use this house. And finally, Clare is great. The whole process leading up to our stay she was readily available to provide information and answer any concerns. She called us during our stay and even asked how I did in the race. We greatly appreciated her home and were honored to be able to stay in it. The sleeping accomodations are great. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor and the master bedroom is huge. There is a room within a room in the master bedroom. We never felt crowded in the home. And it was very quite at night. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and will look forward to staying in it again in the future."

  • Wonderful grounds, pool is fantastic, a little dated on the inside, very well stocked and maintained

"Great space for multi generation family vacation - kid friendly, accommodates multiple families, great pool, large dinning, kitchen, and living spaces with multiple refrigerators and dishwashers, awesome air hokey & billiard table. Well stocked with linens, towels, and kitchen supplies. Wonderful garden with great vegetables & herbs & fruit. Fantastic location. Suggestions - screen in sliding door, blinds on large door/window, kitchen rugs, board games/toys for younger kids, and better signage outside in gate. We had a really great time thank you!!!"
