  • Sunset Manor is okay

"Overall the unit was in a good location and clean. The dishes, utensils, pots and pans were just fine to nice. The barbeque was newer and nicer than the photo. The TV image quality was really good and great variety of channels. The bed and sheets were definitely okay-- we slept very well. There were plenty of good towels, dish soap and body soap, a filled salt and pepper shaker and sugar. On arrival we were greeted by weird comments about our car by one host. Upon entering the unit that host got in a huff (my family told me) because I started looking around before his tour and he left without sharing his tips (I assume he had some). That did not feel like the welcome we expected. So, we found the carpet shabby, the place smelling musty, water smelled rusty (we bought jugs) and the bathroom is old but intact and functional. The living area had an old brown sofa in +/- shape (not the one in the advertisement) and no other comfy chairs-- but the dining table is in the same space. The fridge and stove are small but good and functional. The micro is off the counter-- great because the counter space is small. No dresser. Oh, well! After we cooked and relaxed and came and went over our three night stay we were able to easily overlook the lackluster quality I mentioned, enjoy the good and we still had a very, very good time. It's always fabulous to be at the river and we don't skip the Main Street Bistro for dinner and live music nor the ice cream next door. Be aware that you might not find it easily walkable to main shopping area because the road can be narrow and is hilly. The host Bill was nice :-)."

  • Amazing House!!

"My wife and I along with two other couples recently rented the River Ranch house for a relaxing weekend, and some wine tasting in the Sonoma area. The property is nestled into an area that provides tranquility and relaxation. Its location is convenient to town, vineyards, and Armstrong State Park. We enjoyed grilling, late afternoon swims in the pool, and an evening fire under the stars. The house came supplied with everything one would need and was plenty spacious for the 6 of us. The outdoor space was paradise. The house exceeded all of our expectations. We'd recommend it to our friends and will be sure to return. Thanks for sharing your home, Sean and David."

  • Wonderful stay

"We came here with two families and certainly had plenty of room. The place was very comfortable and clean with all the amenities for the kiddos. The location is excellent. A good walk from town. We enjoyed walking to and from at dinner time. The pool was an excellent break in between activities. We enjoyed all the wild blackberries in the surrounding area. The location is also excellent for hiking, a quick ride to the beach or Healdsburg! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!"

  • Beach Retreat

"The Beach Retreat is a really great spot to spend time when in the Guerneville area. It is only about a eight minute drive to downtown Guerneville and yet is only about a five minute walk to a private beach area along the river. The view from its balcony is lovely (although there in no view of the river itself) and provides perfect privacy. The master bedroom is separate from the the rest of the house and also provides privacy and quiet that are very nice. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and the appliances were very nice. Parking for up to three cards is conveniently right out front. The fenced-in yard is great if one had dogs. On the other hand, when the place gets warm, it is hard to get air circulation because the only opening in the back of the house is the back door to the balcony. When sitting outside, there is some truck noise from Highway 116. While overall quite nice, parts of the house looked a little shabby -- an ottoman in the living room that has seen better days, moldings that need care, some parts of the house the cleaners missed (dust), a kitchen that had basic supplies but we've seen better (e.g., salt and pepper were supplied but no other spices). The balcony railing was not as sturdy as one might like. Especially near the gate it seemed really wobbly. We wanted to do a really good job of cleaning up as we had dogs with us, but the vacuum cleaners in the house were in poor condition and made extra work for us."
