  • Nice house

"We spent 2016 Thanksgiving weekend at Ruth's house. Honestly, we were really scared before arriving, because of a recent very bad review. Lucky us, the bad review resulted to be mostly nonsense. Yes, it is an old house. And yes, there are lots of stuff inside. Not for you if you are looking a modern luxury hotel or alike. But if you look for a nice place to stay, that feels like home, this is the place to be. Everything was perfectly clean and ready to use. The owner took a good care of placing lots of notes inside the house, instructing how to use everything and where to find the stuff. Even how to build a fire in the fireplace! We loved that. Every room had it's own heater and electric blanket to ensure you don't feel the winter. Some people may prefer a central heater system, but everything worked as a charm and we did not feel any cold inside. The owner was always very nice and quick responding our previous questions by email. We did not need to ask anything once at the house, because everything was very well indicated, and nothing was missing. I was intrigued about those bad reviews complaining about a ouija board... Well, the house has A LOT of entertainment resources, including music, movies, and board games like Trivial, Pictionary, etc. One of this board games happens to be a ouija game. Is this really a problem for some people? You can just ignore it, as we did. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the lack of internet and dishwasher, but this is clear if you read the description. The cell coverage in this area is pretty good, so we did not miss the wifi so much. We will come back in the future."

  • Beautiful backdrop

"This property is so unique and charming. Our group enjoyed our time and only wish that we could have had more time and less rain to enjoy the outdoor areas around the houses."

  • Charming Times Three!

"Three Times a Charm is charming times three - a tranquil setting, exquisite yet comfortably adorned home, and gracious owners. This is my fourth stay in Richard and Bryan's homes; I qualify them as homes, not houses, because you feel like you are at home (only much nicer)! My sister and I stayed twice at their Side-by-Side - which is absolutely wonderful; and now twice at Three Times a Charm. Three Times a Charm has a large redwood deck which overlooks the creek and redwood forested backdrop of the rear yard. We always intend to spend a day playing tourist, but the house and scenery are so peaceful and relaxing that we never leave the property! You have your choice of a large eat-in kitchen (which can accommodate multiple chefs) and/or a barbeque grill and dining on the deck. Cozy reading spaces, fireside cocktail hour, great outdoor spaces. I like that the front is enclosed by wrought iron fencing and gates. You can see everything around you, but the extra privacy and security makes it an even more comfortable stay. We keep coming back because it is close to our home, but feels a million miles away. We leave there feeling fulfilled, relaxed and indulged. Thank you Richard and Bryan for creating these great retreats!"

  • Charming rustic home on the river

"I rented this home for our friends for my birthday celebration, as an extension of rooms to the primary house that the party was hosted in, just a few doors down. The home feels like a private bed and breakfast inn, and is very charming and rustic with great views of the river. You can tell the owners have pride in the home, and their garden they started is delightful. One of the couples really liked that the master bedroom was separate from the house so they had their peace and quiet. And my other GF from Ukraine really loved the wood paneling, and American vintage style; although, she said it reminded her of a hunting cabin as a child. The kitchen was well stocked for a midnight raid of snack making, and culinary creativeness. The check in/check out was easy (pick up keys/drop off keys at the Russian River Vacation Homes office in town), and they took advantage of RRVH passport to local discounts."
